Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek

Happy Sunday! My work Holiday party was a lot of fun last night! There were a ton of people there and some delicious food. They play a “Bad Santa” game where you bring a wrapped gift and then you pick a number to decided your turn to choose. You can pick a new gift or steal one from someone else. The person that picks number one gets to go at the end and take whatever they want! I ended up with a Google Chromcast with a little help from some friends! Like I said lots of fun! Here are a few pictures from last night. I’m also sporting my new haircut! LOL!

Danielle & Me CL 2013

This is Danielle and I in front of the fireplace, they did a really nice job decorating their house!

Ant Nic & Me CL 2013

Here I am with Anthony and Nicole, like I said a really good time! 🙂

For today’s post I have a card that I made for Danielle’s mom’s birthday. I CASE’d the tag from the 2014 Occasions Catalog. I thought it would make a nice focal point for a card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Strawberry Slush backed with a piece of Brushed Gold for my background. The tag is created with a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum* backed with a piece of Whisper White. I punched two holes in the top and threaded some Whisper White Bakers Twine through and tied it in a bow. The greeting is from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Strawberry Slush and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the pieces to the card. I really like that even though it’s a simple card the greeting and the Designer Vellum give it a little wow! Thanks so much for stopping by to see my card and I hope that you enjoyed the pictures too! Have a great Sunday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin! LOVE this card! That strawberry slush is gorgeous with the gold and the velum paper!! The recipient will just love it! I can’t get enough of the starburst framelits! Sounds like a fun time at your work party. And so nice that we get to see Danielle, since she’s mentioned oh, a time or two, in your blog! A nice pic of all of you! Enjoy your Sunday!

    1. Thank you Karen! I really am loving those Starburst Framelits! Yes, the work party was fun! Danielle is great and nice and easy on the eyes! LOL! Have a great day! 🙂

  2. I have a little great, great niece that absolutely loves pink and boy, this card would be perfect for her. That fancy foil designer paper is fabulous and I can see uses for it for ANY occasion. Justin, I love that you share photos with us. Just reading about all you do that is so much fun. It reminds me of the “good old days” when I was young, energetic and loved to party. I have a question – what is a Google Chromecast? I have Google Chrome on my computer but don’t know what a Chromecast is. Thanks in advance. Your friends house looks fantastic and the decorations are beautiful. Glad you had such a great time.

Right now we have about 18″ of snow on the ground and it’s still snowing like crazy. According to the porch thermometer it is 6 degrees (better than the 2 degrees I woke up to) out there. Good day to stay inside, drink hot chocolate and stamp.

    1. Thanks Grace! The Fancy Foil Vellum is so much fun and yes, will work for so many different things! I’m happy that you enjoy reading about my adventures, I love sharing them with you! My friends did do a fantastic job with their house, it eclectic but so pretty!
Google Chromecast is a little device that you add to your TV’s HDMI connection so you share things on your TV from your phone or Google Browser on your computer.
That’s a lot of snow! Yes, I will be stamping today, trying to get my Christmas card finished before they become New Year’s cards! LOL! Have a great day! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin,
Love it! Makes for a very powerful ladies card! I made some of my Christmas cards using the Strawberry Slush ink and paper. Along with the Festive Flurry stamps and die cuts, and if I must say, they turned out really awesome! Anyway, great job as always. I can’t wait to receive the new catalog. Did you get any snow? We got at least 6 in. Take care and have a great day! Donna

    1. Hello Donna!

Thanks! Yes, definitely powerful, it sort of reminds me of a marquee for some reason. I’m so happy to hear that you are happy with your non-traditional Christmas cards! We did get some snow and then it rained late last night and thankfully washed most of it away! I hope that you enjoyed your Sunday! 🙂

    1. Thank you Lisa! I like the bright with the gold, it’s definitely fun! The Starburst Framelits are my fave too! Glad you enjoyed the pics too! Have a good evening! 🙂

  4. Great card, Justin! Love the color combo and the coordinated polka dots.

Sounds like you had a great time at your holiday party. Great haircut, BTW!

  5. Here I have been following you or are you following me on Pinterest 🙂 Just found you blog and now have a face to match. Just love this card that I had to order the gold vellum in the catalog!! Thanks for the great idea!
