Paper Players 225

And it’s Monday again. I had a nice relaxing weekend, something I don’t usually do. I still managed to get some stuff done, not as much as I wanted to but it happens! Yesterday was semi-productive. I got the tree out up and now I need to find the decorations. I ran to BJ’s last night with Heather and then we went over to see Brian & Kim. Andrew stopped by too. Not a bad way to end the day! I can’t believe how fast Christmas is approaching. I need to get my cards out this week. Have you started or finished your cards yet?

Monday and it’s time for another Paper Players challenge. This week we have a theme challenge from Nance…

Paper Players #225

Hmm… a fancy holiday project to me means lots of glitz! I began today’s card with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Basic Black that I heat embossed (I know, shocking!) the tree from the “Vintage” Christmas Lodge Stamp Set in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My frame is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper that I cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies along with a piece of Window Sheet. Before I adhered the Window Sheet to the frame I heat embossed the greeting from the “Vintage” Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and put it in between the frame and Window Sheet. Some sequins are sprinkled on the black and I doubled up on the foam tape so they would be able to move around nicely. I like the way that the vellum obscures the sequins so it’s a little bit of a surprise when you shake the card and they all come up!   6. me four! I love this card, very elegant. My tree has been out of the basement and plugged in for a week now, but not decorated yet, some cards done and some not! oh well, not gonna stress about it either!

  8. To me fancy means elegant and you can’t have elegant without sparkle! This is a fabulous card, one that anyone would love to receive. AND, of course, you made it a shaker card which I am in awe of! If the card is looking for a good home my address is……………..LOL

    My cards are done and mailed. My gifts are wrapped and those that needed to be mailed have been. My tree is up and decorated and yesterday I managed to make my first batch of Christmas cookies. I made a recipe from Betty Crocker which I had never done before. It’s kind of like a tart but is actually chocolate chip cookie dough with a Reese’d peanut butter planted inside. Talk about sweet! The above are the best parts of retirement. Plenty of time and very little stress. 🙂

      I wish I could say that my cards are done. The tree is up but not decorated. I haven’t even thought of shopping yet! I need to get my butt in gear! Your cookies sound fabulous!! I love peanut butter!!
      My Monday wasn’t too bad, I hope that you had a good day! We are to get a nor-easter tomorrow, lots of wind and rain but at least it’s not snow! 🙂

Tree is up and some shopping is done. Not all of it but I’ve made a pretty good dent in it. Need to wrap what I’ve got. Hope your Monday is a good one!

  12. WOW Justin, this card is beeeeeeeeeeeutiful!! I love how the sequins give a bokeh effect behind the vellum. Definitely a black tie, first class card! How do you keep coming up with such original ideas? My cards are posted, I will be making gingerbread this afternoon, still a couple of gifts to buy for my 19 year old son aaaagggghhhhh – what to buy? – any hints? Have a great Tuesday 🙂

    This card is absolutely gorgeous! Probably even more stunning in person. You know my address as well.(Sorry Grace). LOL! I thought you were gonna make your decorations. Guess you ran out of time, time creeps up on us way too fast. Cards are addressed, just need to be put in the mail. Presents are all basically gift cards. Trees up and decorated and the cookies I baked last week are all gone, given away of course! Ok, ok,l had maybe 3 or 4! Maybe 5. Ha – Ha! So, now it’s just waiting for the day before and then l’ll be prepping the food. If you have no where to go your always welcome here! Lol! Take care and enjoy the rest of your night! 🙂 Hugs Donna 🙂
