I do love a Friday don’t I?! Nothing special about work yesterday, it was just work. I came home and got to see little Daniel. His bump on his head is healing nicely. Still running all over the place with abandon, still as cute as can be! My friend Heather deemed last night wine night so I went over to her house and had some Layer Cake Malbec, delicious. We watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower and discussed life. Always a good way to spend an evening. Tonight I have my friend Danielle’s mum’s 50th Birthday party, I am being picked up so that will definitely be a good time! 🙂
This Friday is a Fab Friday and this time around we have an interesting color combo…
As promised I used the new set that we got at the Occasions Catalog reveal to make a fun and simple shaker card. My card base is a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to make the shaker by cutting a piece of Whisper White for the base, some Old Olive for the frame and a piece of Window Sheet. Some Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Cherry Cobbler is punched out with the Confetti Stars Border Punch to fill the shaker along with some 2013-2014 In-Color Sequins. The tag in the middle is from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set* and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Bermuda Bay. I used the Note Tag Punch to punch it out and the 1/8″ Circle Punch to make a hole for my Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine to go through. I stamped the gem on Vellum with Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The back side is colored with my Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and then I cut it out with my Paper Snips. Some very tiny slivers of Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the tag. A fun simple shaker card to let someone know how much you appreciate them! I had a feeling we would see something gray from you with this stamp set! And you did just that! Love the embossing on the vellum, it gives a”realistic”mom to the diamond. I really like how you made the entire front of the card the shaker!
Did you place your pre order yet? I was still awake at 2 this morning so my order, at least part of all that i”need”,has been ordered.
I really enjoyed meeting you on Wednesday. You are a very funny guy! I think we could definitely get into trouble with each other! We need to meet again, maybe half way and not during rush hour!

Super cool card Justin! I bet you had fun punching all those stars. OR were they saved from when you cut star borders on other cards? I love shaker cards so you just knew I would love this one. Thank you Grace! I did have fun punching all the stars! I did have some saved, I like to hoard leftovers and it makes me very happy when I get to use them! I use a bubble envelope and a piece of thick cardboard behind the card when I mail them. I had lots of fun at at the party! Hugs to you too! 🙂
Hi Justin! Happy Friday! Had to tear myself away from looking at the new catalog on line…oh my! I want just about everything in there! Maybe I need to buy a lottery ticket today? Such a great card! Love that new stamp set! I never tire of your shaker cards—each one seems to be better than the last one. How that’s even possible, I don’t know. 😉 I met some girlfriends last night for our quarterly “meeting” at our favorite wine spot! It was so good to catch up with them. I love a good white…I’m hooked on a nice Gewurztraminer! Hard to say but easy to drink! 😉 Have a fantastic day!

Good use of the new set Justin. Love a shaker card! Already placed 2 orders, one at 3:05 and the other one around 7:00 (hopefully I win the lottery today or something….LOL) Staying home as our furnace as decided to stop working yesterday!!! and waiting for the repairman! It is cold in here (about 51F but feels so much colder than that). Hiding in my scraproom with a little heater and hot tea. Perfect excuse to try that new set on a challenge don’t you think!
