Sketchy Heart Feathers

Wow! It’s the last day of 2015 so Happy New Year’s Eve! As I look back on this past year I have to say that it was a pretty good one. It started off in January with my trip to Florida for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference but the best part of that was hanging with Maggie and staying with Germaine and her husband! I had an awesome Summer with Michael, Maggie and lots of Manhattan topped off by a wonderful trip to London with Brian! My only regret is that if I had known that I would be out of work shortly after returning from London I would have stayed longer! 2015 was a good year and 2016 will be even better! I did wake up with a headache this morning, that might have had something to do with Thirsty Thursday being moved to last night! I had to take Brian home, he had way too much Whiskey and when I got home I was just ready for bed. After the Excedrin kicked in I made my card for today. Now that Christmas is done we can start focusing on the next Holiday… Valentine’s Day!

My card today starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Kraft Card Stock with the Tim Holtz Ledger Script Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and adhered it down the left side of the card. The tag is cut from another piece of Ivory 110lb with the Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag Die. My heart is cut from some Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Die and the feathers from a piece of DIY Shop 6×6 Paper using the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. I adhered them to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp XOXO Border Die, trimmed and adhered with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through the top and then used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere the tag to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart Mix and Charcoal Sequins complete the card! The layout is one of my favorites and I still am loving that Sketch Heart and the Feathers! I hope that you enjoyed my last card for 2015! Thank you for another fun year here on the blog! I look forward spending some time in 2016 with you and can’t wait to see what the New Year brings for all of us! Have a safe an very happy New Year’s Eve! 🙂

Another late morning! I have to say that I think that the reason that I wake up late is because it’s 86 degrees in my house! I need to do something with the heat situation! I’m cooked into a coma every night! LOL! I did have a very nice day with Sue yesterday, we made an ornament and went out to lunch at Panera. We also stopped at the shoe store and I got a new pair of boots! It was fun playing in her craft room, she has lots of stuff! When I got home I had some dinner and got to see Daniel for a bit. From there it was back to my house to craft for a bit and then I ran over to see my friend Maureen and then stopped by Target to pick up some essentials. I finished the evening with a little Skype session with Eva. She reminded me that it was the 100th challenge for Can You Case It so I had to make a card and that’s what I have for you today!

CYCI #100

The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set to create a background on a piece of Solar White 80lb. The snowflakes are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Steel Blue, Hot Mama, Smoke and Thistle Ink. It’s adhered to a piece of Recollections Purple Glitter Paper and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Cloudy Sky and Hot Mama with the swirl stamped in Smoke on a strip of Solar White 80lb. That too is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My penguin is one of the stickers from the sticker sheet included in the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit and is adhered to the greeting strip with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish off the card! I love the nice mix of colors and that little penguins is just too cute! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the CYCI 100th Challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I wish you all a wonderful last Wednesday of 2015! 🙂

SIP Challenge 28 – Anything But Christmas!

It was a little chilly here yesterday and then it rained last night. I would like the 60 degree weather back now please! My day was nice and quiet. I was in the house most of the morning crafting and FaceTiming with Andrea. Taylor stopped by to take a nap on my couch and then in the afternoon I ran over to see Sue for a bit. She surprised me and got me a 2016 Sam Smith calendar! That was very nice of her, love it! After I left Sue’s I had some dinner at my parents with Taylor and then I came home and watched some TV. It’s supposed to rain here most of the day today and I’m going to head over to Sue’s again so that we can make some ornaments!

Today it’s time for the last Stamp, Ink Paper Challenge of 2015! I’m pretty much over Christmas and I’m sure that you are too so this week we have an Anything but Christmas theme…

SIP Challenge 28 - No Christmas 800

I had some fun with a new stamp set from The Ton! The base for today’s card is Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of Recollections Adhesive Cork. I stamped another piece of Ivory 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink and then used the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies to cut it out. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord is tied through the top and I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The first part of the greeting and the coffee cups are from The Ton Hug in a Mug Photopolymer Stamp Set and are both stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. I stamped the latte art in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink and then used my Copics to shade it and add the dots. The final part of the greeting is cut from some Early Espresso using The Ton Coffee Word Die and adhered to the bottom right of the card with Multi-Matte Medium. You know how I feel about coffee so this is an awesome set and I love the way that the latte art looks with the Copics! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! The rest of the Team has some really great cards to inspire you over on the BLOG so go over and check them out and be sure and join us! Thanks a latte (get it?! LOL!) for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Thanks Notecard Set

Ahh… the day after Christmas. I hope that everything that you got was exactly what you wanted and that you will not have to be returning or exchanging anything! I had a lovely Christmas! My brother, Erika and Daniel showed up at my parent’s around 12:00 along with Taylor. The first thing that my brother did was to take Daniel outside to take some pictures. I also took a few and here is one of the cuter ones…

Daniel & Goose 2015

He so damn cute with his little vest and collared shirt along with his tie! Love that little boy to pieces! He gots lots from Santa and the rest of the crew. His favorite was his Thomas the Tank Engine train and track that he got. He played with that for quite a while. We had a tickle war, one of my favorite things because he has the best laugh! Andrew and his girlfriend Kayleigh stopped by for a bit and then after my brother left I FaceTimed Tracey and got speak to a big part of the gang over in London! We had a very non-traditional Christmas dinner, home-made macaroni and cheese along with some ham, actually one of my favorites! After dinner I came home and crafted for a bit and then watched Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, very good just like the rest of them! Not a bad Christmas at all! I hope that yours was just as good! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for the weekend, I’m going to stay at Kim’s and hang at The Ink Pad, Saturday with Barbara and Sunday with Jane. Should be a fun relaxing weekend!

So after Christmas what’s the next card that we need? Why Thank You cards of course! I made a quick and simple set using a Winter stamp. I love when you can use a stamp for other things than what it was intended for! My cards are all Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. I stamped them all with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Background Stamp, two with Simon Says Stamp Mint Candy Ink and the other two with Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink. Across the middle of each one is a strip of Recollections Silver Glimmer Tape. I used the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set to cut out some Black 110lb and adhered them to the cards with Multi-Matte Medium. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. Like I said really simple and that Falling Snow Background Stamp just looks like fun confetti! I hope that you like the set of Thank You cards for today’s post! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Merry & Bright Snowflake Spinner Card

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! It’s going to be in the high 60’s here today, I like that temperature for Christmas Eve! Yesterday it rained all day, again, still better than snow! I went to the mall with Brian in the morning, yes, he had to go to the one that they had the shooting at on Tuesday! It wasn’t too crowded and he got all of the stuff that he needed to get. After that we came back to my house so I could get the plates off of my old car and finally turn them in. Christmas week is a good time to go to Motor Vehicles, I was in and out in 15 minutes! After that I hung around the house and FaceTimed with Andrea for a while and worked on some crafty stuff. Today is Michael’s birthday! A very Happy Birthday to you Mr. Trent!! I hope that you have a wonderful day! I have a bunch of last minute projects to get done today so I will be a busy little boy! Are you all done?!

Today I have a relatively easy and fun spinner card for you! I started by cutting a circle out of a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb and one out of Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Nesting Circles Craft Dies. Next I used the Simon Says Stamp Nadine Snowflake to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Aqua Smooth Glitter Paper. I applied some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to the backs of all of the pieces and then sandwiched a piece of DMC Silver Thread between the white snowflakes before adhering the glitter one. A layer of SNAIL is applied to the back of the front panel and the thread is placed on it before adhering it to the base. I ran the card through my Big Shot in a piece of folded computer paper to make sure that it was adhered together really well. Another piece of the Aqua Smooth Glitter Paper along with some Solar White 110lb is then cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Craft Dies. Some more spray adhesive adheres them to each other and the card. Not too complicated but it’s a really fun effect when you open the card and the snowflake spins around changing from aqua to white! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you are finished with your Holiday preparations! Thanks for stopping by and have a productive Thursday! 🙂

And there are a little less than two more days left until Christmas! Am I ready… nope! I got a few more things accomplished yesterday before I headed into Manhattan for a bit to see Isabella. It was a very rainy and damp day here yesterday and looks to be the same today, but it’s still nice and warm! Heather picked me up from the Hicksville Station with some Wendy’s and we ran over to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I stopped back home for a few minutes before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Tuesday! We had to do it early this week because Thursday is Christmas Eve! A good time was had by all as usual! I finished my card that I was working on when I got home and then was too tired so off to bed. Apparently I was really tired because I woke up late today!

The card for today is a simple shaker! I started off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On a piece of Solar White 80lb I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Green Leaf, Khaki and Fog Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb. To create the shaker I cut out the Hero Arts Large Mason Jar from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed the sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To the back I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of Foam Tape. Some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter is added on top of the image and then I lined it up and adhered the two piece together. A strip of Recollections Sliver Smooth Glitter Paper is adhered to the base and then the shaker panel is adhered next to that. A pretty quick and simple shaker to make but still a fun card to give! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks very much for visiting and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

NYC Coffee Ornament

Yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! There was a steady flow of customers all day and one of them just happened to be Julianne Moore! Talk about nice! Such a sweet lady and just as amazing in person as she is in the movies! Anna and I had some Hummus & Pita Co. for lunch and it was quite tasty, for dessert some Starbucks! Still loving that Holiday Spice Flat White! I also got myself a Starbucks Christmas ornament, the black and gold one! See isn’t it nice…

Starbucks Balck & Gold Holiday 2015

I love the NYC on it! I also managed to stay awake on the train on the way home and got off at my correct stop! Upon arriving home I had a little crafty time and then watched some TV. I’m back in the city again tomorrow to see my friend Isabella for a bit!

My crafty project for last night was another ornament, I know, I’m a little obsessed, but they are so much fun to make! The backing for this one is Ivory 110lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Papertrey Ink Basic Backer Die. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Craft Dies. The skyline is cut form Black 110lb Card Stock with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die and then again with the Nested Circle for a perfect fit. The greeting and coffee cups are form the Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped heat embossed the greeting with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum also cut out with the Nested Circles and the coffee cups are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added some Uni-Ball Gold Gel Pen and Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the black cup and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the red one. I adhered the greeting to the rest of the layers with Multi-Matte Medium and the cups are adhered with Foam Tape. A sprinkling of some Gold Chunky Glitter before I used more Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the ornament half and it’s finished! Here’s a little peek at what it looks like before it’s all put together!

It’s so much fun to put together all of the things for the ornaments and they really do look so cool hanging on the tree! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament for today! Thank you so very much for your visit today! Have an awesome Tuesday everyone! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 217

Happy Friday! Made it through another week! It rained here all day yesterday, but I will take that and 60 degrees over snow any day! I got a late start to my morning, woke up with a headache, never fun. I finally got my act together and went over to my friend Sue’s house to work on some more Etsy stuff. We took a break and had lunch at Panera, I had the Tomato Soup (my favorite) and a grilled cheese, perfect lunch for a rainy day! We stopped at the Post Office and then finished up and I headed home for some dinner with my Parents and Daniel. Daniel and I played with his colored pencils and he told me what color they were and then counted them as he put them back into the container. He’s pretty smart for a two year old! After dinner I came home and worked on some craftiness and then watched a little TV. Pretty good Friday!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I want to thank Amy for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now, here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 217

I of course saw a shaker card! Shocker! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create the shaker I cut out a piece of Mossy Meadow with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles for the outside and the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles for the inside window. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back and then a single layer of Foam Tape goes around to seal in the Chunky Glitter that I actually picked up from the Target Dollar Spot. A piece of Cherry Cobbler is then adhered to the back and seals in all of the sparkly goodness! At the top of the card is the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Token Craft Die that I cut out from three pieces of Solar White 80lb. I adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-purpose Spray Adhesive. For my greeting I stamped the & A Happy New Year from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered that to the card with more Foam Tape. I love the dimension that you get when you adhere the die cuts together and all of the sparkly glitter in the shaker is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I thank you for taking some time to stop by and see what I’m up to today and hope that you have an incredible Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 275

Well, that was avery long but fun day in Manhattan! I took the 7:01 train out of Bethpage and got into Penn Station around 8:00, late as usual. I headed over to Isabella’s and spent the morning with her, always a good time. Her brother is staying with her so I got to meet him, very nice guy. Around 1:00 I headed down to meet Kim for lunch. We went to this little place by her office and I had a delicious sandwich with grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce and olive oil. From there I went over to visit with my friend Barbara, the guy at the front desk in her building called up and said that she wasn’t there so I sat in the lobby. Around 4:25 I got a message from her asking if I got stuck somewhere and I said that I had been in the lobby since 3:50. She came down and got me and had a word with the guy at the front desk! We had a nice visit and are going to have lunch in January. After I left there I headed down to The Ink Pad to get ready for my Tags class. One of Michael’s friends from Brasil is in Manhattan and she came to the class. We had a nice time as always. Here is a picture of the happy class working on their tags…

TIP December Tags Class

And here is a picture of Carol and I…

TIP Carol and I

After class Carol waited with me because she was going the same way as I was so we took the Subway together and I made sure that she headed in the right direction back to her hotel. I made the train at Penn by 1 minute only the get home late because the were delays due to an unauthorized vehicle on the track in New Hyde Park. I finally got home around 11:00, had a cup of coffee and went to bed!

Thankfully I had made my card for today’s post on Monday night and it’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #275

Traditional Christmas colors! My card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the front with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. Down the right side is a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. My greeting and trees are from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered the slope to the card with Foam Tape. The trees are heat embossed with more Silver Pearl on Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Paper Snips. The tree trunks are Soft Suede and they and the middle tree are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The other two tress are adhered with Foam Tape and that’s my card done! I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, so subtle yet neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I’ll have the tags that we made in class for you tomorrow! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 174

Yup, another nice day here again, in the 60’s! This is the best December ever! LOL! I was at Scrap-A-Latte for the day working on crafty things and cutting out some Lawn Fawn Santa Pillow Boxes for Renee. My friend Paul stopped by to visit for a bit, I FaceTimed with Andrea and got speak to Michael for a while! Angie got there around 5:00 to prep for her tags class and we chatted for a bit. Cara came by to refill her selection of chocolates that are for sale for the holidays. I had one of the chocolate covered mini Oreo packs and it was delicious! When I got home I had some dinner at the ‘rents and then came home and finished prepping for my tags class tonight at The Ink Pad. I’m off to Manhattan bright and early this morning to go and see my friend Isabella, have some lunch with Kim and then chill at her apartment until it’s time to head downtown for class. A busy but fun day ahead!

It’s Wednesday so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS174 DT Sketch 12-16-2015

I love the Winter Alpaca Mini Set and Die from Lawn Fawn so I decided that he would be perfect for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set and some Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink to stamp the snow. A strip of the Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh in the Snow 6×6 Paper goes down the right side and is also used for my panel. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Winter Alpaca Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The Alpaca is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with My Copics. I cut him out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts Die and then adhered him with Foam Tape to a piece of Solar White 110lb that I stamped with the snowflakes from the same set again in Fog Ink. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the ends are flagged. Some Foam Tape adheres it and the snowflake that is cut out using the Lawn Fawn Small Snowflakes Lawn Cuts. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on his scarf and the card is done! Like I said, I love that little Alpaca and the greeting is really cute too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery!
