Another nice day here! They said that we might get some thunderstorms but they stayed to the north of us. When I got home from work I was Skyping with Andrea and she was showing me the storm clouds and a tornado to the north of her! There were some crazy things going in Colorado! I was part of a text conversation during the day that involved Brian getting his tongue pierced so I headed over to meet Heather at his house and we went to see my friend Mark at his Tattoo shop. I spoke with Mark about my next tattoo that I wanted to get while Brian got his tongue pierced. He didn’t even flinch, however my knees got a little weak at the sight of it! After we went to 7-Eleven to get him a Slurpee to help with the swelling. We got back to his house and I dropped him off and I headed over to Heather’s to meet up with Stephanie for some cocktails and conversation! I had my Whiskey Smash and all was right in the world again! I also got some fun news! Michael will be coming back to NY soon! I’ll keep you posted and let you know when he arrives! 🙂

Thankfully I made my card Tuesday night, 10:00pm is a little late to start making a card! That card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo399

I decided that I wanted something fun and colorful so I pulled out some bright Designer Series Paper and a fun Stamp Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Pumpkin Pie. The background and strip across the middle are pieces of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. I cut a banner from a piece of Rich Razzleberry and adhered it to the card under the striped piece. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is flagged on both ends and adhered on too of that. My greeting and crayon are from the Lawn Fawn You Color My World Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre Ink and cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Circles. The crayon is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Daffodil Delight and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back of the circle and then it’s adhered to the card. The crayon is adhered to the circle with SNAIL. A scattering of Doodlebug Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects for a little sparkle. I do love the bright colors and fun stamp set! I hope that you like my card fort this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Thank you so much for visiting with me today and I wish you a very nice Thursday! 🙂

Brick Butterfly Page & March Class Cards

Well, I started off my weekend with some fun last night with some of my peeps from work! We went out to the bar and celebrated my friend Rob’s Birthday. The usual suspects were there and Fred being the bad influence that he is made me stay out until 2:00am! Hence my lateness this morning. I do have to say that watching everyone else drink is much more fun than drinking yourself! LOL! The rest of my day yesterday was nice, it was sunny and warm here again. I came home and had dinner, one of my favorites, homemade mac & cheese! I spent a little time in the Stampin’ Galley organizing and then Taylor came over and we took a ride to the shoe store to see if she could find some new sneakers. She didn’t but we’ll look again tomorrow. After that it was off to meet the rest of hooligans at the bar. Today I’m supposed to see my friend Sue for some lunch! That should be fun!

The project I have for you today is my Mother’s Day present as promised! I also have the cards from the March class at Scrap-A-Latte. But first I’ll get to the… I guess you would call it a layout! I used some papers from the Prima Butterfly Collection. I cut one slightly smaller and adhered Fun Foam behind it and adhered it to the 12X12 page to serve as my base. My brick wall is created using some Light Modeling Paste and a few drops of “Vintage” Bravo Burgundy Re-Inker. I mixed up the paste and color and then used a palette knife to apply it to a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The “bricks” are a piece of chip board from Blue Fern Studios called Shabby Brick Bits. I heat embossed the front with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and pushed it into the paste. Once it had dried I adhered it to the page and surrounded it with some Prima Flowers, also from the Butterfly Line. The leaves are cut from Vellum and The Paper Cut White Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die. They are adhered under the picture which is mounted to more Fun Foam and adhered to the page with SNAIL. The large butterfly is a combination of the Simon Says Stamp Paulina Butterfly, cut from Vellum, and the Devonshire Butterfly, cut from Blushing Bride. They are adhered to each other with 2-Way Glue and to the page with a thin piece of Foam Tape. The three smaller butterflies are the negatives from the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Drift Die. A few sequins from the Prima Butterfly Chipboard Stickers Kit are adhered randomly around on the top part of the page with Glossy Accents and one of the stickers is added under the picture. Finally I used some Ranger Onyx Liquid Pearls for the bodies of the butterflies and brushed over the smaller ones with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I did end up giving this to mum in a frame last week because I couldn’t wait! LOL! Since I finished it way before I also managed to take it outside and get a nice picture, you can even see the sparkle from the Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings!

Pals Paper Arts 248

Hi there! I’m a little late today, another Friday night out with the gang and it was 2:00am before I got to bed last night! I had a great day yesterday! I had lunch with some friends at work and then came home and made a card quickly before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for card class with Taylor. I got to play with some new stuff for next month’s class before we had a little dinner with Renee and Angie. There is a Panrea across the street so I ran over and picked it up. Class was so much fun! Brian and Andrew were there last night and Sandy stopped by for a bit too! Everyone had fun and we are thinking that we will need to do two classes next month as it’s already filled up! After class Andrew followed Taylor and I to the bar and we met Marissa, Fred, Anthony and Bill there. Taylor took my car home, so nice to have a child that can drive! Brian had stopped to get some food so he got there not long after us. We had a lot of laughs and I went home with Bill and Anthony. They dropped of Marissa and then me. Nothing like a good card class and then some drinks with friends after!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 248

I did a nice bright quick card! The base is Melon Mambo Card Stock cut to 5″ x 5″. I used a piece of the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper for the background. My panel in the middle is the library card from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used some SNAIL and Fun Foam to adhere the library card to the card. The fun glasses are cut from a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the MFT Die-namics Geek is Chic Die and heat embossed with Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I added some Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh sequins to the library card for some sparkle and that completes the card. I love the glasses and the nice bright Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper, they make for a fun nerdy card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day here on the blog so make sure that you come back for the Can You Case It post to announce some more new Design Team members and then the Control Freaks Blog Tour is tomorrow night! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂
