Misty Ocean Sand Dollar

Happy Friday peeps! We had a nice ride down to Lancaster yesterday for the CKC Show. We stopped at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, A.C. Moore and Joann’s! It was a crafty little journey and today will be lots more of the same at the show! I haven’t been to this show before so I’m looking forward to it! Michael, Sue and I have had breakfast in the hotel and are about to head out. I’ll have a full report for you tomorrow!

I wanted to share a simple card with you today using one of my favorite things… vellum! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the images from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink randomly on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. I folded the top and bottom over the stamped piece and the used Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the base. Like I said, nice and simple but I always love the look of the Vellum over a stamped background and I love that greeting! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you all have a fantastic Friday! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 197

Ahh, I do love a Thursday that doesn’t involve work! LOL! Yesterday was another hot one here, I snuck out of work a little early so I could head into Manhattan to meet up with Michael. It only took me a little over an hour to get in which was pretty good. I even found a parking space down the block from The Ink Pad again! I had to share the space because I still can’t believe that I got into it!

Manhattan Parking

Now that is a tight fit! LOL! While I was hanging out at the store with Michael and Barbara we had a visitor! Jenny from Craft Test Dummies stopped in! She is awesome! I watch her YouTube channel because she gives unbiased reviews of products. You can check out her blog HERE and her You Tube channel HERE! She also has a new series called Hands on Crafts for Kids that is really neat!

I love to meet people that I see on the internet and they are more awesome that you thought they would be!

Now lets move on to today’s card. It’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. First I want to thank Jen B. for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s sketch! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week’s sketch from Jen B….

Freshly Made Sketches 197

I wanted super simple and I just can’t get enough of that Lawn Fawn set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Best Fishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black in the lower right corner. The banner is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. I inked up the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre Ink and flagged the bottom before adhering it to the card with SNAIL. My fish and fish bowl are from the same Best Fishes Set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and then die cut them with the matching Lawn Fawn Best Fishes Lawn Cuts. The fish are adhered to the bowl with Multi-Purpose Glue and the bowl to the card with Foam Tape. I love coloring with my Copics but I definitely need a few more colors and I love the Ombre flag! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I’m off to Lancaster in a few with Michael and Sue to go to the CKC Show there! If you are going too make sure that you say hello! Thanks for sharing in my day and have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

SORRY FOR THE LATE POST, GODADDY WAS HAVING ISSUES THIS MORNING!

Ahh yes, once again today is my Friday! It was a hot one here yesterday and is going to be even hotter today. I’m not complaining, I do love the summer and you know that if I never saw snow again I would be fine with that! My day was pretty standard. I came home after work and little Daniel was at my parent’s. He was a little cranky but managed to give me that sly little smile! When I got home I Skyped with Andrea and then made some cards. I’m off to the CKC Show in Lancaster with Michael and Sue tomorrow, that should be loads of fun! Sandy stopped by last night for a bit to pick up some things and chat, we are all going to her card class on Monday, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to one of those, should be fun! Looking forward to some quality time with my peeps!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Sandy…

Paper Players #255

Ahh, is that a tag! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is an awesome piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Pack. All of the stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set. The hello is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black right on the background. My tag is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I stamped the flip flops from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics and the cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. The summer is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Words Dies from a piece of Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. I used some Ranger Multi-Medium to adhere them to each other, slightly offset, and then adhered them to the tag with some more Multi-Meduim. I applied a generous dose of Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to make it pop! A piece of American Crafts Primio Brights Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and then it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give the card some sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins along the rays on the background. I really love that background paper, it’s so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Sandy! I thank you so much for stopping by today and I wish you a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 7 – Colors & Still More Manhattan!

Monday, why must you be so… Monday?! Yesterday was a little bit of a let down after the weekend that I had! LOL! Work was more irritating than usual, there are two new people moving into my office and I have seen a side of one them that I never knew existed and to be honest am sad that I have. After the torture I came home and had some dinner and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley playing with some new goodies that I got. I also Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and even snuck in some TV. And yes, I have still more pictures form Manhattan. These are from the walk that Michael and I took along the river. There were some amazing sunsets over the weekend!

I really did love my weekend! They should all be just like that, I would be the happiest person in the universe!

What better way to start off a Tuesday than with a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge?! This week we have a color challenge from Michael…

SIP Color Challenge 7

A nice summery palette, wouldn’t you agree?! I know that you will be surprised but I got another nautical set in the mail! LOL! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Soft Sky to serve as the background for my little scene. The waves are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies from Pacific Point. I flipped the negative of the cut out and adhered it on top of the other one with Foam Tape, I thought it looked neat! The extra large sun is cut out of Daffodil Delight with the Simon Says Stamp A2 Card Curved Edge Die and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. My sailboat and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set. The boat is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, I brushed some Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sails and the greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketchy Banners Dies. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix Sequins give the card a little sparkle! I really am stuck on the nautical theme lately but I just love the sailboats and waves! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge from Michael! Please stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your creation in the gallery! We can’t wait to see what you make! Mojo Monday 408 and More Manhattan!

Well, I had THE best 4 days off! My weekend was fantastic! Yesterday morning Maggie said our goodbyes to Kim and Maggie and headed downtown to have breakfast with Michael. Around 12:30 I walked Maggie to the Subway so she could get to JFK for her flight back to Cali. It was so nice to have Maggie here with me, love her to pieces. She is so happy and funny and I’m glad that she got to meet Michael and Kim! I can’t wait for her to come back!! It was also a lot of fun working at The Ink Pad with Michael. So many people from different countries stop in. We met a sweet lady from France who gave us some really cool tags that she used as business cards! After we closed the store we took a nice long walk along the Hudson and watched all of the boats and people. So relaxing and it was a gorgeous evening. I dropped Michael off in Midtown and then headed home. I really didn’t want to weekend to end! As promised here are some pictures that I took from the High-Line yesterday. It was an amazing sunset!

One good thing about Monday’s, it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Oh how I love a tall & skinny! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Designer Series Paper Pack. Across the lower half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes dies along the top and bottom. My main panel is a piece of Basic Black that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with another piece of Typeset DSP on top. I adhered a sliver of Basic Black along the bottom and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The neat cup is from this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the succulent in Pear Pizzaz. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I say it all the time but I really do love the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin Kits! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Take a minute to head on over the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Oh, I hope that you enjoyed the pictures too, I’ll have some more tomorrow! Pals Paper Arts 261 & Manhattan!

Hello there and a happy Sunday to you! I did get my backpack yesterday, it was a joint effort between Andrew and Taylor! Taylor was nice enough to take the train in and drop it off to me! Maggie and I met her at Penn Station and then from there we stopped back at The Ink Pad and dropped it off before heading downtown. I have not been to the 9-11 site in a few years and have never been to the reflection pools. I cannot tell you the overwhelming feeling of sadness that I experienced while Maggie and I were there. The new tower is beautiful and so is the rest of the site, it’s a nice tribute to all of the innocent people that lost their lives because of someone else’s hatred.

We had walked down so we took the Subway back up to The Ink Pad and met up with Michael. The High Line is nearby so we walked along that for a bit, I have some amazing pictures from there and will share those with you tomorrow. After, we had dinner with Michael and then Maggie and I headed up to meet my friend Kim at Bev and Jason’s apartment. From there we took a cab back down to Kim’s. Before we turned in for the evening we spent a little time on the roof deck. Some more cool pictures and I’ll share those later in the week. Today, Maggie and I will head down to The Ink Pad and meet up with Michael. I’m working in the store with him today and my Maggie will head to the airport, she goes back to Cali in the afternoon. A very busy but amazing day!

Today’s card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I really liked the Lawn Fawn set that I used for last month’s card class so I thought I would break it out again! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder for the background and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam some SNAIL and a little Multi-Purpose Glue. I stamped all of the images from the Lawn Fawn Happy Wedding Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with Copics. They are cut out with the matching Happy Wedding Lawn Cuts Dies and adhered to pieces of Basic Black that were cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small and Large Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. The circles are then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Basic Black and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. It really is a cute little set and I love those 3D Embossing Folders! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge along with pictures from my day yesterday! Thank you very much for coming by and I hope that you have super Sunday! 🙂

Just Some Pictures!

Sometimes in my mad dash to leave the house and make sure that everyone has their stuff I forget mine! My backpack with my computer is at home and I’m in Manhattan for the weekend. Huge bummer! I’m trying to work out a way to get it here, fingers crossed! So for today I have some pictures that I took yesterday. Michael, Maggie and I went to Port Jefferson, a nice little town in the north shore of Long Island. You can take the ferry over to Bridgeport CT from there. It was a beautiful day and we just wandered around and enjoyed all of the scenery and cute little shops. I hope that you enjoy the pictures and I’ll be back tomorrow, no matter what, with a new card for you!! Enjoy you Saturday!!

Fab Friday 69

Hello everyone! It’s FRIDAY! Yesterday was another great day! Maggie took Michael’s Baby Book class at Scrap-A-Latte so we were there for most of the day. Everyone loved the class and the book is awesome! I helped out and worked on a few things for Renee. After everyone was done Maggie, Michael and I stopped by the house and Skyped with Andrea for little bit before heading to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to my house I worked on another card and then we watched some of the videos that I shot from the Sam Smith concert. This morning we are going to head out East for the day and maybe pay a visit to the wineries.

It’s also time for another Fab Friday and this time we have a color combos for you…

Fab Fri 69 7-24-2015

Today my card begins with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. I ran two strips of of Bohemian Designer Washi Tape down the left side. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. The flowers are from the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Versa-Mark on Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow, heat embossed with White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with the matching dies. The leaves are adhered to the tag with SNAIL and the flowers with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine through the top and then adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Thanks Script Die. I cut it out twice from Lost Lagoon and adhered them to each other and to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. I really do love the look of white heat embossing for florals, especially on the dark card stock! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with! Thank you for stopping by today and have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 196 & Sten-doodle!

It was another great day weather wise here on Long Island! Yesterday I snuck out of work at 3:00 and headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. I brought my supplies with me to make my card for today so I worked on it there while Michael finished preparing for his classes. Last night was his Sten-doodle class and that was a lot of fun! I challenged myself to be as random as possible. Not an easy feat for me who likes things that are very uniform and organized but in the end I really love how my elephant turned out! It was a fun class but quite because everyone was concentrating on tracing and coloring! Heather and Taylor dropped Maggie off around 9:00. It’s so good to have her here! She met everyone and after class Michael, Maggie and I went out to grab a bite to eat. By the time we got home and finished chatting it was 2:00am! Another fantastic day! Here are a few pictures from yesterday!

I flipped the sketch for my card that I put together in my head and ran home at lunch to get the supplies to make! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad across the bottom. My panel is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die. I also cut out a piece of Soft Sky and then used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders to cut them again and adhered the on top of one another with some Foam Tape behind the top one. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. The boat is from the same set and is colored in with Copic Markers and adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. For the sun and the clouds I used the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers Dies and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. The panel is mounted to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Finally, a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are adhered with Ranger Multi-Purpose Glue. Are you sick of the nautical theme yet?! Clearly I’m not! LOL! I love that little sailboat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the fun pictures form Michael’s class! Thank you for sharing in my days and have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Today I have a fun card for you for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #254

I have had the stamp set that goes with the cool glasses die and have been dying to use it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I stamped the glasses from the My Favorite Things Geek is Chic Photopolymer Stamp Set in So Saffron and Smoky Slate on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb in a repeating pattern. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A piece of Vellum Card Stock is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. I cut out the glasses from a piece of Basic Black twice using the Die-namics Geek is Chic Dies and adhered them on top of one another with Ranger Multi-Purpose Glue. My greeting is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the Vellum. The glasses are then adhered to the vellum and the Vellum to the card with more Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the glasses and the greeting is just too cool!
