  • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 32

Good morning! How are you all today? I always get better as the week goes along because we are getting closer to Friday! We are supposed to have some nasty weather later on today. They are saying high winds and 2 – 5 inches of snow. Sigh… I would like no more snow please! Sometimes they are wrong, I would like this to be one of those times! 🙂

Wednesday means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This time around we have a fun sketch…

    PCCCCS032 TMM HB 3-06-2013

I wanted to mix some of the old with the new and that’s what I did for this card. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. The background is created with the En Francais Background Stamp inked up in Summer Starfruit and stamped onto Whisper White. The strip of card stock across the top half is Soft Suede that I embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the main image I stamped the script from the French Foliage Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit and then the Eiffel Tower from the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set in Soft Suede. The Oval Collection Framelits Dies are used to cut it out and a piece of Summer Starfruit to back it with. I used the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit to cut out a piece of Pool Party and I adhered all of the pieces together with SNAIL and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flag is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set in Soft Suede and cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. Before I adhered it to the card I flagged the end of a piece of Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon and tucked it underneath the Soft Suede strip. One of the Soda Pop Tops is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot with another image from the French Foliage Stamp Set stamped in Soft Suede and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Sometimes I get so caught up in the creating that I forget how many different products I used until I go and write the post! I used a lot on this one! It has a somewhat clean vintage feel to it and I love the colors together. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge. Don’t forget to go to the Paper Craft Crew blog and see what my fellow DT members have for you this week. As always I would love to see one of your cards in the gallery! Thank you far taking some time out of your day to visit with me. Have a great day! 🙂

So here we are at Tuesday. I try to think of new ways to start the post all the time, it’s not easy! LOL! I do want to take a minute to thank all of you for leaving comments (I respond to every one!) and for your “likes”. When I say that I do this for all of you I really do mean it. Your comments and visits keep me wanting to do more! So thank you all very much!! It was windy and chilly but sunny here yesterday. They are saying snow possible on Wednesday night again but we put the clocks forward this weekend so spring is getting closer!

Tuesday means it’s Mojo Monday time. This week we have a sketch from Carole Burrage…

    Mojo283

I know I have said it before but sometimes I just look at a sketch and the whole card just appears in my mind. I LOVE when that happens! The base of today’s card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. For the background and the panels I used some Tea for Two Designer Series Paper. It has a very nice and really coordinated assortment of vintage patterns and really great colors. The stamped image is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is Stamped in Early Espresso, cut out with a Sizzix Circle Framelit, and again in Lucky Limeade and cut out with my Paper Snips. All of the pieces are mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A little Soda Pop Top with the butterfly image from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the 1/2″Circle Punch is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. I really love the simplicity of the card and I always like a little fussy cutting! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Thanks again for stopping by and for you comments, I hope you all have a fantastic day! 🙂

  • SplitCoast Creative Crew March Challenges

Oh Monday, why must you arrive so soon?! Did you all have a good weekend? Mine was pretty good. I mentioned that I was going to the Chocolate Expo yesterday and I have to tell you I was not impressed. The place was way too small and there were far too many people and not nearly enough vendors. I think I will cross that off my list for next year! We did go to lunch after and that was fun, so not a total loss!

Today I have my cards for this month’s SplitCoast Creative Crew Challenges. The challenges are quite fun, I have a really good time making the cards for them. They also have a scrapbook page challenge, but I don’t do that one, I will one day! There are three cards in all so let’s get to the first one.

First up I have the card for the Holiday Focus and here is the challenge: Holiday Focus: Travel the road of words. Quote someone. Over the years Stampin’ Up! has quoted many people in their stamp. Use a wonderful quote as a focal point in your project. (You may use any quote that SU! has ever produced, even retired, but you must let us know the year of the stamp and the stampset name.)

I choose the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set and the quote is: “Do your little bit of good where you are. It’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world” -Desmond Tutu. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Window Sheet in Staz-On Opaque White Ink. Along the bottom I adhered a piece of cork shelf liner that I picked up from a home improvement store. The balloons are from the Collage Curios Stamp Set and are stamped in Tangerine Tango and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the Window Sheet. The card itself is a piece of Pacific Point Card stock. I stamped the image from The Open Sea Stamp Set in Pacific Point that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I like when you look at the card the balloons seem to float over it. They are like the little bits of good!

    CCREW0313HF

    CCREW0313HF-2

The second card I have for you is for the Catalog Focus Challenge which is: Catalog Focus: Check out the Fan Fair Product Suite in the IBC, pp.106-117. Romance us with Elements of Style or Everything Eleanor. Take us away with Postage Due or Papillon Potpourri. Intrigue us with Daydream Medallions or Nature’s Price. Choose any of the beautiful stamp sets in this suite and amaze us!

I thought it would be neat to mix some of the suite with some Sale-A-Bration. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The main panel is a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper that I backed with a piece of Crumb Cake for a little more heft. I stamped the phone box from the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set in Riding Hood Red and the greeting is from the Vintage Verses, stamped in Island Indigo. The stamps along the edge are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Riding Hood Red and Island Indigo, I punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The main panel is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little extra I stamped the tickets from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set in More Mustard, punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and held them in place with a clip from the Hung Up Cute Clips Set. I really like the way that all 0f the sets work so well together!

    CCREW0313DF

The third and final card is for the DSP Challenge:DSP/Color Focus: Let’s soar with the wonderful Fan Fair DSP and Island Indigo, which will be gone soon. Create a project with Island indigo and Fan Fair DSP or some of the colors in that DSP. You must use island indigo, though.

A simple birthday card was my thinking for  this challenge. The base of the card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used a piece of the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper and backed it with a piece of Island Indigo. The Gossamer Lace Wood Mount Stamp is stamped in Sahara Sand and I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the edge. The greeting is from the Best of Birthday’s Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo, I punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Both pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It needed a little something more so I cut out some Riding Hood Red with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and adhered them with some Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. I really like the Gossamer Lace as a backdrop and the piercing looks pretty neat around it.

    CCREW0313DF

I hope that you enjoyed my cards for this month’s SplitCoast Creative Crew Challenge. Head on over to the gallery and see all of the other great projects the rest of the Design Team has come up with. You should play along too and have some fun! Hope to see your creations there. Thanks for taking some time to spend with me today. I hope that you all have a good Monday!

  • Paper Player 135 🙂

Hello there! Sunday already, boy these weekends move pretty fast! I had a semi-productive Saturday. I finally got a much needed haircut, I was looking like I don’t know what! I puttered around the house and played at the craft desk for a bit which I don’t normally get to do. Most of the time when I sit there it’s for a project or challenge, it’s nice to just mess around! This morning I’m going to a chocolate show by the Cradle of Aviation out here on Long Island with my friend Danielle. I do love some chocolate! How was your day, what’s on tap for today?

Sunday means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. First, congratulations to Danielle (different one! LOL!) for being my pick for Cut Above last week. I love her CAS card using one of my current favorite sets, Sent with Love. Now this week we have a theme challenge from the lovely LeAnne…

    Paper Players 135 Theme 3-03-2013

I have to admit that I was at a loss when I first saw this one. I thought hmm… I knew I should have gotten that Hoop La-La Set! After pondering it for a bit I remembered that I do have something stitched! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is made up of 1/2″ strips of Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Gumball Green, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Perfect Plum Card Stock. Wow, that was a lot of colors! I ran each one through the Big Shot using the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I adhered them all to a piece of Crumb Cake (I don’t know why I choose that color!) with SNAIL and then trimmed off the excess on either side. The greeting is from the Sunshine Single Clear Mount Stamp and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I backed it with a piece of Perfect Plum and adhered the panel to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought it needed a little something more so I stamped the sun from the Spring Sampler Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight and cut him out. Another Stampin’ Dimensional holds him in place. I can honestly say that is the most colors I have ever used on a card, but that’s what a rainbow is all about right?!?! I hope that you enjoyed my bright happy Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s challenge from LeAnne. Hop on over to the Paper Players blog to see what my other peeps have come up with and enter a card of your own to share with us! Thank you for spending some time with me today and enjoy yours!

  • Fab Friday 13

Welcome to Saturday! I’ll be your host for the next few minutes! The weather here yesterday was partly sunny and a little chilly but not freezing, so it was a nice day. Work was somewhat torturous as it usually is but it’s to be expected. I hope that you all had a good week and have some fun planned for the weekend. I am going to lay low and see what I can get accomplished around the house.

Before we get to today’s project I have some fantastic news to share with you! Stampin’ Up! has released their first Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s called Designer Typeset! The awesome thing about Photopolymer Stamps is that they are completely clear so you can see exactly where you are stamping. They are perfect for… yes, an alphabet! They also work great with our new Firm Foam Stampin’ Pads. This is a limited trial release so make sure you get one while you can, for only $13.95 for a 57 piece stamp set how can you not give them a try?!?! I think you are going to love them. Every other Saturday I have a Fab Friday card for you and today is no exception. This time around we have a sketch…

    Fab Friday Sketch 13

I really wanted to do a butterfly but as you can see from the sketch that was too obvious! I went with a favorite single stamp of mine instead. The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I used apiece of paper from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper Pack for the flagged piece in the middle. Next up I cut out a piece of Calypso Coral with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies, cut it in half, and did a little piercing with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The image is from the World’s Greatest Stamp and is stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White. I cut out the image with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and did some piercing along the top and bottom. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give it a little sparkle and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The friend is form the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo right on the DSP. World’s Greatest… Friend! I hope that you enjoyed my Fab Friday challenge card. Thanks for visiting, you guys are awesome! Have a great day!

  • Create with Connie and Mary 241

Woo hoo… we made it!! It’s Friday!! I know, I get way too excited about Friday! But I loves me some Friday!! Today is also pretty awesome because it’s my Dad’s birthday! Happy Birthday Dad!! He is by far the most amazing man I have ever met. He helps out everyone and is just awesome. I’m very lucky to have the parents that I have. Let’s see… what else… oh, weather! LOL! It was overcast yesterday but didn’t really rain as much it spit all day on and off. We are supposed to get some peeks of sun today. Even Mother Nature is happy it’s Friday!

Now on to today’s post which is for the ladies over at Create with Connie and Mary. This week we have a sketch…

    CCMC 241

Hmm… I seem to think I have seen postage stamp shapes somewhere else recently… love them! I opted to turn the sketch sideways too. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the base I used some Sticky Strip to adhere the Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon around the back and tied a piece of Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon on it. The stamped images are all from the Ciao, Baby! Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo and Calypso Coral. I punched them out with the Petite Curly Label Punch that is in Sale-A-Bration now but will be in the new Annual Catalog too! Each of the stamped images are backed with Calypso Coral or Island Indigo that I punched out with the Curly Label Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them on the card. I love the Ciao, Baby! Stamps and the Petite Curly Label Punch. The fact that you can get it for free now is pretty awesome too! I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge card fort this week. Thank you for visiting and have an awesome Friday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches #75

So here we are at Thursday, only one more day until the weekend! Not a lot of interesting stuff going on here. It rained most of the day yesterday but the sun finally peeked out around 3:00pm. Winston is sleeping next to me, and snoring a little like he always does. He keeps me company all the time, he’s my little buddy!

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week we have a sketch from Tui…

    Freshly Made Sketches #75

Three panels to play with. I decided that some bright colors were in order to chase away yesterday’s grey skies. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The panel to the left is a piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the flowers from the Secret Garden Stamp Set in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla and cut them out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. They are adhered to the panel with SNAIL. The panel in the middle is Raspberry Ripple that I stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Raspberry Ripple. I choose the greeting from the From My Heart Stamp Set and cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the greeting and the panel to the card. The flag is from the same Designer Series Paper for a little balance. I love the way the greeting fits inside the floral frame, it’s like it made to! I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s sketch from Tui. Thanks, as always for visiting. Have an awesome day!

  • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 31

Woo hoo! We made it to Wednesday! How are you all today? I’m doing good. I’m thinking that I need a mental health day soon, so much to do and no where near enough time to get it all done! It’s raining here this morning and did all last night but I’ll take rain any day over snow! And the wind… let’s not even mention the wind! How is the weather where you are? Hopefully it’s pleasant and sunny!

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a super clean and simple one…

    PCCCCS031 TCC 2-27-2013

I love this sketch! As soon as I saw it I thought the little squares look just like stamps and I get to use my current favorite stamp set! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the greeting in the lower right corner from the Sent with Love Stamp Set in Midnight Muse. The background is a piece of paper from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. The images that represent the squares are also form the Sent with Love Stamp Set. I stamped them in Soft Suede and Midnight Muse and punched them out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super simple. This would make a great workshop card or a quick Thank You card! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what my fellow design team members have come up with and enter your card so I can take a look! Thank you so much for your time today, I hope you have a great day! 🙂

  • Mojo 282

Well, that Monday felt longer than the whole weekend! How was your Monday? It was actually a pretty nice day here yesterday but all good things must come to an end and it’s supposed to start raining here later on today. I spoke to my friend Angie in Missouri today and she said they had a ton of snow and are supposed to get more, I told her better her than me!

It’s Tuesday so that means it’s Mojo Monday for today’s post. This week we have a lovely sketch from Julee Tllman…

    Mojo282

As always, I chose square, 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 to be exact! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped some images from the Clockworks Stamp Set in Midnight Muse. Some Soft Suede is embossed with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and flagged on the right side. The celebrate is form the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration and is also stamped in Midnight Muse on River Rock and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the pocket watch in Soft Suede on River Rock and cut it out with my Paper Snips. The 1 1/4″ Circle punch punches out the middle perfectly. The clock face is stamped in Midnight Muse on Whisper White and is punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and adhered to the back with some 2-Way Glue. I stamped the hands and cut them out with my Paper Snips too. A Metallic 3/16″ Brad holds it to the face and a Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the card. Some great neutrals paired with Midnight Muse and you have an awesome masculine birthday card. I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Thanks so much for taking some time to stop by today. Have yourselves a great day! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 153

I say it every Monday but the weekend just flew by! I was in Manhattan yesterday morning, I slept late so I missed breakfast but did have lunch with Kimmie. I took the train in so I got some stuff done on my iPad which was nice. The subway at 34th Street smelled unusually like a bathroom today, always a pleasant way to begin a ride. I hope that you all had a nice weekend, albeit a short one. 🙂

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts sketch. First, thank you to Mary Fish (one of the first blogs I followed!) for choosing my card for her pick! You can see the winners list on Pals site here and my original post here. Now for today’s card we have a sketch from Margaret Moody…

    PPA 153

I decided to keep my card very monochrome. The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. I rounded three of the corners with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and did the same to the Whisper White background piece. The Let’s Celebrate and the cake are from the Make a Wish Stamp Set and both are stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The cake is cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and backed with a piece of Rich Razzleberry, also cut out with the Ovals, and pierced around the edge with the Occasion Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The two strips of paper are from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper Pack from Sale-A-Bration. The only thing left to do was adhere the cake to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The simplicity of the card and the monochromatic color makes it good for a a guy or a girl. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts card. Thank you for checking and have yourselves a pleasant day!
