Yesterday was a nice quiet day which is especially good for a Monday. Work moved along at a nice pace. It did get a lot colder as the day progressed and I thin last night it dropped down to 28 degrees. So much for our very little taste of Spring! We are supposed to get some more snow later today and tonight but most of what we had gotten is gone so that’s no too bad.
Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for my Design Team card for this week’s challenge and that is banner fun! Create a project using banners, simple enough, right?!?!
I love the Banner Blast Stamp Set and the Banner Punch from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. The best part about the punch is that it will be in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog! So make sure that you pick one up for FREE during Sale-A-Bration! My card starts off with a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock and the background is a piece of Daffodil Delight. The main panel is also Very Vanilla and I stamped my greeting from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set in Island Indigo. My flower and leaves are from the Peaceful Petals StampSet. The flower is stamped in Calypso Coral and the leaves in Garden Green, both are cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some eyeshadow applicators to color in the images. I love the effect that the “sponging” gives but the control is much better with the eyeshadow applicator. The stamens of the flower are colored in with my Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker and the flower is mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The three banners are from the Banner Balst Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo and Calypso Coral. I punched them out with the Banner Punch and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Not too complicated and I love the way the flower looks colored in! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for the SUO Challenges banner fun challenge. Take a quick click over to the blog to see my fellow design team members have for you and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for checking and enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

Hi Justin! Love this card! I am happy to hear that the banner punch will be in the new catalog…love it!! Those little banners are so versatile. The shading on the flower is perfect and oh my 😉 fussy-cut also! You do a great job with that! Have a great day…Mr. Polar Vortex is making his appearance again…who invited him???
Hello Karen!
Yeah! Thank you! I do love to fussy cut! LOL! I hope that you have a great day too! Yes, he is really not welcome anymore is he?!?!
Good morning Justin! I have been using eye shadow applicators with my chalks for years but have never thought to use them with my inks. I love the way the flower looks using the eye shadow technique. Just enough of a “blush” look to make it very realistic. I need to make a note of that so I don’t forget. You and Brian went to “snipping school” I swear. The things you snip look every bit as good as anything that comes out of a punch. You have yourself a Terrific Tuesday and thanks for the beautiful card.
Hello Grace!
I thought they would be easier that trying to use a sponge and they are! It definitely gives it a fun shaded look. I think he is a little bit of a better snipper that I! He paper pieces a lot and not even I like to do that! LOL! Thank you very much!! I hope that you are having a great Tuesday too! 🙂
Justin ! This is a combo of trendy and romantic !! Great look ! I am going to try the eye shadow applicators with ink ….I have only used them with chalk. Thanks for the tip . Happy Tuesday !
Thank you Sonny! The eyeshadow applicators definitely work great! Happy Tuesday to you too! 🙂
Love the colors and the use of the white on this card! Your banner is the perfect touch for the corner and great tip on the applicators as well 🙂
Thank you so much Julie! The applicators are great! Have a great week! 🙂
Wow Justin, I am going to echo everyone’s great observations and agree with all of the above, from the unwelcome Mr. P. Vortex to the banners & your use of the white space with perfectly smart (& snippy!!) pops of color!! This is seriously one of my all time favorite cards you have made!! I hope you are having a splendid day!! 🙂
Thank you Laurie! Yeah!! So happy to hear that!! I hope that you had a wonderful day! 🙂
