We had a some snow this morning, about 5 inches! And it was that powdery fluffy snow so the roads were a treat on the way to work. Someone spun out in front of me and then sat there for about 5 minutes composing themselves and then our top speed was 5 MPH. I can’t get up the hill at 5 MPH, I need a little momentum! LOL! The convertible is not a fan of the winter, I think that it likes it less than I do! However, around 12:00 the sun came out and it was actually not bone chillingly cold! That will be short lived though as we are supposed to have the coldest day of the year on Friday. I think I will stay in that whole day! When I came home last night there was a little package from England for me from a company called Clearly Besotted. They are small stamp company and I fell in love with one of their sets and had to have it! I’ll post a card in the near future so you can see what I mean. Last night I played around in the Stampin’ Galley and skyped with my buddy Eva. All in all a pretty good day!
It’s Wednesday and you know that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch challenge…
I kept pretty close to the sketch and came up with a very simple yet elegant card! For the base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and covered the entire front with a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack. I adhered a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon behind the paper and then used a fork to tie my bow. A Glue Dot holds the bow in place. My greeting is from the Hello There Host Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Before I removed the label from my cutting platform I used a Gold Gelly Roll Pen to outline the die cut with the Framelit. I adhered a doily from the Artisan Embellishment Kit to the card behind the label which is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Up in the right hand corner are three flowers from the same set. They are stamped in Gold Encore Metallic Ink on Sahara Sand and then heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. A quick punch with the “Vintage” Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a few Basic Jewels Pearls before they are adhered with Glue Dots. Three more pearls along the bottom of the label and the card is complete! I love the DSP, nice and subtle, especially with the gold! I hope that you too like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog and take a look at my teammates projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today, I hope that you all have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Thanks so much! 🙂
Gorgeous card!beautiful!!!
Thank you Ruthie! 🙂
Pretty card, Justin. Very elegant. We’re supposed to get the cold today and tonight…brrrr!!! And rain, freezing rain, and snow for the weekend. Doesn’t get much better than that – NOT! LOL, have a good day and stay warm!
Thanks so much Melanie! You think that you have cold, it’s going to be -15 here on Friday! Now that’s cold! It will be hard to stay warm tomorrow! You keep warm too! 🙂
Hi Justin! We just got 12″ of snow, so I know what you mean! Usually ours is accompanied with rain and ice, but this was the light, fluffy stuff. We had snow ice cream for dessert with our lasagna last night. Might as well get something out of it, right?
I love your technique of using the gelly roll pen to frame the framelit!! Very nice card!
Ugh! That’s no good Jeanne! We had the light fluffy stuff on Tuesday. I don’t like it no matter what kind it is! LOL! What’s snow ice cream?!
So glad that you like the card! Thanks! 🙂
It’s easy Justin. Take a couple tsps of vanilla, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and add enough snow to make ice cream! It’s yummy. Just gotta find some nice fresh snow! Don’t use the yellow stuff….. Contrary to what some might tell you, it’s not lemon! LOL
Oh! Thanks Jeanne! I will have to give that a try! LOL! Nope, no yellow stuff! Ha ha! 🙂
pretty card. I live in NE Ohio and I think you get the weather we have had about a day or so later. It is bone-chilling here and I am tired of it!! LOL! It is snowing a little bit right now and supposed to snow more today and stay really cold. The only upside to this is that my husband and I are leaving town very early Saturday morning and going for a week to St. Lucia!!! I cannot wait for some sunshine and HOT weather!!
Thank you MaryJo! Yes, I wish that you would stop sending the weather my way! LOL! Oh! I’m so jealous! You are going to love that trip! Make sure that you bring back some sun and warmth please! Have the best time! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
I must say when I saw this card I saw romance in the making. You know the kind – like when you see someone and instantly your pulse skips a beat, your entire thought process shifts to mush and you can’t take your eyes off that person. It’s beautiful, it’s elegant, it’s everything a kiss would be if you had to put the feel of it on paper. Yes, I’m getting a little sappy but that is just the way this card struck me.
Back to reality – It’s still super cold here and we are supposed to get 6-12″ of snow tonight through tomorrow. AND THEN, oh joy, another storm over the weekend which might bring more than a foot of snow! I keep telling myself this is good because we won’t have to worry about the well going dry and that worked for a while but it’s getting harder and harder to find a positive spin for this weather. The Hubs keeps telling me it’s better than dealing with mudslides and tornadoes and he is right.
So have yourself a Happy Hump day. Friday is almost here and, if it’s so cold you don’t want to go out – don’t. Instead hang in the stamping galley and create away. Oh, by the way, I make 20 Christmas cards every month so that when Christmas comes I’m not all squirrely and stressed about getting my cards out. XXOO 🙂
Hello Grace!
Yes! I thought that it was pretty romantic! You always have the best descriptions of my cards! I should have you write my posts for me! I absolutely love the feeling that you got from the card, it’s the same one that I got!
It was actually “warm” here today at 34! I really do think that we have all had enough of this winter. Yes, there are people that have worse to deal with but enough already!
I had a good hump day and yes, it’s almost Friday! I would love to ba able to stay home on Friday and just craft the day away but that annoying work wants me there! I think that I am going to do at least 10 christmas cards a month! That’s a great idea! Hugs to you!! XOXO 🙂
Justin, I agree with Grace. I thought the exact same thing when I saw your card today. Beautiful and breath taking! Be still my heart! WOW…. I must say that your idea of using that Gelly Roll pen along the die before you removed it is such a fantastic idea! I’ve never thought of that. It gives just the right amount of “oomph” to match the rest of the card. I must use this as a CASE for my Wedding card for my May stamp camp. I’m sure it will be a hit! I will be sure to tell everyone where I found it…you’ll probably get more blog followers for sure! Hugs! And please stay warm, be careful. I know that the Midwest and especially the East coast is getting slammed again this year. I feel so bad… I used to be a part of that, but that’s exactly why I moved to Arizona. It’s been in the high 70’s here… c’mon down! We could make cards all day! 🙂
Thank you Bobbi! I like to outline the die cuts with the Framelits, it gives it a nice look and is nice and easy to do! I hope that your attendees like the card! you’ll have to let me know! I am doing my best to stay warm and I’m always careful! Thanks for your concern though! I wish that I was in Arizona! I have definitely had enough of this weather! How fun would that be to craft with you all day! 🙂
Love your elegant card today! The colors are just beautiful.
We had 4 more inches of snow for a total of about 10 more or less. The ice underneath is the bad part. More to come on Saturday. Oh joy!
Take very good care of yourself! Nancy B
Thank you very much Nancy! We have all had way too much snow! I’m done! I think that you are too! You take care too! Warm hugs form NY! 🙂
B E A U T I F U L !!!
I’m with Grace & Bobbi. It took my breath away!
Thanks very much Kathy! 🙂
Hey Justin, I’m home! Wow, today’s card is stunning! Something quite different, would make a perfect wedding card. That designer paper is so pretty! Yesterday’s card is just gorgeous too – I can see you are trying to convince spring to begin early? You must be SO over that weather by now!?! Well, we had the BEST couple of days in the city, One Direction put on an awesome show, fireworks and all!! Our hotel room was right on the beach, with a fantastic view of the marina from the bedroom. I could live there (if I was rich, Lol!) Back to work today *sigh, at least the weekend is almost here! Hope you have a great day Justin! Cheers, Kelly xoxo 🙂
Welcome home Kelly! Thank you! I think it would make a neat wedding card too! Glad that you like yesterday’s card too! I am definitely trying to get spring here early! Done with this Winter thing! I’m so glad that you had a great time! I have heard that One Direction is quite good, happy they didn’t disappoint! Wouldn’t it be nice to be rich?! Maybe one day! Yes, it’s almost Friday! I hope that you too had a nice day! Hugs! XOXO 🙂
S T U N N I N G!!!
Thank you Karen! 🙂
Beautiful, elegant. What more can I say. No snow, just a few episodes of flurries but with the winds it was a whiteout. High of 3 today, I can hardly wait for tomorrow.
Thank you so much Linda! You are having the same kind of weather as us! We are to get really low on Friday, I can’t wait either! 🙂
Thanks for your tip on how you did the outline on the framelit! That will work with so many of them. I’m now happy and not looking out the window at all the snow and the thermometer…nope, not looking. Just shivering in here.
Welcome Theresa! It does work really well with most of the shape ones! I don’t blame you for not looking! I try not to either! 🙂
Beautiful card, Justin!!!
I’m looking forward to seeing what you got from Clearly Besotted. That’s one of my favorite stamp and die companies.
Thank you El! Yes, I do love Clearly Besotted! Ans it was cool to get a package from England! 🙂
