Errands ran… check, much needed haircut… check, ride in the convertible with Andrew… added bonus! It was a beautiful day here yesterday, much more spring like than fall. I think it got up to 66 degrees today but it was nice and sunny, how I wish it would stay! This morning my friend Heather and I are going to join Andrew for the Out of the Darkness Community Walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. You can find out more about the organization here. Oh, did you enjoy your extra hour of sleep this morning?! I needed it so I really did!!
The inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. This time they have a fun and different color challenge…
I saw a card on Pinterest that used a woodgrain patterned paper and I decided that I would recreate it, that was the inspiration for the background for today’s card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Crumb Cake that I stamped in Crumb Cake with the Timber Stampin Around Wheel. Then I used my uni-ball Signo Gel Pen and ruler to draw lines to separate the “boards”. To finish the look I was trying to achieve I sponged on some White Craft Ink to give it a whitewashed feel. I stamped the greeting from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set in Perfect Plum and backed it with Perfect Plum flagging both of the ends. The flowers are from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and are stamped in Jet Black Staz-On and punched out with the Pansy Punch. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I’m really happy with the way the background turned out and will definitely do that again. Thank you very much for visiting with me today to see my card for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. Have a great Sunday! 🙂

Wow Justin – that really does look like wood planks! I think that was a tough combination of colors to work with but you managed to pull it off without a hitch. I think the combo of the wood look background really made the Raspberry Ripple flowers jump out at you. Nice job Justin. Have a Super Sunday.
