I’m still a little delirious from yesterday, I managed to get a whole four hours of sleep on Thursday night! The conference went pretty well. I convinced them to use an App on the iPads for registration and it worked perfectly. I do love technology! I came home and took a 30 minute nap and I was good for the rest of the evening. This morning is another early morning, I have some errands to run and then I’m finally going to get a much needed haircut. I get to a point where I just can’t take it anymore then I want to hack it all off, we’ll see what happens later.
Today I have a post for the Catherine & Cathy Create blog. Yesterday was the start of our monthly challenge and this time it’s triangles. I immediately thought of Christmas trees, I know genius right! LOL! The base of my card is Smoky Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of Vellum Card Stock. I used my paper Snips to trim the curves in the Soft Sky that creates the hills. My trees are from the Pennant Parade Stamp Set, an oldie but a goodie. I stamped them in Pear Pizzaz, Always Artichoke and Garden Green and cut them out with my Paper Snips. Some are tucked behind the hills for a little depth. A piece of Gold Foil Sheet is cut out with the Expressions Thinlits Dies and adhered to the vellum with 2-Way Glue. It’s a nice simple card that reminds me of the kind that you get in the boxes of Christmas cards from the store. It would be relatively easy to mass produce too. Oh, the adhesive behind the vellum doesn’t show up quite as much in person as it does in the picture, you’ll have to take my word for it! Do make sure and stop by the blog and enter your card in the gallery because we have some blog candy for you and it’s the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set that is currently on backorder!! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

I love cards that can be easily mass produced yet look fabulous. This is one of those cards. The gold foil Merry puts it over the top. Great job Justin. I have tried at least 8 or 9 different types of tape and glue that all said they were specifically designed to not show behind vellum. Well, they are full of balogna – all of them showed behind the vellum. Even vellum tape shows behind it. I wonder if anyone will every come up with a solution for this stamper’s problem.
Thank you Grace! Yes, I have tried all of the glue too and it shows through. Although the Tombo Vellum Adhesive does sometimes work depending on the color of the card stock.
Have you tried to make it look like a starry sky and use glue dots beneath jewels(for stars)?
That is a very good idea Jenn, I will give that a try! Thanks! 🙂
Nice, clean and simple – luv it!
Thank you Margarita!
This card is the cutest ! Love these trees . I have that set and I plan to play with it soon .
Your hair cut remark takes me back to a Big Bang Theory episode when Sheldon was in need of a hair cut (love that series) …. Have a great weekend !
Thank you Sonny! It was a fun and simple card to make! I don’t hunk I have seen that episode, I’ll have to look for it. I love that show too! 🙂
I love what you did with the hills and tucking the trees behind some of them. Did you order more paper snips at the sale price? I can’t do without them; glad they were on sale. Hope the rest of your weekend goes well. Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! I forgot to order more Paper Snips! I do love mine too! Enjoy your Sunday! 🙂
Very cute Justin. Ideal if you want to create a whole lot of the same card. Except of course maybe for the Thinlits Expressions…. still having problems making them pop out easily. On the hunt for the post you mentioned something about that… or maybe it was on Brian’s??
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the “extra hour”! Woohoo!
Thank you Louise! Yes, good for multiples! Just use a piece of wax paper in between the die and card stock and it will come right out! I’m very much looking forward to the extra hour! You enjoy your Sunday! 🙂
LOL!! Yes, Genius. Love it!!
