Another pretty nice day here! It was sunny and a bit windy yesterday up until 4:00pm when it started to rain. We are supposed to be back in the 50’s for the next week or so. No more top down in the car for a while! I had a nice evening last night. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then FaceTimed with Michael for a while too. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, always love to see her and we are going to get together for dinner soon. The best news ever, my Apple Watch that said it wouldn’t ship until June, I got the notification that it will be here tomorrow!! WOO HOO!! I cannot wait! Tomorrow is Friday!! I have another busy weekend ahead but it’s a lot of fun stuff so it’s all good! What’s going on in your neck of the woods?!
The project that I worked on last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
I decided to do a nice clean earthy card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. Across the bottom is a piece of Brushed Gold with a thin strip of Early Espresso in the middle. My panel is a piece of Watercolor Paper. All of the images and greeting are from the An Open Heart Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow and watercolored. I added some Cherry Cobbler to the berries. For the bird I stamped him in Early Espresso and watercolored him too adding some Crushed Curry and Cherry Cobbler. The panel is backed with some Mossy Meadow. My greeting is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and wrapped around the back. I then adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love stamping the images and then using a wet brush to pull the ink and watercolor them! I also love the kraft with the gold! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you very much for taking a little time to stop by and see me today! Have an formidable Thursday! 🙂

Good Morning to you Justin! You paper snipped the bird didn’t you? Oh my gosh, you must go through a new pair of paper snips once a year! LOL Nice card today and I love the way you manage to slip in some vellum and a few sequins! You must keep those two right on your stamping desk where you are looking at them all the time so that you remember to use them. Too funny!
Glad you had a good day yesterday and I hope that today is even better. Busy day here today. The sun is shining brightly but I see the pine trees have water on them and the wind is blowing so it must have rained during the night. We pretty much have the same forecast as you right until mid week next week. Sun in the morning, rain in the afternoon. I’ll be happier when I see the Daffodils in bloom at the front of my yard. They are only about 3″ out of the ground right now. Not in a hurry for those hot, humid days though. Hope you have a great day today and that tomorrow is even better! XO 🙂
Hi Grace!
I did paper snip the bird! LOL! I actually replace my Paper Snips once every six months! Thank you! I actually do have them close by but I always remember the sequins!
Yes, I had a nice day! Sounds like you are enjoying the sunshine! Yes, we do have the same weather! Tomorrow will be a great day!! It’s Apple Watch day! XOXOXO 🙂
Great card ! I like this stamp set ,but I do not have it . It is a keeper set ,but all my jillion stamps are “keepers”….giggle !
You are going to show “The Watch “off to us aren`t you ? Love the commercial ! I think they are super fun ….I would be hitting all the wrong Apps and stuff because it is smaller than my fingers !
Thank you very much Sonny! I love that set! I too have a lot of keepers! LOL!
I am going to show off the watch! I can’t wait to get my hands on it! It’s smaller than my fingers too but they have ways around that! 🙂
Again, Justin, love everything about this card. The details are great. Can’t wait to hear about your new watch!
🙂
Thank you Nancy! I can’t wait to get the watch! 🙂
Hello Justin! How fun for you to get your watch tomorrow! Can’t wait to hear all about it and what you do with it! This is such a pretty card today. I just ordered this stamp set and was hoping it wouldn’t be on the retired list. I love that you used vellum for your sentiment. So pretty! Oh and great job with the watercoloring. Hope your day is going well…it’s almost Friday…yay!
Hi Karen! I’m so excited about the watch! It was supposed to be June! YAY for an early delivery! I’m sure that you will be sick of me talking about it soon!I love that stamp set! It’s going “Vintage” but I don’t care!Today was good and I hope the same is true for you! 🙂
Woohoo! That’s great you are going to get your watch earlier 😀 Hey Justin, betcha you are one happy camper!
The colors are so gorgeous and earthy is a good term, lol! I really love, love the watercoloring! It’s a great way to highlight the branch and the bird in this set. I agree with Grace, you must have the sequins and vellum right there, along with your trusty snips. The sequins add just enough and aren’t over the top. You are a great “sequin put-er-on-er”, hee hee 😉
YES Jill! It’s like Christmas!! I am one very happy camper!!
Thank you! I think the colors are nice and earthy too! Random sequin placement took a long time to learn! LOL! 🙂
Love how this looks….beautiful scene against the Kraft background! Glad you shared it at FMS!
Thanks so much Linda! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Hi Justin!
Love the bird! I always love the birds. Great card! Another one of my favorite stamp sets.
Thank you Gerri! I’m a big bird fan myself!! 🙂
I love this card, Justin! It is so clean and fresh, and the mix of kraft, crisp white, and vellum look fabulous together. It’s always good to see you in the gallery at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thanks so much Amy! I love Kraft and you know how I feel about Vellum! I hope that you have a wonderful week! 🙂
This is really pretty. That bird is fantastic and I love the vellum. Glad to see you this week at FMS!
Thank you very much Jen! Birds and vellum are up there on my list! Have a great week! 🙂
