Pals Paper Arts 231

Yes, the bed got the best of me again this morning! I guess with cooler weather and the warm bed it’s just a little harder to get out of it these days! Yesterday was another crazy day at the office. After work I came home and had some dinner. Heather called and asked if I would like to go and see Patti with her so Taylor and I took a ride out to Bohemia with her. We had a nice time as always. I got home around 11:00 and decided that I would make my card for today. It’s a simple Saturday card! Today Andrew and I are going to deal with his hard drive and install a new one and come up with a better backup plan. I’m also going to take a ride out and see my friend Renee at her new scrapbook store! That will be fun! Michael has made a few Hanukkah cards and a really cool menorah so take a minute to go and see them HERE. I love the menorah, so different!

Like I said, today is a simple Saturday card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

Some of my favorite colors! I thought about what I wanted to do on the way home last night and this is what I came up with. My card base is Soft Sky Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Bermuda Bay and stamped the Birthday from the Yee-Haw Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Ballon Framelits* are used to cut out the negative ballon from the background and the panel is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My other balloons are from the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set*. I heat embossed one in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and the other one with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Again, the Ballon Framelits* are used the cut them and the banner, also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, out. The gold ballon is adhered to the background with 2-Way Glue and the Pool Party one with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I was going to tie some White Baker’s Twine around the balloons but decided that I wanted to keep the card as simple as possible. I love the balloons heat embossed, they are nice and shiny just like real balloons! So there is my simple Saturday card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I hope that you enjoyed it and the continued sneak peeks at products form the upcoming 2015 Occasions Catalog! Thanks, as always for coming by to see me. I wish you all a simple, sun Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Very cute card! Looks like one that Daniel would like! Balloon framelits? SU has to stop coming up with so many cool ideas! Well, back to work for me, wrapping gifts, cleaning up — it never ends…hope Andrew gets his problem worked out! Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, I’m sure that Daniel would love it! I agree, Stampin’ Up! has some really cool stuff in the new catalogs! Hope that you got all of your stuff done! We did get Andrew’s computer back! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Absolutely fabulous birthday card. I love that you have three different balloons and each compliments the other – one negative, one vellum and one dimensional. Very artistic indeed Justin. If I tried to make a card that late at night – well, it sure wouldn’t look very good. LOL

A sun Saturday would have been nice except we woke up to more snow. Yes, I love the “clean the world” look that snow brings, and yes I love the cooler weather and yes I love looking out at the amazing birds on the feeders but, once in a while, I need a day when the driveway and street aren’t covered in snow so that I can go out and run errands without worrying about some idiot thinking his/her SUV can stop quickly in the white stuff because they can drive in the white stuff. Enough said! LOL

We are all rooting for Andrew to get back his PC info and yes, he needs to get a portable drive for back up. I know they are a bit pricey but it sure beats losing all your info.

Have a wonderful weekend my friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks so much Grace! LOL! Sometimes my best cards are made really late at night!
Ugh! More snow! I know that you like the winter but I think this is too much too early even for you! People with SUV’s are immune to snow, didn’t you know that?! LOL!
Andrew’s computer is back up and running and he only lost stuff since the last time that he backed up. He has a drive but we will make it so that he doesn’t have to think about backing ti up, it will just happen.
I hope hat you are enjoying your weekend my friend! Hugs! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Justin, Great card!! Love the gold embossing!!! The banners look fabulous! Gotta order this stamp set.. Thanks again!

  4. Hi Justin! Cool card today…I love it. Aren’t those balloon framelits awesome? Love those! They way you used the vellum and the embossing powders is fabulous. And the color combo is just yummy. Love that! Wishing both you and Andrew good luck with the computer issues…they can be frustrating. Enjoy your Saturday, you worked hard to get here!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! The ballon framelits are pretty cool! I do love me some vellum and heat embossing! LOL! Andrew is all fixed! I hope that you had a nice day! Too bad the weekend goes so fast! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Balloons and framelits are on my next order . I ordered the Butterfly and little Bow Punch this order. Don`t you just love Soft Sky ? It has been hiding from me up until recently . I just really looked at it and love it . Kinda like it has been around for a while (snicker)
Love your card ! I know someone with the initials BK that has a birthday Tuesday …this one would make him smile !

    1. They are a great bundle Sonny! I too have the butterfly and bow punch! Yes, Soft Sky is one of my favorite blues! LOL!

    1. Hello Kelly!
Thank you! LOL! I’m happy to be your color coach!! Yay! Stampin’ Up! has so many framelits, I wish they would have a set for every stamp set! I do like to fussy cut but yes, frailties are much easier! I had a nice time at the scrapbook store and will take pictures once it’s more set up! ๐Ÿ™‚
