It’s Wednesday already! Wow! The week is just chugging along. Andrew was up at the office again today for another meeting about the Suicide Prevention website. I thought that it would be good for him to come up with the domain name and tag line. He is going to stop by tonight so we can brainstorm for a bit. The rest of the day was the usual and when I got home I went straight into the Stampin’ Galley to work on my projects for when I’m away next week. I’m looking forward to being in the warmer weather for a bit! How many of you are going to Leadership in Orlando? I’m going down a few days early to see my friend Germaine and then my friend Maggie and I are going to go to Disney on Tuesday! Really looking forward to it!
Today, since it’s Wednesday, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…
I love the newsprint on the lower half of the card so that’s just what I did too! My card base for today is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped my greeting from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black in the upper right corner. The lower part of the card is covered in a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. Across the card is a piece of Basic Gray and a piece of Smoky Slate. I used some Vellum Card Stock and the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with the Project Life Corner Rounder to create my tag. The images are also from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set. The sunburst is heat embossed in Crushed Curry Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the butterfly in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some strategically placed SNAIL holds the tag to the card. A Neutrals Designer Button with some Hemptique Black Hemp Cord Twine is threaded through and tied in a bow with some extra long tails. Three matte black sequins are under the tag and complete the card. I forgot how much I love that Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set and the Heptique Twine is so neat because it holds its shape really well! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take a minute to go over to the blog and check out the other designers projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks so much for coming by for a visit today! Enjoy your Wednesday peeps! 🙂

Good Morning Justin, This is a great card. I love the yellow & black combo. I like the sentiment on the white with the newspaper print on the bottom. Butterflies and Sun! You have to smile. Have a good day. Are you packed yet?
🙂
Hello, Nancy! Thank you so much! Your rundown tells me that you really did enjoy the card. I can’t pack that far in advance, I’ll be packing on Saturday night. 🙂
Good Morning Justin. Kinda ecclectic is really one of my all time favorites, it has some many fun elements and it is my “go to” for a lot of different occasions. This is a really creative card and love the curry and black together.
I am sure you are ready for some warmer weather and sunshine- sounds like the Orlando trip is coming at a perfect time.
Hello, Marty!
Kinda Eclectic is one of my favorites too, somehow I had forgotten about it though. It does have really great elements and it’s good for so many different occasions.
With the chilly temperatures we’ve been having here, I’m very much looking forward to Sunday.
Hope you had a good day! 🙂
this is a very pretty card…I love the yellow in it. It is snowing this morning in NE Ohio. It is a very pretty snow right now and I don’t have to go anywhere so it is fine with me!! Have a great week.
Thanks so much, MaryJo! I’m glad you’re enjoying the snow. It doesn’t matter what I have going on, I don’t like it at all. LOL! 🙂
This is a fabulous card. Love the yellow and black combo and the heat embossing on vellum. The button and black twine add just the right amount of wow factor.
Thanks very much Shannon! I really like that twine because it holds its shape. I hope you had a good day! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
The Sunburst stamp is one of my absolute favorites and your heat embossing on vellum is always absolutely perfect! What a happy card :)! In addition the saying is one of my favorites because it is so very true. This is a gorgeous card and a fabulous sketch.
You are going to have a great time in Orlando for sure. Not only will you get to see a lot of your stamping friends but you might luck out and meet Goofy as well……..wouldn’t that be a fun thing. Of course we will all be waiting for pictures.
It’s really great that you are taking Andrew “under your wing” and encouraging him to use his creativity instead of just telling him what needs to be done. Way to go. Andrew is very lucky to have you as a friend and vice versa. You are both so supportive of each other. Have yourself a wondrous Wednesday. Hugs from cold, cold Maine! XO
Hi there, Grace!
Thank you very much. I thought it was quite the happy card, too. And I agree with you about the saying!
I won’t lie, Grace, I’m looking forward to getting on the plane this Sunday. My friend has already told me that it is in the upper 70s. I’ll try and send back some warmth to you. I’ll make sure and take a lot of pictures, and I get to see Goofy every day where I work. LOL!
Andrew is a great person and extremely intelligent, too. He has a lot of creativity, and it’s always nice to find a different outlet for it. Maybe one day we’ll get him to make another card, Grace, what do you think?! LOL! Best friends are always there for one another, that’s just what we do. Regular hug from New York today, but a warm hug is coming your way on Sunday. 🙂
Justin, I LOVE this card!!! The vellum tag, newsprint dsp, embossing, butterfly – it’s all pulled together as you always do. Beautiful!!
Have a great time in Orlando! It sure will be nice for you to get away from this cold weather.
Why thank you very much, Gerri! I’m so glad you enjoyed the card.
Yes, I can’t wait to get away from the cold for a bit. 🙂
Lovely!!
Thanks, Cindy! 🙂
Hi Justin! Great card today! You are the master of the collage-y style card in my book! Love the pop of yellow on there too! So your bow looks a little like Mickey’s ears…hmmm…Disney sounds like fun! I’m sure you’ll have a great time and the warm weather will be so welcoming! Can’t wait for the pics! Have a good rest of your day!
Hi Karen!
Thanks a lot! I do like a collage card even if it’s just a simple one. I guess the bow does look a little like Mickey’s ears, and I should be seeing him on Tuesday! I am really looking forward to warmer temperatures, and don’t worry, there will be lots of pictures. I hope you had a good day! 🙂
Love your website and all the creative projects you post! Enjoy checking daily for new ideas!
Thank you so very much, Teresa! I’m so happy to have you stop by and I hope you had a great day! 🙂
Hey Justin, what a beautiful card! You should get some sort of prize for making something so close to the sketch! I love the sun on the tag, you have made me think I may need to order some vellum at Saturday’s party… I don’t think I’ll make it to leadership in Orlando this year, lol, although I’d SO love to go! And to Disney World (I went to Disnayland in 2013, that was pretty special) you will have the best week ever! I’ll be thinking of you while I’m at work *sigh 😉 Have a great day Justin xxx
Hi Kelly!
LOL! Thanks! I saw the newsprint on the sketch and I couldn’t not use it. You definitely need to get some vellum, Lord knows I love it!
How great would it be to have you at Leadership?! I’ll be sending you happy thoughts from Disney World! 🙂
Love this card Justin! And, I enjoy checking out the props you are including with your photos lately. You obvious take a lot of care to coordinate them with your projects and they really do add a lot to the photos.
Thank you very very much, Dana! I do enjoy putting the pictures together almost as much as I like making the cards. Glad you like it! 🙂
Wow! You just keep on creating beautiful works of art. Love the colors, and a velum tag, perfect. Do you sell your samples or are you like me, I have a huge box of them waiting to be mailed to the special someone for the special occasion.
Fllordia in the winter, I’m jealous. BUt I will be heading there in May for a conference, best part work pays for it, so I plan on extending my stay a little longer. Disney and Orlando studios I cant wait
Thanks so much, Linda! No, I’m just like you. I have boxes of cards that I keep saying I’m going to list on Etsy, but it never happens. Maybe one day. LOL!
Yes, I’m very happy to be going someplace warm and it sounds like you will have an awesome time when you go down there in May.
I hope you had a good day! 🙂
Hi Justin,
I love the sun embossed on the vellum tag and the bow is neat! Your projects from yesterday are gorgeous too!
It’s always nice when you have a little holiday planned in the warmth and hope you have fun. The website you and Andrew are working on sounds brilliant and I’m sure will help. Did the brainstorming go well? Need pizza or something like that for brainstorming!
Hello Michelle!
Thank you! I really think that embossing on Vellum is such a cool look! Glad that you enjoyed all of the projects!
I am so looking forward to going away! Just finishing up all my projects for the blog, lots to do still! The website is going to be great and I’m so glad that I could get Andrew involved. The brainstorming did go well, pizza definitely would have helped though! LOL! 🙂
