Yesterday was a rainy day here. I came home from work and had dinner and then Heather came by and helped me clean my apartment! It has never been so clean! She is a cleaning machine! Everything in the bathroom and kitchen sparkles! LOL! It needed it bad and now it will be a lot easier to keep up with! We ran out to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I even got to make some cards last night too! What a productive evening, all after work! My brother, Erika and Daniel went to LA yesterday. It was Daniel’s first flight and they said that he was great! He even slept for two hours on the plane! He’s such a good little boy! There is even a picture of him at the airport looking like a seasoned traveller!
He looks like he’s saying come on guys, lets go! I love his little jet plane bag too!
Well, it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…
I wanted to try some foiling again and Jennifer McGuire came up with a new way to do it using embossing powder! My card today is 5″ x 5″, a size that I never make! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is Garden Green. On top is a piece of the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. I adhered a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon with some Pistachio Pudding behind it around the back with some Sticky Strip and then adhered it to the card. My main panel is a piece of Whisper White backed with some Calypso Coral. I heat embossed the image from the I Like You Host Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then ran it through my laminator with some Gold Deco Foil. The greeting is from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set, it’s also foiled and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch along with the flowers that are from the Something to Say Stamp Set and punched out with the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. The main panel is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, along with the greeting and the flowers are adhered with Glue Dots. A Subtles Designer Button is adhered with a Glue Dot and then some Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins are adhered in the lower right corner. I absolutely love the gold foil with the heat embossing! It’s so smooth and shiny, you can see it a little better in the second picture! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and see the rest of the design team’s projects and enter one of yours in the gallery! I hope that you are inspired to try some foiling on your projects and I thank you so much for coming by to see me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Justin,
OMG! How cute is that shot of your nephew!! That could win a photo contest. Also, I never saw an airport so empty.
Your card is beautiful! Love the gold foil. The Gold Soiree dsp goes perfectly with it.
Hi Gerri!
I love that picture of Daniel! Yes, the airport looks pretty empty doesn’t it?!
Thank you! I had fun with the foiling! 🙂
Good Morning Justin. Gorgeous card- the gold foil embossing really adds a great touch and the DSP is perfect.
I agree- that picture of your nephew is adorable. I love the little jet bag too. Traveling with toddlers can be such a challenge- glad they had a good flight.
Hello Marty!
Thank you so much! The gold foiling os fun!
Daniel is just a cutie! The jet bag is just too cute! I was happy that he was a good boy on the flight too! 🙂
Oh my gosh, Daniel!!! You are too cute! Love that travel bag, you are a little man on a big mission! 😀
Justin, I can’t believe you cleaned, shopped AND made cards – all after work… Maybe I watch too much tv!?! Cool card, the gold looks amazing, and I like that spotty paper! Well, I hope your Wednesday is great, mine was ok, time for bed now. Good night Justin! 🙂 xoxo
He he! Thanks! He is a little cutie and does look like he is going somewhere really important!
It was definitely a lot to do after work but I’m glad that it’s done! I don’t watch any TV at all! I’m glad that you enjoyed the card! Hope you had a nice sleep! XOXO 🙂
Good Morning Justin! I love that picture of Daniel! And what a cute little suitcase he’s rolling. Just darling! I can imagine how big his eyes will be once he gets to Disney! Great card today! I had kind of forgotten about that Gold Soiree paper and recently pulled it out…I love it! That gold foil embossing is just great…you can tell it’s different than the regular gold embossing powder. We have a few days of rain here, but it’s much needed. April showers bring those May flowers. Our lilacs have buds on them too, I love all the new-ness that Spring brings! Have a great Wednesday Justin!
Hello Karen!
Daniel was great on the plane and I can’t wait to hear all about Disney! Thank you! The Gold Soiree DSP is fun and different! I love the foil, it’s so shiny! I too love all of the rebirth and beauty that Spring brings! Hope your day was good too! 🙂
Beautiful card – love that foiling. And that picture of Daniel is just too darn cute!
Thank you Carol! Love my little Daniel! 🙂
Hi Justin:
If the airline marketing people had any innovative ideas they would snag that photo of Daniel and use it in ads. That is one of the cutest “kids” photos I have ever seen. Well, if you take a beautiful child, put him in a “grown up” environment and have the child have an expression of exasperation with his parents – you have an instant winner. The ad would go viral in minutes I’m sure. Daniel’s eyes are amazing.
You did a fantastic job with the gold foil on today’s card. The shine is amazing. The Itty Bitty accents punches are some of my favorite. They are small enough to fit into just about any space including the hexagon die spaces.
I have a proposal – if Heather gets bored and wants to Spring clean have her take a drive up to the Beautiful State of Maine and clean my cabin. In return I will make her a quilt. How’s that for a deal? LOL You have yourself a Wonderful Wednesday my friend! Love and hugs! 🙂
Hey Grace!
YES! I agree! I think that he should be in some kind of media! Even clothes because he is such a sharp dresser! He does have the most incredible eyes!
Thank you! I love that gold foil and with the heat embossing it’s even smoother! Those punches are among my faves too!
I will let Heather know! Heck, I would come and clean for one of your beautiful quilts! I hope that you had a nice day! Mine was pretty good! Love and hugs to you too! XOXO 🙂
Daniel is so cute, he does look like a seasoned traveler pulling his carry on to security! Hope he enjoys Disney. Love your card today, the foiling looks pretty.
LOL! Yes, he does! Thank you Lynne! 🙂
OMG Justin! That is the CUTEST
Thanks Louise! 🙂
LOL – Let’s try that again….. This is really the CUTEST photo. He looks so much like a little man, yet he is, what, only 17-18 months? right? What an expression. He really looks like he is saying: come on guys, we don’t have all day here. Can’t wait to see Mickey (or Minnie). Boy, he sure is adorable.
Your card is too. Love what you did with that foil. Will have to look it up, as a technique. I know I do have some that I purchased at Michael’s for something else… chocolate wrapping maybe??? You have a good middle of the week day! 🙂
Ha ha! I thought that was short and sweet! Thanks, he is a really cute little boy! Yes, he is 17 months but he is an old soul!
Glad that you enjoyed the card! The foiling is fun and with the heat embossing all you need is a laminator and you are good to go! 🙂
OMG! Daniel=adorable! I also love the jet plane rolling bag.
Fabulous foiling technique! Love all the details on this card.
Thanks Dana! He is the best! the bag is awesome too!
Glad that you enjoyed the card too! 🙂
Daniel is too cute! I love his airplane bag, too cute. this c ard is fantastic, I LOVE the gold foil, what a neat trick. Can Heather come and help me clean, please!
Thanks Linda! Glad that you like the card too! The foiling is so neat! LOL! I’ll see what I can do with Heather! LOL! 🙂
Oh my gosh, Daniel is sooo cute! I know you’ve heard that before, maybe just a few times, lol! At this age you just want to scoop then up and hug them 🙂
What a beautiful card Justin, I really love the way you paired the technique with the best dsp 🙂 It came so cool, you’ve got to tell us how you did it. Ok, got the laminator part….hmm, I might have a few more things to add to that wish list 😉
Thanks Jill, he is a little charmer! LOL! He is just the best!
I’m glad that you enjoyed the card too! The DSP is really cool! Like the texture, like a magazine! Simple heat embossing and then a trip through the laminator, nice and simple! 🙂
Maybe I could try a really hot iron?? What do you think?
Hi Justin,
Daniel looks so adorable with his case, I think a little traveller in the making there! LOL! I hope they have great time at Disney. Don’t you wish you were there too?
Hey Michelle!
He is too cute sometimes! I’m sure they will have a wonderful time! Yes, I do wish that I was there!! 🙂
Two part message again, it missed end of mine other day! I loved the cards with the skyline which would look great framed. The foiling looks amazing as well on today’s card and different way of doing it.
Thank you for always replying and positivity!
Take care, Michelle xo
Thank you Michelle! I love that foiling, so smooth and shiny! I hope that you had a wonderful day!! Hugs to you from NY!! XOXO 🙂
