Oh my… guess what?! Yup… it’s FRIDAY! Woo hoo! I have to say that this week went by fast and considering I was at work on Monday for 13 hours that’s a great thing! I will be getting crafty this weekend, I have a bunch of thank you cards to make! I think that those are my favorite cards to send out! I really should keep a bunch on hand but I like to think of the person that I am sending it to and try to make it for them. That makes sense, right?! Last night my friend Maureen stopped by for a bit and after she left I put on some Sam and spent a little time in the Stampin’ Galley! Yes, I have decided on the name! Thank you for all of your suggestions! What finally made the decision is, are you ready for really corny?! I thought, I can can cook up some cards in the Stampin’ Galley! Pretty bad huh?! LOL! It made me chuckle and I hope you got a laugh too! So, I think that these are the last of the pictures from Convention. Unless you count the few of just me that I really like, but that would be a little narcissistic of me to post those. I don’t really like many pictures of myself but my friend Amanda takes amazing pictures. These are all ones that she took except for the first one, that’s her and I!
She is a very talented photographer! You can see in these next shots exactly what I mean…
That’s Pam and I, love the black and white.
This one is of Maggie and I, it just makes me smile when I see it! Was I right? Amanda is a pretty great photographer!
I really do love being with all of the people at Convention, it is a very good time, the best part is of course seeing all of my peeps!
Now it’s off to today’s card and it’s for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch…
Oh the possibilities! I actually took one look at it and knew just what I wanted to do. I was itching to get the Kinda Eclectic set and I need to get to using it! The only thing I wasn’t sure of was what colors I wanted to use. The card begins with a base of Night of Navy Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I spritzed it with some Night of Navy Ink before adhering it to the base. My three panels are all Vary Vanilla backed by Night of Navy and all of the images are from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set. The top and bottom are stamped with the leaves in Baked Brown Sugar. For the middle I stamped the sun in Crisp Cantaloupe. My greeting is from the Something to Say Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Vellum Card Stock. I adhered the Vellum to the sun with some Vellum Adhesive. The top and bottom panels are adhered with SNAIL and the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two butterflies, also from Kinda Eclectic, are stamped in Blackberry Bliss and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. I adhered them with Mini Glue Dots and fluffed up their wings. The card needed a little something else so I adhered some 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins in the upper right and lower left. I love the simplicity of the layout and the eclectic mix of colors! And there is my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch! I hope that you enjoyed the card and the pictures. Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’m up to, I hope that you have a very enjoyable Friday! 🙂

Happy Friday Justin! Amanda’s photos are absolutely amazing! She’s an awesome photographer! Love your card today–especially the color combo. Can you believe I have not inked up this stamp set yet?? I need to do that, especially after seeing what you’ve done with it. This card is so appealing to me…not sure if its the color combo, the symmetry of the three squares or the sequins…but it’s gorgeous! Love it! Any updates on how many cards little Danny received? I’d love to know. Have a great day and enjoy the weekend!! 🙂
A Very happy Friday to you too Karen! Amanda is a pretty awesome photographer! I wanted the Kinda Eclectic Set as soon as I saw it at the Catalog Reveal! Now that I have it I need to use it! I am getting into using different colors, not necessarily that really reconsidered matching but look great together. I love the Blackberry Bliss with the Night of Navy, who would have thought?! Thank you! I love the sequins, it just needed something more and they fit the bill! I will try to find out how many cards Danny has gotten. Maybe Tracy will let us know! Enjoy your Friday and your weekend! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
I love the name Stampin’ Galley for your stamp space. You are absolutely right, it’s shaped like the galley of a ship and a galley is where all the truly good culinary creations are prepared Pretty dang clever if you ask me.
It feels so good to be almost on track with my daily routine. I love starting my day with Mary’s, yours and Brian’s blogs. The Hubs has his newspaper and I have my computer.
Eclectic has been on my wish list since the new catalog appeared and I can’t tell you why I like it so much, it’s so different from the stamps I’m usually drawn to. I really love the way you have used it on this card. Have yourself a fantastic Friday.
Good morning Grace!
Thank you! I debated for quite some time but I think that Stampin’ Galley fits the space! LOL! I’m glad that you approve!
I do like a routine to start my day! I’m so glad that I’m a part of your morning routine! I do my post in the morning, then Stampin’ Connection and Pinterest, then off to SplitCoast and Facebook and I finish it off with Instagram!
I think Kinda Eclectic is just the best! The images are great and Eclectic so the name works! Enjoy your day my friend! 🙂
Oh I wanted to thank you for all the photos you have posted from convention. It’s so much fun to see what you folks are up to out there in SLC! LOL
You are very welcome Grace! I’m glad that you are enjoying them! I wish it could be Convention every week! 🙂
This is so beautiful!! I love this set and I believe I am going to case your card, if you don’t mind!!
Thank you MaryJo! I too love the set! Not at all, CASE away!
Cool name for your stamping area. Love it. (one question though: are we allowed to use stampin without the ‘g’?? I was under the impression we could not but I am probably totally wrong… would not be the first time LOL).
Your card is gorgeous. I have this stamp and I still have to put it together and ink it up! Love the colors you used and the splatters. Have a wonderful Friday.
Thank you Louise! Ha ha! Yes, corny indeed! I think there are other people that use Stampin’, I don’t think that they have a copyright on the one word. I’m glad you enjoyed the card, I love the Kinda Eclectic Set! I hope you are having a good Friday! 🙂
Great name for you stamping space. I caught myself chuckling over your little “funny,” too. Good one! And those b/w photos are beautiful-I think the photographer has to love the subjects to capture such great images. Last of all, I’m becoming more intrigued as I see the great cards made from this set. The grid design makes a perfect background. Happy weekend Justin!
Thanks Georgie! I’ll be coking up some cards shortly! LOL! The pictures that Amanda took are amazing! She is quite the talent! The Kinda Eclectic Set is definitely one of my faves! Happy weekend to you too! 🙂
Great photos and great card, Justin! Love this new set and what you’ve done with it here. Thanks for playing along with this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge.
Thank you Brian! I can’t wait to see what you do with the Kinda Eclectic Set my friend! 🙂
Swoon! I love this card, and my ladies will too. I wanted this set right away but held off as I saw that we’d get it at convention. I’m collecting ideas for the set left and right!
Yeah! Thank you very much Theresa! I too was good and waited until Convention! It’s a fun set! I’ll be using it a lot! 🙂
Hello Justin! Love the black and white pictures!! Amanda has a wonderful eye for shadows and subjects! Your layout and colors for this Pals Paper Arts sketch is very striking and the Kinda Eclectic set has a great collection of stamp images that work great here. I have been at a scrapbooking/card making retreat the last few days and was so excited to make a “coastal” card using the Stripped Scallop Framelit and CORK! Thank’s for your inspiration each day!!
Hello Beth! Amanda does have a great eye for details! I love the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set. I was very proud of myself that I didn’t order it before Convention! LOL! Sounds like you had a fun time at your retreat! You know I loves me some cork! 🙂
These photos are amazing, she really has a great eye. I love black and white photos, my favorite to frame or scrapbook.
Love, love, love this card. I know I say it alot about your work but this card really caught my eye. I love the layout and the stamp set you used. The Cantaloupe just pops everything
Thank you Linda! She does take excellent pictures! I love black and white, you focus more on the subject! I’m glad that you enjoyed the card! I had fun playing with the set! It definitely needed a little pop of something and I though that Crisp Cantaloupe fit the bill! 🙂
The Stampin Galley it is! Congrats on picking a name for your new craft space, Justin! Enjoy it to the fullest.
Indeed it is Crystal!! Thank you! I took a long time but it seems to fit! I am enjoying it and reorganizing it every day! Have a super weekend! 🙂
Justin, this is gorgeous! That Crisp Cantaloupe starburst behind the vellum is – WOW! I’m going to give that a try. Vellum adhesive, huh? Just found it on Amazon 🙂
Justin, the vellum is awesome! Thanks for joining us at PPA this week.
Thank you Diane! I love to use vellum! Have an excellent weekend! 🙂

Justin, can’t believe that it’s been almost a month since I’ve spent much time on my FUN computer. My email has been piling up. Stampin’ Galley is really clever. You *do* cook up great card recipes! Your beautiful card and sentiment really captures the joy that’s conveyed in Amanda’s beautiful black and white photos. Thanks *so* much for sharing!
