Happy Valentine’s Day!

The title says it all! Happy Valentine’s Day to you! I’m so happy that I get to share my creativity with you every day! I love that you visit and leave comments. I have gotten to know some of you and I love that too! I guess there is a lot of love going around. Today I have two Valentine’s projects for you. The first one is a banner and the second one is a 3×3 card.

The first one up is a Valentine’s banner. I do like to make a banner from time to time as you know! I used Pool Party, Real Red and Pretty in Pink Card Stock. The flagged backgrounds for each of the panels is Real Red and Pretty in Pink. I embossed each one with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the two end panels I used some More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper to make two rosettes. On top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. I stamped the Love Heart in Primrose Petals and punched them out with the Full Heart Punch. Each of the letters is from the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and they are also stamped in Primrose Petals. I used my Paper Snips to cut each one out and backed them with a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. All of them are then adhered to the flagged pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The string is a piece of “Vintage” Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and I punched out some more Pool Party with the Modern Label Punch and folded them in half to hang them. I really like the colors and the two larger end pieces on the banner. It looks pretty neat hanging above my craft area!

The second project is a 3×3 card that would be great to give to a special co-worker or slip into your child’s lunch. The base is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. Two flagged pieces of More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper are adhered behind the heart that I cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies from Primrose Petals and embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The heart in the center is stamped in Pool Party on Pool Party and also cut out with the framelits. The greeting is from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. All of the elements are adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a cute little card with a lot of wow for it’s size!

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 29

Good Wednesday morning my peeps! How are you today? I’m ok, I have a toothache. Thankfully I took some Ibuprofen and it helped. I guess I will be going to the Dentist. I really don’t like the dentist. I guess I had a bad experience when I was little because I have a un-natural fear. Wish me luck! On the weather front, we didn’t get any snow today, I was mistaken. It’s supposed to happen tonight with anywhere from 1″ to 3″. I’m hoping for the 1″ if any!

Today, being Wednesday, means it time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a sketch…

Since Valentine’s Day is tomorrow I went with a love theme. The base of my card starts off with a piece of Real Red Card Stock and the background is just a plain piece of Crumb Cake. Up in the right hand corner we have a piece of Whisper White that I stamped in Real Red using the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set and I cut it out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. The ticket is from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set and is also stamped in Real Red. I punched it out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and put a piece of Real Red behind it and ticketed the corners with the Small Heart Punch. A Tea Lace Doily serves as a background for my pair of Real Red hearts that I cut out with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little sparkle I punched a piece of Red Glimmer Paper out with the Small Heart punch and adhered that too with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I like the simplicity of the card but it also has just enough to not be too simple. I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week. Hello peeps! How was your Monday? Mine was ok. It rained here all day and was really foggy. Not as much of the snow melted as I had hoped. It’s supposed to snow a little more tonight and maybe some more on Saturday. Sigh… I really am done with winter! I can’t wait for the warmer weather so I can put the top down in my car again!

For today’s post I have my Mojo Monday Sketch challenge card for you. This week Julee Tilman has give us this sketch…

I really love the new Sent With Love Bundle so I decided to use it on my card today. The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock. I used a strip of paper from the Sent With Love Designer Series Paper across the lower half of the card and on the panel in the middle as well. I adhered the piece in the middle to a piece of Whisper White to give it a little more thickness so I could adhere the “vintage” Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon on a diagonal around the back. The piece of Calypso Coral along the bottom is punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. For the main panel of Pool Party I stamped the dashed line from the Sent With Love Stamp Set in Island Indigo. The greeting is from the Essentials Wood Mount Stamp Set and is also stamped in Island Indigo. I stamped the stamp image in Island Indigo and punched it out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The heart is a piece of Red Glimmer Paper and that is punched out with the Small Heart Punch. The final stamped image is also from the Sent With Love Stamp Set and is stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. I love all of the images and patterns in the bundle and I hope you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. Thanks very much for spending some time with me today. Pals Paper Arts 152

Ahh… back to Monday we go! Well that was some weekend her on Long Island. Between the snow and the lack of snow removal getting around has been fun. It’s raining today so hopefully that will get rid of the white stuff. I’m sure it will cause some other issues, like flooding, but what can you do? I had a nice weekend all in all. I got some crafting done and I’m actually almost caught up! I’m sure that won’t last long! But I love it!

Today I have a card that I made for the Pals Paper Arts challenge. This time they have provided a color challenge…

Some Primrose, Pool Party and Red, a good color combo indeed. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped the greeting in Real Red from the Curly Cute Stamp Set right on the base. The strip across the bottom starts off with a piece of Primrose Petals. On top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flowers are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and Real Red. I used the Secret Garden Framelits Dies to cut out the flowers and adhered them to the strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a nice clean card with just enough detail to make it fun. The Paper Players #132 🙂

Hello from the tundra! There were a lot of snowblowers running yesterday around here. My car was dug out early and I ventured out to help my friend Heather dig out. We had some Subway for lunch and then I stopped to see Kim and came home and did some crafting. One of my friends is in Florida, one cousin is in Mexico and another is in Australia. I have to say that I am jealous on three counts! I would rather be anywhere but here right now!

On a positive note it’s Sunday and that means it’s time for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week the lovely Ann has given us a color challenge…

I have to say that these are favorites of mine! I reached for the Patio Party Designer Series Paper first and then I thought no, I’m gonna think outside the box! The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack for the background. The greeting is from two sets, The Best of Love Stamp Set and the You Rule Stamp Set, both are stamped in Primrose Petals on the DSP. The crown is also form the You Rule Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and added just a few, well maybe a lot, of Basic Jewels Rhinestones and Large Basic Jewels Rhinestones to give it the much needed bling that it deserves! Who wouldn’t want to get this blinged out card for a thank you or a birthday?! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Players Guest Designer Card for this week’s color challenge from Ann. Freshly Made Sketches #72

Hello from really snowy Long Island. Boy did we get walloped last night! I think we got about 16 inches of snow. 🙁 I will not be leaving the house today, my car doesn’t like the snow at all. When I let Winston out last night at 11:45 it was a blizzard. Sigh, guess I’ll get a lot of stuff done around the house today! I did watch Skyfall last night and I have to say that I really enjoyed it, but I’m a big James Bond fan so my opinion may be a little swayed!

Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Cindy has provided us with this sketch…

This was one of those cards that as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I was going to use. I got some new goodies from Mr. Brown today so I used some of those too! The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used some Whisper White that I stamped with an image from the new Sent With Love Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler for the top half of the background. The bottom half is a piece of the Sent With Love Designer Series Paper. Across the middle is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting is from the Dude, You’re Welcome Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with my Paper Snips. For a little added detail I stamped another one of the images from the Sent With Love Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and tilted it ever so slightly for a little imperfect tag on a package look! I love the Sent With Love Stamps and DSP. I have wanted a plane for the longest time and the patterns in the DSP are great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Create with Connie and Mary 238

Happy Friday everyone! Did you all enjoy the Stylin’ Stampin’ Blog Tour yesterday? I liked doing some cards with fabric, it was a nice change of pace. What is on for the weekend? We are supposed to get up tp 18 inches of snow here tomorrow night so it looks like if that’s true I’ll be crafting a lot this weekend and I have no problem with that at all! I’m hoping that they are wrong because we all know how I feel about snow!

Today I have my Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card for you. This week we have an In-Color challenge…

I was feeling something super clean and simple so this is what I came up with. The base of the card is Calypso Coral Card Stock. I took a piece of Whisper White and drew a line up on the left side 1″ in to help me line up the stamp from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set that I inked up in Calypso Coral. I used a Hi-Polymer Eraser to erase the line when I was done. They are great because they leave no trace behind at all. If you don’t have one you really should get one! The greetings are from the Ciao, Baby! Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade. I used the Petite Curly Label Punch to punch them out and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super clean and simple. Stylin’ Stampin’ Blog Tour February 2013
Good morning! How are you today? Everything is chugging right along this week so no complaints from me! Today I have my post for this month’s Stylin’ Stampin’ Blog Tour. This month we are featuring projects that use fabric. You may have arrived here from Kim Ryden’s blog. She had some neat projects didn’t she?! Today I have two cards for you and both contain some linen fabric.

First up I have what I like to call the mummy card. The card starts off with a base of Primrose Petals Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of River Rock, which has to be my most under used color. To give it a little extra detail I used the Essential Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to make the scallop along the bottom. The panel is created with some linen fabric that I picked up at a craft store. I cut it into strip and used some Sticky Strip to hold it in place around the back and also to adhere it to the card. The little bandaids are form the Patterned Occasions Stamp Set and are stamped in River Rock and Primrose Petals. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the linen strips with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is form the same set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Word Window Punch. I really like the Primrose with the River Rock. They go quite nicely together. After seeing the card you can see why I call it the mummy card!

Next up is a card that contains an item that I forgot I had and it’s the first time I’m using it! The base of this card is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Whisper White with The Lattice Bigz Die and backed it with a piece of Bashful Blue. Before I adhered it to the Gumball Green piece I used some White Stampin’ Emboss Powder to emboss the Thanks so much form the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set. The butterfly is a piece of burlap that I cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Bgz L Die. For the body I made a paper bead from some First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. A Mini Glue Dot holds the butterfly and body in place. The flower is some more of the linen fabric that I used on the first card that I cut out with the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die. I used a Stampin’ Spritzer that I filled with some Primrose Petals Re-Inker and half water and half rubbing alcohol to spray the flowers to color them. I put them under my desk lamp to speed the drying and they curled up a little which I was quite happy about. I used some more Mini Glue Dots to hold them on the card and a Large Basic Jewel Pearl is placed in the middle. The card has a nice slightly vintage yet modern feel about it. I really did like making the flower, it was fun!

Hello there! One day down, four more to go! How was your Monday? Mine was actually pretty good. I had techniques class last night and we always have a great time. I have to say that if I could craft all day I would be the happiest person on the planet! Steve Jobs once said that “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.” I have definitely found what I want to do!!

Tuesday means it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday post. Julee Tilman has provided us with a nice sketch this week…

I have some more Valentine’s cards to make so I thought this would be a great sketch for that. I used my favorite stamp set, that unfortunately didn’t carry over, Affection Collection. My card starts off with a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is created with a piece of Pool Party embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the square of Primrose Petals on top of that I used the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The piece of paper is from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack and is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A thin piece of Basic Gray is embossed with the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The greeting and the image behind the greeting are from the Affection Collection Stamp Set (Vintage). I stamped the scalloped image in Pool Party and cut it out with my Paper Snips. The love is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A button from the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack has some Pool Party Bakers Twine threaded through and is adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. I love the way that all of the elements of the card go together and the Pool Party/Primrose Petals color combo with the slivers of Basic Gray is just great. Splitcoast Creative Crew February Challenges

Monday… back again! That weekend really flew by! What did you all do for the Super Bowl? I went to my friends house and had a good laugh and played with the little ones. It’s always a good time! I have to order my February 25th Anniversary Stamp Set and the Sent with Love bundle, I can’t wait to get that little plane! Did you order yours yet?!

For today’s post I have my Splitcoast Creative Crew projects for the February challenges. They come up with some good ones over there! I’m going to show you each card and then the products separately at the end. 🙂

My first card is f0r the Focus Challenge. They choose a doily as the product focus this month. I could be a stamped, punched or a paper one, I choose the new Tea Lace Paper Doilies for my project. The base of this card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Distressed Dots Background Stamp, inked in Certainly Celery, with some Certainly Celery for my background. Next, I adhered a Tea Lace Paper Doily to the card with SNAIL. The tea cup, and all of the other stamps, are from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set. The tea cup is stamped in Versa-Mark on Certainly Celery and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used my Sponge Daubers to “color in” some areas using the emboss resist technique with Wisteria Wonder. The greeting at the top is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. I backed it with a piece of Whisper White that i cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The tea bag is stamped in Wisteria Wonder on Certainly Celery and punched out with the Large Tag Punch (Vintage) and backed with a piece of Whisper White punched out withe the Extra Large Tag Punch. I punched a hole in the top and used some Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine for the string. I love the Tea Shoppe stamps with the Tea Lace Paper Doilies, they make a fun card!

Next up we have a Color Challenge. The colors are Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand on Sahara Sand for the background. The greeting and the butterflies are from the Cross My Heart Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Raspberry Ripple and cut out with my Paper Snips. For the butterflies I stamped them in Primrose Petals and punched them out with the 1″ Square Punch. Some Pretty in Pink is punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and used to back the butterflies. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the postage stamps work well around the greeting and I like the woodgrain background.

For my final card we had a Holiday Challenge. I went with Valentine’s Day since it the next one! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The hearts and flag are form the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set. The large scallop heart is stamped in Primrose Petals, the smaller heart in Pool Party on Pool Party and the flagged one in Primrose Petals. They are all cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Collection Dies. The tickets are from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set and are also stamped in Primrose Petals and I punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the tickets and the Honeycomb folder is definitely one of my favorites!
