Glad to see that you are all here in one piece and survived your Monday! Mine was ok, I got stuff done and ran an errand for work to Michaels. After dinner I went to IKEA to exchange my blinds and ended up buying a Christmas Tree. It looks ver realistic, sort of sparse. I have been looking for a tree like this one for a while and it wasn’t a fortune which was an added bonus! I think it will go up early tis year to encourage me to make the ornaments for it! That Curvy Keepsake Thinlit will make some great ones! Come to think of it the Stars Framelits will come in handy too! See, now I can’t wait to get started on them! We’ll see how long that lasts! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. It’s a nice different one from Sarah Bigelow…

I was tempted to use the Large Scallop Edgelit but though I could come up with something a little more creative! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The top of the card has a piece of Basic Black that I heat embossed the sentiment from the Sumthin’ Sumthin Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I threaded a piece of the Silver 1/8″ Ribbon through one of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons and adhered it around the back with some Sticky Strip. The bottom is four 2″ strips of the Gold and Silver Foil Sheet. I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch out the top of each one and adhered them over the Basic Black. A few Frosted Sequins in the upper right complete the card. I have wanted to used some silver and gold together for a while. I think this would make a great card for a birthday or party invitation! Not overly complicated but fun and elegant! I hope you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Your visit, as always, is appreciated and I wish you all a terrific Tuesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hi Justin, you are so right about the versatility of this card…birthday, anniversary, invitation (how about a New Years party)… You should have one now! Sounds like you have a new major project making ornaments for you new tree. You could also use the snowflake framelits from last year…the possibilities are endless…too bad having enough time isn’t. Hope you will share your progress. Have a wonderful day.

    1. Thanks you Roseanne! Yes, it definitely would be good for New Year’s party! I just might have one! I am looking forward to making the ornaments, where I will fit it in remains to be seen! LOL! Yes, the snowflake will be great! I really do wish there was more time!! I will definitely share my progress! I hope that you too enjoyed your day! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hey Justin! Great card for today! I’m loving all the bright and shiny! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m still trying to figure out how you threaded that ribbon through those teeny, tiny holes! I think gold and silver together is a wonderful combo and love the way you grounded it with the black. Have a super day—it’s another rainy, dreary day here. Great day for creating!

    1. Hey Karen!
Thank you! It is definitely bright and shiny! I used a needle to get the ribbon through! I have been wanting to use silver and gold together for a while, and now I have! Black is just great, especially with metallics! It was a beautiful day here! Hope tomorrow’s weather is better! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ooooooh….I love the gold and silver together! Gorgeous, simple, but what an impact. I have been working on Halloween cards — two down and now for the assembly line of simpler ones. I too have high hopes for making tree ornaments using various framelits and glimmer & specialty papers. I finally have my dps & specialty papers organized, but I have yet to tackle stamp sets. What a coward I am! Rain, rain, and more rain here in the Ohio valley. Good days for cleaning out stuff. Both hubby and his knee and puppy and her training are coming along just fine. Enjoy your week in spite of the rain! Nancy B

    1. Yeah! Thank you Nancy! You sound like you have been very busy! My hope for ornaments is right up there with you! LOL! We are all a little cowardly! I need to get my papers organized, I have to hunt for stuff way too often now! I’m glad to hear that everyone is coming along in your house! We had a great day here today, rain tomorrow! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Oh my Justin – I am sooooooo impressed with this amazingly elegant card. I would love to receive that from the hubs on our anniversary, especially if the inside said “Dinner and Dancing await”. LOL I can dream right? All kidding aside I think this card is absolutely one of the most elegant cards I’ve ever seen and Roseanne is right, it’s fit for any occasion.

Glad your Monday wasn’t dreadful and hope the rest of the week is really great. I love the idea that you are going to make all the ornaments for your tree. That will make it so very special. When I was in my first apartment I bought a small 4 foot tree, a bunch of ribbon and a ton of styrofoam balls. I invited several of my friends over and we had a “make an ornament” party. At that time I hadn’t even heard of rubber stamping and had very little money so each of my friends brought some decorating stuff with them – glitter, ribbon, sequins, buttons – all kinds of stuff. We spent the evening making ornaments and the next night they returned (the glue had to dry on the ornaments), brought pot luck and we ate, sang and decorated the tree together. Kind of corny but we had a great time. Thanks for bringing back that memory for me Justin. I’m sure I’ll be thinking and smiling about that all day.

Have a wonderfully amazing day my friend. Hugs.

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you so much! Yes, it would be a lovely card to receive for an anniversary! I love the inside, and maybe it won’t be a dream!
I am back to making things as good as I can. I get discouraged every once in a while, but it’s time to pick myself up again! I really am hoping that I can get the ornaments made. I love your memory of making ornaments! What a wonderful way to spend time with friends! I can almost see it all happening, so nice! You made me think about your memory and smile along with you all day!
I hope that you had a lovely day my friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

      XO
