Hello my peeps! Are you as happy that week is over as I am?! Work was actually pretty good yesterday, the job fair went as planned and I even got out an hour early. I met up with Anthony, Danielle and Bill for dinner, yes, we went to Friday’s again. Danielle and I needed more of that Tennessee Whiskey Cake! LOL! It really was that good! We stopped at Target after dinner and I came home and made my card for today. So all in all a pretty good day.
I’m over on the Catherine & Cathy Create blog today for this month’s Hearts a Flutter challenge. We ask that you make a project that has a love theme.
I decided to go with a French theme for my card. The base is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background, I stamped the En Français Background Stamp in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla. I cut out three Vellum hearts with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and spritzed them with my concoction of Bermuda Bay Re-Inker and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. After it had dried a little I rubbed my finger across it to give it little bit of a vintage look. The hearts are adhered to the card with Vellum Adhesive. The stamped image is from the Follow My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede, and cut out with my Paper Snips. A piece of Cherry Cobbler is cut out with the “Vintage” Expressions Thinlits Dies and adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. Three hearts punched out from Brushed Gold Card Stock with the Small Heart Punch complete the card. I really love the Vellum spritzed with the Bermuda Shimmer mix and yes there are those blue and reds that I can’t see to get away from lately! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this month’s Catherine & Cathy Create challenge. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the blog and see what other interpretations of the challenge my fellow designers have come up with. Play along with us this month for your chance to with the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set! Thank you for visiting and enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

Love your card. Your concoction of Bermuda Bay Re-Inker and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint is fantastic. Looks great. 🙂
Thanks Nancy! I miss the Champagne Mist! Have a great day! 🙂
Hello Justin! Beautiful card! I can just picture “mad-scientist” Justin mixing his concoction of reinkers and shimmer paint! The results are gorgeous! I tend to stay away from vellum and you are showing me how easy it is to work with. And you’re also tempting me to try the cake at Friday’s! Have a fun Saturday!
Hi Karen!
Thank you! LOL! Yes, all sorts of things bubbling around here! LOL! I love to use Vellum, especially in an unexpected way. You really do need to try the Tennessee Whiskey Cake, it’s amazing! Enjoy your day! 🙂
Another gorgeous card- nothing goes better together than Paris and romance!
Thank you Marty! Yes, Paris and romance go together well! Have a great day! 🙂
Oh my Justin – I read the description of the card first and just couldn’t get my imagination to put it all together. Then, when I actually saw the card, all I could think was Gor-g-us! I love it! I have avoided working with vellum because of the problems trying to find something that wouldn’t show through when attaching it to a card. You seem to do that without a problem. I have tried vellum adhesive with no luck. Perhaps because of spritzing the cards the vellum didn’t show through?
Thanks so much Grace! I find that the Vellum Adhesive works pretty well, even when it’s not spritzed. Sometimes I just put a little something over it to hide it too! 🙂
Beautiful! Being french of course I like everything about it. Will try your little concoction…. I bought a few bottles on the Clearance Rak… LOL. Same thing with vellum Grace…. Seems to be hit and miss for me, sometimes it disappears others it “stains”. Enjoy the weekend. Snowstorm starting here!
Thanks Louise! LOL! I did too! I hope you don’t get too much snow! Have a great day! 🙂
