Yesterday was a definitely a Monday! Work was busy and I had to go back after I left to set up one of the forums. So I left work, stopped by my parents, came home and let the dog out, Pinterested, went and set up for the forum and stopped at BJ’s on the way home. All of that was after 5 o’clock! What a day! I did manage to squeeze a card in last night because Wednesday, I’ll be at work from 8 AM until 10 PM. You’ve heard of the best week ever? This is definitely not it! LOL! I hope your Monday was much better than mine. Okay, enough whining. I did get a little present last night from Andrew…
Pretty neat huh?! If you would like one of your own you can get them HERE. They also have a Geeky Girl one! 🙂
Before we get to today’s post here are the weekly deals from Stampin’ Up! And don’t forget with FREE Shipping this week you can even just place a small order!
Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for their “Featuring Flowers” challenge…
I sat and looked at all of the flower stamp sets that I have (there are quite a few of them) and I settled on one that I haven’t used in a while. My card base is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and my background consists of a piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper on the left and a simple of Panel of Whisper White on the right. The white panel in the center has the greeting from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set, stamped in Smoky Slate and my “stitching” is done with a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker. The white background panel and the center panel are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flower and leaves are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, the flower is stamped in Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate, the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and Smoky Slate. They are cut out with my Paper Snips and also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A relatively simple card but I think it has lots of impact. I also really like the subtle shadowing effect on the flower and the leaves with the Smoky Slate. I hope you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges “Featuring Flowers” challenge. Take some time to stop by the blog and see what the other designers have come up with and make a flowery card of your own for us to see! As always, your visit is greatly appreciated. I hope your Tuesday is terrific! 🙂

Thank you very much Brian! It’s a great layout and I really do like the shadow with the Smoky Slate! Have a great day! 🙂
Interesting stamping with Smoky Slate. Would of never thought of doing it. I like how it turned out very much. Another fairly easy card. You need these with the work hours you are putting in. Totally awesome tee shirt from Andrew. I couldn’t get the link to come up. May be on my end, will try again later. Want to see the Geeky Girl shirt. Hope you make it through your very long day.
Thank you Lisa! I really like the shadow that it gives the flower too! Yes, I don’t know what I would do without my cards and all of you! You guys make the days much more bearable!! Yes, it was a nice little surprise the t-shirt! I’ll check the link again, thanks for letting me know! I hope that you have a lovely day!! 🙂
Hi there Justin! Love, love this card! I think the shadowing with smoky slate looks great! I need to try that! I just received the Stippled Blossoms set and was glad to see it didn’t make the retired list. How in the world did you get your “stitching” so straight?? It looks fantastic! Cool shirts from Satellite Lane! I was exhausted just hearing about your day! 😉 Even though you have a long day today hopefully, it won’t be as hectic for you. Have a great one!
Hello Karen!
Thank you! I love when I rediscover a stamp set! I too was happy that Stippled Blossoms didn’t become “Vintage”! It is a pretty cool t-shirt! I won’t lie, I miss my parents! LOL! It’s always great to “talk” to you! I hope that you have a wonderful day! 🙂
That’s it! You’re officially a Satellite Lane groupie! Love your card, the simplicity of it and all the white space.
LOL! Yes, I guess that I am officially a Satellite Lane groupie! I had fun making the card and because of you I really enjoy the fussy cutting! Have a great day my friend! 🙂
What a beautiful, elegant card! Your stitching is such a great touch; any tips on marker stitching? Nice of Andrew to bestow the cool shirt on you. You needed the perk this week! In the teaching occupation, we always had to go back or stay really late for all kinds of conferences, etc., and then show up early the next day with smiles (or not). I hope the week flies by for you!
Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! I used a clear ruler to do my stitching. Yes, I love my shirt! I definitely did need a perk! I know I am not alone in my day to day, I just feel like there os something else I should be doing. I hope the week flies too and that you have a lovely day! 🙂
Hi Justin:
First of all I love the Satellite Lane shirts. Is there an explanation for their neat logo? Usually there is a reason for it. To me it looks like a satellite in orbit.
This is definitely my kind of card………colorful and eye catching without a lot of clutter. The color combo is fab. I too am curious on how you got your “stitching” lines done so perfectly! WOW! I don’t know if I could have gotten them so perfect with my sewing machine! LOL
I remember pulling the double shifts when I worked at the newspaper. Not fun but it kind of goes with the job. Hang in there, Friday is coming.
Hello Grace!
Yes! You would be correct, that is a satellite in orbit! It’s also the name of a street around the corner from my house where the group rehearses.
LOL! I didn’t think the stitching was that great, but I guess I was wrong! I used a clear ruler, it made it a little easier. I really need to try the sewing machine, I just have to muster up the courage!
Yup, I know everyone has done it, I just don’t like when it interferes with my crafty time! 🙂
Have a great day my friend! 🙂
Love the way you do your posts… always including your events of the day, and a little something about yourself!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Betty
Thank you Betty! That makes me very happy to hear! Thank you stopping by! Have a great evening! 🙂
Another hit! I love this one.
Thanks Theresa! 🙂
