Another beautiful Sunday here on Long Island! I spent a lot of time in the Stampin’ Galley yesterday working on projects. In the afternoon I decided that it was time that I learned how to change my oil in my car. My dad usually does it but I should be able to so that’s just what I did! Felt pretty good to be able to do it too! After the car was finished I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some card stock and I took Winston with me. He loves the convertible, no need for him to hang his head out of the window!
When I got back I went to Applebee’s with Mum and Dad for dinner. What did you all do yesterday?!
It’s the start of another week and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…
I picked up this really cool paper pad from Michaels a few days ago and have been meaning to use it so I did on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Basic Grey that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Feathers Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The gold and shiny black paper is from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Circles to cut them out, rounded the corners on the square with my Corner Chomper and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. A piece of the gold glitter paper from the same pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die along with a piece of Black Fun Foam. I adhered them to each other and to another piece of the shiny black with Multi-Matte Medium. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins to the circle with more Multi-Matte Medium. I love the matte gold and shiny black paper! The black looks a little like patent leather! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Thank you very much for stopping by today! I wish you all an awesome Monday! 🙂

Very striking! Very nice! I love the stitching die and the shinny papers! Hope Winston wears a seat belt while you are driving. He looks so cute in his “spot”. I love how much you see your family, that’s the best.
🙂
Thank you Nancy! Love that paper! No, I have to get a seatbelt for Winston, he had one and hated it! I love to get to see my family as much as I do! 🙂
Hey Justin! I missed you by 24 hours in NYC! Apparently we were at all the same places but I was there on Sunday- Ink Pad, High Line and Chelsea Market. I like the Ink Pad. Can’t get out of there without buying SOMETHING! Have you been back to see Diana at Moon Rose in Huntington? Love her store and her choice of stamps the best. My absolute favorite! Have a great day!
Oh, bummer! The Ink Pad is fantastic! I haven’t been back to Moon Rose but I will make sure that I do get back there! She is a very nice person too! 🙂
That card is really “hot”! Love it. I’m traveling and missing the challenges but trying not to miss my favorite blogs.
Thanks Carol! Thank you for squeezing me in! Hope you are enjoying your travels! 🙂
Hi Justin:
Winston is the cutest! I bet he does love the convertible! I really love all the bling and the design on today’s card. The gold glitter paper and sequins are so stunning. You did an exceptional job with this sketch.
The hubs has returned to home base so now it’s time for me to get my stuff together so I can leave on Thursday. He won’t be bored with me gone – I have quite the “honey do” list for him. The weather is absolutely spectacular today here and the foliage is at its peak. What an amazingly beautiful world we live in.
Have yourself a Marvelous Monday and get out and enjoy this weather while you can. The meteorologists are predicting a particularly harsh winter this year. Oh joy – NOT! Luv ya!
Hello Grace!
Yes, Winston is a cutie and such a good dog! He does love the car, what dog doesn’t like the wind?! Glad that you like the card, I had a feeling that you would enjoy all of the shiny-ness!
Glad that hubby is back, I trust that he had a nice time! Yes, I sat in the city yesterday and thought the same thing as you!
I did have a great day and hope that you did too! I was outside a lot yesterday taking all of the glorious weather in! I hope that the meteorologists are wrong!! Love you too! XOXO 🙂
Cool card and cool paper! I thought of patent leather too when I saw the black. Now you just need a shoe die 🙂
Thank you Dana! Yes, a shoe die would be perfect! 🙂
What an awesome card, retro? masculine? Love it.
I love SU Hamburger Box die, but he assembly drives me nuts!!!! But I did finish my Halloween gifts for co-workers. I am a doily nut and SU spider web doilies are so cool. Then I finally played with Altenew Lilly die, gorgeous!! I also bought their inks, beautiful, and they dry to rich vibrant colors.
Then came Monday, LOL
Thanks very much Linda! I really do love that paper!
I feel your pain with that die, it’s cool but not fun to out together! I have yet to get the spiderweb doilies! Oh, the Lily Die, I have to look at that one! Thanks for letting me know about the ink, I was curious! You and I are a lot alike! LOL! I’m waiting for the Hero Arts Kit! 🙂
