Apparent;ly I decided to sleep in really late today! I had a nice Christmas yesterday and hope that you all of you did too. Thank you for all of your Christmas wishes and kindness, who could ask for a better Christmas gift?! Daniel got a little Fisher Price music set that came with a drum, maracas, tamborine and flute. He played with it for a while but my brother really liked it! LOL! He played with it a lot much to dismay of everyone else especially Erika! Andrew stopped by later in the day and we just sat a talked for a while. After, Taylor came over and we watched Divergent again. Love that movie! This morning I have a bunch of Thank you cards to make and other projects to work on. I think I will escape the house for a bit too, it’s a nice day outside, not too cold so I can’t stay in all day. I took a really nice picture of the sky last night, a nice sky to complete a nice day!
I did make a card last night and it’s for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…
I used some new goodies from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog and that cool bird stamp! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack*. I stamped the greeting from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set* in Soft Suede on the background and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral go down the left side and some Soft Suede across the bottom. The triangles are also Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral and are punched out with the Triangle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bird is also from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set* and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I put a little dot of Crystal Effects on his eye and adhered him to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors together and that DSP has some really great patterns in it. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Thank you very much for taking the time to come by and comment, I always look forward to reading them and writing back! Have a great Friday everyone! 🙂

Really cute card and it seems easy. What kind of bird is he? How do I get your postal address to snail mail you a card if I get one good enough? Have a fun but relaxing day. It’s Friday! Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! I’m actually not sure what kind of bird he is, I just think he’s really cool! I will email you my address! I would be honored to get a card from you! I had a great and hope that you did too! 🙂
Justin, Great card! I love the way you color this bird. The dsp is also perfect as a background. I must admit, when I saw this sketch, I wasn’t crazy about it. But as always, you did a fabulous job with it. Glad you had a nice Holiday.
Thank you Gerri! I love that bird! I’m going to see how many different ways I can color him and the DSP is just really neat! I wasn’t crazy about the sketch either but I do like it when I can make something from one that I’m not crazy about! I hope that your holiday was fantastic! 🙂
Hi Justin—Such a pretty card today. That bird is growing on me! You colored him perfectly—and then the fussy-cutting! You do such a great job on that. Glad you had a nice holiday with family and friends. You’re right…that’s what it’s all about. Glad you were able to sleep in a bit this morning too! Have a great Friday!
Hello Karen!
Thanks so much! I love the bird! He’s a little weird but that’s the fun! My holiday was great and I hope that yours was too! I was not happy about sleeping so late as now I will have to readjust my sleeping for Monday! LOL! I had a fantastic Friday, hope you did too! 🙂
Merry Christmas, I’m glad you had a lovely day and the photo of Daniel from yesterday is very cute. It looks like he is going somewhere with the Christmas lights! Maybe when he is older he will be entering his house at Christmas for light competitions! LOL. Daniels present sounds like loads of fun and noise, especially for his parents! I was given a toy drum when I was a toddler and had it taken away at night as I got up and played it in the night when grandparents stayed, ha, ha!
I really like the card and think the bird is great as can be used for all different occasions throughout the year.
I hope you have a nice day.
Michelle xo
The sky looks beautiful.
A very Merry Christmas to you too Michelle! He looks like he was running off with the Christmas lights! Loved it! Ha! That will be funny if he does do that when he gets older! My brother definitely enjoyed the drum, I said now I know what to get him for his birthday! LOL! That sounds very mischievous of you! LOL!
I do love that bird and he’s fun to color in! I had a lovely day and hope you did too! I had to take the picture of the sky, it was just perfect! XOXO 🙂
WOW that picture is awesome, just beautiful. Christmas was wonderful, awesome time with family and great food. And we never got those 6 inches f snow, YES! OK I do like a white Christmas but a dusting not a blizzad. Today is gorgeous, 50 beautiful sunny.
Love this card, the colors are stunning, love how you worked with the sketch.
Off to see HungerGames with my daughter
Thank you Linda! I love having my phone so I can take a picture whenever I want! I am so happy altho had a good Christmas and that there was no snow! It was nice here again today too! I wish it would stay like that all winter! One can hope! LOL! Happy you like the card too!
Enjoy the Hunger Games, I loved it! 🙂
Hi Justin,
Pretty card, I love that bird! Hope you got to enjoy the nice weather today. You know winter won’t let this mild weather last for more than a day or two! I can relate to your story of Daniel’s gift…when my boys were little, they couldn’t play with the Legos Santa brought until after Mom assembled the project first :)!
Hello Melanie!
Thanks! Yes, love the bird! I did get to enjoy the nice weather! I know that it won’t last but I can hope! LOL! I was obsessed with Legos when I was little and I still love them to this day! 🙂
