Ahh… Thursday, one more day to go! Don’t you just love the countdown to the weekend?! I know I do! Most of the snow that we got yesterday morning has blown away, it was nice and windy and cold here again. Work you ask, well it was crazy busy again! I did have a fun evening though. Danielle came over and we went to Friday’s for dinner. We even had some desert, the Tennessee Whiskey Cake and it was mind blowing-ly amazing! After dinner We came back to the house and Danielle sat at the craft desk and made her very first card. It’s a Valentine’s Day card for her boyfriend Derek. I think that she did a fantastic job! I love the colors and there is just enough grey to make it masculine but a good bit of love too! Here it is…
She colored the love in to make it look a little chalky and the Designer Series Paper is the “Vintage” More Amore from last year’s Occasions Catalog. I love the Smoky Slate with the paper, too bad we didn’t have that color last year! 🙂
Now on to my post for today which is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…
A fun tall & skinny card! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of Strawberry Slush and a piece of Gold Designer Vellum with some Gold Sequin Trim create the background. Next up is a piece of Blushing Bride that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Sale-A-Bration. I stamped the Flowerful Heart in Strawberry Slush and cut it out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. A piece of Coastal Cabana is cut out with them too and paper-pierced using the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack. My greeting is form the “Vintage” Perfectly You Host(ess) Stamp Set form the 2013 Holiday Catalog and is cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies. I backed it with a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it all to the card. I really liked the sketch this week and love the heart hanging off the side of the card. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and my friend Danielle’s card! Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy your Thursday! 🙂

Thank you Melanie! She’s pretty good for a first timer! 🙂
Has the paper crafting bug bitten Danielle? She did an excellent job for a first timer. How can her boyfriend not love a very special valentine. Kudos Danielle. Justine nice layering and texture on todays card. I like the Coastal Cabana and Gold Foil hearts. The really pop off the card. Of course the bling of the sequins peeking out are fun.
Yes, Lisa, I think it has! She said how much fun she had making the card and she showed everyone at work today! She did do a great job! I’m glad that you liked my card too! 🙂
Hi Justin,
Your card is stunning, absolutely gorgeous, love everything about it.
Danielle’s card is pretty spiffy too, good job for the first time. Love the colors. You may just have a new customer! LOL. Hope the day goes well for you! Take care! 🙂

Hello Justin! I was wondering where the sequins went! 😉 I love your card, the colors are so pretty together and a cool layout also. Wow! Danielle did a great job on her card! I hope we see more of her work. Enjoy your Thursday!
Hello Karen!
Yes, the sequins are back! LOL! I like the pop of Coastal with the gold! Danielle did do a nice job! She was super happy about the card, so I’m sure she will be back to make more! I hope that you had a nice day! 🙂
You’re pulling my leg right Justin? That can’t be Danielle’s first card! It is FABULOUS and I Love it! I like her card better than the ones I did for this year! Great use of the sequins and foil paper in your card. You know I love the bling!
Nope Grace, that’s her first card! She was so happy reading the comments today! She showed everyone at work too! LOL! Glad you like mine too! 🙂
Great job, Danielle! I really like how you angled the DSP. The row of hearts across the bottom is a nice addition too. Don’t you just love making an attractive card under Justin’s tutelage? Derek would be a fool not to appreciate your special card. Oh, yes, Justin, I was distracted by Danielle’s pretty card, yours is great too. Love the gold foil heart, vellum sticking out, row of sequins, new EF dots, and layers, layers, layers! Have a terrific day! Nancy B
Danielle had a great time, she said now she knows why I like it so much! Derek will love the card, he better! LOL! Glad you liked mine too! I needed some layers, too many simple ones lately! I hope that you had a nice day! 🙂
Beautiful card Danielle…. with someone like you Justin guiding her, this should be the first of many many more cards to come! Yours is gorgeous. Love the different color combo here and all the techniques you used (probably to show Danielle… LOL. I can see here the vellum with the little hearts. Very pretty.
You are so kind! I showed her the sketch and off she went! I think she’ll be back to make more! LOL! I actually made the card a few nights ago! She said that I have so much stuff how do I know where to start! 🙂
Love your Mojo card. The gold is such a great pairing with your colors and that sequin trim looks sensational!
Thank you very much Julee! Love the sketch!! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Danielle should be very proud of her beautiful card! Hopefully she’ll “catch the SU bug” and join your team!
Love your Tall & Skinny card too. Lots of elements to catch the eye, yet still draws the eye to the beauty of the whole.
Stay warm up there 🙂
She was quite happy with her card Carol! I hope she catches the Stampin’ Up! bug too! I thought the Mojo sketch was so much fun this week! It was a tiny bit warmer today and should be in the high 30’s by Sunday! 🙂
Love both of today’s cards Justin! Danielle did a super job on hers and as for yours – I think the Flowerfull Heart is one of my all-time favourite stamps.
Thank you very much Joanne! Danielle was quite happy with her card and yes, the Flowerful Heart is great! 🙂
