I know you will be shocked to hear that it snowed again here last night! LOL! We got another 2 inches. Yesterday morning I had to take my car back to the shop, it was there on Thursday because the service engine soon light was on and they “fixed” it. Not so much, the light came back on so back it went. After I dropped it off I came back home and crafted for a bit. Andrew came by around 1:00 and we ran some errands, he dropped me off to get my car and we ran some more errands in my car to test it out. I worked on some more projects last night and even got play around with My Digital Studio and my E-Cutter. I also finally got to see New Years Eve, pretty good movie. I do love to have a nice productive day! 🙂
Now, it’s time for my card for this week’s challenge at the Pals Paper Arts! This week the resident artist has given us a color challenge…
I will admit that when I first looked at it all I could think of was either St. Patrick’s Day or Halloween. So I grabbed a bunch of different stamp sets and this is what I came up with. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and my background is a piece of Crumb Cake stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumb Cake. A piece of Pumpkin Pie 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon is adhered with some Sticky Strip around the back before I mounted the background to the card base. The tag is created with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the image is from the Notable Notions Stamp Set stamped in Gumball Green. The greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Pumpkin Pie. My postage stamps are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are punched out with Postage Stamp Punch. The large Gumball Green star is from the Simply Stars Stamp Set and is punched out with the “Vintage” Large Star Punch. Two stars punched out from Pumpkin Pie with the Merry Minis Punch Pack are adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the tag. The circle greeting on the ribbon is also from Notable Notions and is punched out using the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. A few Basic Jewel Rhinestones “sprinkled” around the background complete the card. I think it’s really neat the way that the stamp from Notable Notions fits inside the Tag Topper Punch. It’s also really neat that when you look directly at the Chevron Ribbon, it looks larger on the left side than it does on the right, but when you look from an angle you can see that it’s all the same width. Optical illusions are cool! You all know that I like the collage style card and I’m really happy with the way this one came out. I’m always happy to have you stop by, I hope you enjoyed the card and the rest of your weekend!

Hi Justin!
Being of Irish descent, I immediately thought ‘Irish flag’ when I saw the colors…lol.
You know I love your collage cards!! And I love that the Notable Notions image fits in the scalloped tag punch!! I wouldn’t have thought of that… thank you! I’m curious about your process with collage cards. Do you picture the card in your head? Or do you just stamp a bunch of elements that you like and then move them around until you get what you want? Inquiring minds want to know…
Hello Gerri!
LOL! Yes, I thought along the same lines! Thank you very mud! The collage card are my favorite kind to make. Sometimes I’ll see the layout in my head and other times I’ll pick a stamp set and go from there. Whenever I do collage cards I try to find stamp sets that have elements in them, bird, heart, star etc. Thanks for asking! 🙂
Love the bright color combo. I have the merry mini’s punch set but I never think about it unless it’s Christmas. You’re inspiring me to get outside my “comfort” zone and try utilizing some of these sets more than I do. Very bright and cheery card Justin! Thanks.
Thank you Grace! I love that star in the punch set and I use it a lot. Yeah! I love when people get out of their comfort zone! Have a great day! 🙂
Love the bright, happy colors! Great collage! I particularly like your use of different elements of stamp sets that go together. The chevron ribbon is a perfect touch. As a reformed perfectionist, this is one of my favorite sayings. Enjoy the rest of the day! Do you have to go to work tomorrow? Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! Yes, bright and SPRING like! I need it now! LOL! I love when you can make a bunch of different sets work so well together! I like that saying! You enjoy the rest of your weekend too! Yes, I have to work tomorrow. 🙁 I need a new job! LOL! 🙂
Another wonderful card, Jason…such detail in pulling them together and great embellishments spread across the card….!
