Mojo Monday 432

Day two of Snowmageddon 2016. Got my car all dug out and then last night the plows finally came through and put it all back, thanks town workers! Our final total here was 30 inches, that’s a little too much I think! I believe that the snow should be only in the mountains! People that like it can go there to experience it! LOL! The rest of my day was spent crafting and watching a little TV. The X-Files returned last night and was just as amazing as I had hoped that it would be! The second part is on tonight! All of the original cast is there, it was so good to see Scully and Mulder back together! I watched all nine season when it aired years ago and the new episode didn’t disappoint. It’s a six part series, hopefully they will bring it back with a full season! This morning I will go and dig out my car… again. If the plows come back I will not be held responsible for my actions!

The start of the week and we have another new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo432

I guess that my card was influenced by the weather! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Silent Night 6×6 Paper Pad that I got whilst in London! My three banners are cut from Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Basic Gray. For the panel I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Craft Die to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb. I sprayed the back with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and adhered it to a piece of Vellum and that is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The Basic Gray Circle is punchedΒ out with the 1″ Circle Punch along with a piece of Smoky Slate. I heat embossed the snowflake fromΒ the Simon Says Stamp Circle Saying Holidays Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. The Birthday Wishes is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White. The are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A little sprinkling of Essentials by Ellen Iridescent Gray and Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear Sequins competes the card. I love the colors and think that it would make the perfect winter birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Make sure and head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the teams cards! Thank you so much for staring another week off with me! Have an awesome Monday peeps! πŸ™‚

  1. Great card, and fwiw, I always love to see your staging too. I DVR’ed X-Files last night and can’t wait to see the new episodes. Good luck today with your car!

    1. Thanks Leah! The X-Files was one of my favorite shows, so glad that it’s back even if it’s only six episodes! I’ll tackle the car later! πŸ™‚

  2. Justin – you started me off with a good laugh this morning – Snowmageddon – a new word and I love it! I do agree that 30″ is a lot of snow to deal with. I often wonder if they have a memorial for all the plow drivers that have been killed in the line of duty! The hubs seems to think they wait at the end of the road until everyone has their driveway cleared and then head down the road at 80 mph to make sure the snow they are pushing go as far up the driveways as possible.

Your thoughts about snow are not reflected in your card. The card is gorgeous and soft and warm. What perfect colors for a winter birthday card. You did a fantastic job (as always). Sending HUGE warm hugs to you on this chilly winter day. XO Have a Marvelous Monday my friend. πŸ™‚

    1. LOL! I’m always happy when I can make you laugh Grace! Ha ha! The plow drivers, I know they are just doing their job but come on now, who wants to shovel twice?! I agree with your Husband!
Thank you! Yes, I guess if I were to make a card inspired by the snow it would be black and red! LOL! Thanks for the hug and here is one right back to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much Kathy! So glad that you love the card!! Hope that you had a good day too! πŸ™‚

  3. Love the card and the color combo! And laughing about the snow should just be in the mountains comment! I totally agree πŸ™‚

  4. Fabulous card, Justin! The colors are wonderful for this time of the year (even if you are not fond of this “white stuff”). The snowflake block die is the coolest thing ever and I love the effect it adds – at first, I thought you heat embossed vellum with white EP to create that effect. Hope the digging out of your car went well today – at least the sun softened it up a bit, hopefully!

    1. Thank you Christy! I do like that Snowflake Block Die and the colors are some of my favorites! Got the car out, but when it starts to melt it gets heavier! πŸ™‚

  5. I am such a huge X-files fan, fell asleep last night but watched it after work today and ready for the 2nd episode. Stay warm and crafty!

  6. OMG, you make me chuckle. Growing up in chicago i know too well what it feels like to shovel out and the plows bury you again. This card is beautiful, love the subtle colors. i thnk I need those grey sequins, LOL

    1. It’s always a good day when I get to make you laugh Linda! The plows are annoying! Thank you! I don’t think they have the great sequins anymore, sorry! πŸ™‚
