Another typical Monday. The Fall Forums started at work today and I get to play A/V guy for the next two weeks. Nothing ever goes as planned and I just have to make it all work. No pressure though! LOL! I will be glad when they are done! Heather stopped by for a bit when I got home from work and we chatted about the goings on in our lives. After she left I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make my card for tonight and play with some other goodies. It was a relaxing evening and that is a good thing.
Here are this week’s Stampin’ Up! weekly deals:
And now on to the card that I crafted last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…
And it’s a Tall & Skinny! Yay! I began today’s card with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Lost Lagoon. I stamped my greeting from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and wrapped a piece of Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine around my background and tied it in a bow. A little dab of Crystal Effects holds the bow neatly in place and some SNAIL adheres the background to the base. My panel on the left is a piece of Cherry Cobbler, I used the “Vintage” 1 1/4″ Square Punch to punch out my windows. The snowflakes are also from the Endless Wishes Set and are heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock. A little Multi-Purpose Glue adheres the frame to the Vellum and Stampin’ Dimensionals affix it to the card. A few sequins scattered across the top complete the card. I love the Lost Lagoon with the Cherry Cobbler, I think that they compliment each other nicely! There is my simple Holiday card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Oh, and if you take a look at the picture the Baker’s Twine looks a bit like a candle again! I hope that you like the card! Thank you for taking some time to come by and visit with me. Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Hi Justin
What a great card! I love the color combo! I would not have thought to combine the cherry cobbler with the lost lagoon. I love the panel with the snowflakes! Endless wishes is a favorite of mine! Nice job!
The saga of my health just continues on! I now have pneumonia and ANOTHER kidney infection! Oh well, life goes on … Not much use in complaining, there are others much worse off then me, so I will take what I get and be thankful!
I am getting a lot of rest, that’s for sure! And a lot of time to peruse pinterest!
I hope your Tuesday is a good one,
Donna
Hi Donna!
Thank you! I love those two colors together! Endless Wishes is definitely a favorite of mine too! Oh NO! When will you get a break?! I think that everyone should have your outlook, I don’t know if I would have been able to handle all of this! Pinterest is a great way to get lost for as long as you need to! LOL! Fell better!! XOXO 🙂
I have always loved this color combo! Love your card!
Thank you Chris! 🙂
Hi Jusltin, your take on this sketch is great. I really like the way you stamped and embossed the vellum to create a snowy scene. Every time you create something with embossed vellum, I always make a note to try it. But I will definitely this time, as you just planted the seed for my Christmas card this year. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration. Have a good day.
Hello Roseanne!
Thanks so much! I love the little windows and the card was lots of fun to make! You definitely need to try the embossing on Vellum! So happy to have inspired you! I hope you had a nice Tuesday! 🙂
Hi Justin, This tall/skinny card is great. You certainly got those squares punched out perfectly. I can’t wait to get the Endless Wishes stamp set, hopefully today. 🙂
P.S. This new blog doesn’t hold my commenting info. Each time I make a comment, I have to reenter my name and email. Is there something I should click to be remembered?
Hello Nancy!
Yes! I love the tall & skinny cards! You are going to love that stamp set! SO versatile! One of their best ever! I think I fixed the commenting, you’ll have to let me know! 🙂
Hi Justin, this is a wonderful color combination and great holiday card. I do see your candle in the picture- awesome!
I too am having an issue with the comments section, I have to log in every time. The old site remembered my info each time.
Thanks so much,
Marty
Hey Marty!
Thanks so much! Love the colors and I think that the “candle” is pretty neat! LOL!
I think I fixed the comments, you’ll have to let me know. 🙂
Hi Justin:
Love this card and I’m jealous of your ability to stamp on vellum so successfully! LOL The snowflakes “looking out the window” are just plain fabulous. I have got to get things caught up here so I can do some stamping. It’s been four weeks since I have had the opportunity to sit, relax and stamp and I’m in total withdrawal! Yikes! I really like the tall skinny cards because the envelopes to mail them in are much more reasonably prices than the A2 size.
Hope you get through the next two weeks without any problems jumping up at the last minute. I know when I worked at the newspaper that any time there wasn’t a catastrophe a few hours before publication made for a “hooray” day.
Have yourself a Terrific Tuesday my friend! 🙂 Still having to enter my name and email every time I comment. I don’t quite understand what’s going on with that.
Hello Grace!
Thank you! LOL! I have no tricks, just not to over heat the vellum! I loved the sketch and had fun with the card! I don’t think that I could go as along as you without stamping! That’s a very long time! The tall & skinny are my favorites, just a little different!
My job is just annoying and it’s my own fault. I should stop doing everything! There is always something last minute too!
I had a nice Tuesday and hope that you did too! I think I fixed the comments, let me know! And get some stamping in!! 🙂
Simple elegance, love this
Thank you very much Linda! 🙂
I love this color combo and the embossed vellum. I tried it after seeing one of your cards and it worked beautifully. The card recipient was so impressed!! Good luck over the next two weeks.
Thanks so much HJ! Yay! So glad that you were successful in your heat embossing on Vellum! I’ll need the luck so thanks! 🙂
So creative! I love the embossed snowflakes on vellum! Great job!
Thank you Susan! 🙂
