Yay for the weekend! Boo for the freezing cold! We are supposed to get down to -20 with the wind chill later on today, that is just silly! I will be crafty inside the house for the day thanks! I did have a nice full day yesterday! I stopped by Scrap-A-Latte in the morning to see Renee and get the supplies for this month’s Card Class. From there I headed out to MacArthur to pick up Sandy. We stopped at Panera and had lunch before I dropped her off at the rental car place, her car is being fixed at the moment. I came back home and checked on Winston, he’s not feeling well, he didn’t even eat breakfast. Poor guy. Taylor and Keira stopped by and gave him some love while I worked on some crafty things. I went out to dinner with Anthony and Bill so I took Winston over to my Parent’s so he wouldn’t be alone. We went to Friday’s for an early Valentine’s dinner! LOL! It was fun as always. Before they dropped me off we stopped at Target and Starbucks. The rest of the night I sat with Winnie, I hope he feels better today.
The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
Very interesting sketch! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Dotted Next Level 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Crumb Cake for the background and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. Some Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly Craft Die. I smooshed it into my Versa-Mark Pad and covered it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder before heating it with my Heat Tool. I repeated the process twice to give it a little more shine. Two strips of paper from the American Crafts DIY Shop 6×6 Paper Pad are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the butterfly is adhered with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Little pieces of Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape hold that in place. I think that Dotted 3D Folder is really cool and the butterfly coated in the clear embossing powder is pretty neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for starting your weekend off with me! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Thank you so much Louise! 🙂
Fantastic card, Justin! Love the elegance of the butterfly and the vellum. They both complement the bold embossing folder that you used. Such a great take on the FMS sketch. I am working on my card for the sketch now – had to stop midway last night because the hubs wanted to go out to dinner (he didn’t feel like cooking). So I’ll finish it up this AM and link up.
Hope Winston is feeling better and is back to himself soon!
Thanks Christy! I love that butterfly die and the embossing folder is so cool! Stopping to be taken out to dinner is a great reason to put it on hold! Hope that you had a good time!
Winston is better this morning! Thanks for checking! 🙂
Hi Justin,
Beautiful take on this sketch! Love the simplicity of the butterfly and the neutral colors.
Stay warm today. Hope Winston feels better soon.
Hello Gerri!
Thank you! I really love that butterfly!
Saying inside and Winston is better! Thanks for asking! 🙂
Love that shiny butterfly and your take on the sketch. It’s a winner for sure! I like those 3D embossing folders and this is a good use of one. Hope Winston feels better soon.
Thanks so much Susan! The 3D Folders are great! Winston is better, thanks! 🙂
Good morning, Justin! I love your card today. I can make it with all SU stuff and it looks so simple and easy to do.
I hope Winston is okay. Does your vet have Saturday hours? Please get him checked. You never know what is going on with dogs. Here’s a hug for Winston from my baby Pi. Here’s one for you too. OO Nancy B
Hello Nancy! Thank you! Yes, you could definitely use all Stampin’ Up! and it was easy!
Winston is much better! He was just having an off day. Thanks for the hugs and give one to Pi and you too! XOXO 🙂
OH my Justin – this card is out of the ball park beautiful! That butterfly is simply amazing and aren’t those 3D embossing folders just fabulous! With you having a full day of crafting I can only imagine what gorgeous creations we will be seeing this week! If I were a teacher grading you I’d have to give you an A+++++ for this one.
Poor Winston. I agree with Nancy about getting him to the Vet. How old is Winston? I often wish pets could speak so that we would know when something is wrong and they could tell us what is going on so that we know what to do to help them.
It’s really cold here today also but Thursday it’s supposed to be 40! This weather is just plain crazy. My goal for today is to clean the refrigerator, clean the lights in the kitchen (no easy task when your ceilings are open to the peak of the house and to get the tag sewn on to the quilt I just finished for my great nephew who is autistic. Then tonight the Sprint Cup “Unlimited” race is on. This is a precursor to the Daytona 500. Yeah, I get to feed my passion for racing once again. LOL You have yourself a super productive Saturday and enjoy your crafting time. Love and hugs, XXOO 🙂
Thank you very much Grace! I do like the butterfly and the embossing folder is so cool! I did make lots of stuff and will continue today! Too cold to go out! LOL!
Winston is back to his old self again, just had a bad day. He is 14, an old man! I wish that he could tell me what’s wrong too, I also wish that he would stop eating paper towels!
We are supposed to get a little warmer later in the week but today it is frigid! I hope that you got your cleaning done and your quilt finished and that you enjoyed your race! Have a great day! XOXOXO 🙂
I love how detailed and delicate that butterfly is! And I love how you’ve used it with the sketch. Stay warm today, my friend!
Thank you Amy! It’s a great die! Staying warm inside!! 🙂
Another beautiful card, Justin. I love the shiny butterfly, the DSP and the sentiment. Great take on the sketch. Stay warm and hope Winston feels better soon. Maybe he’s tired of winter!!
Thank you HJ! Staying as warm as I can and Winston and is much better! He’s tired of Winter and so am I! 🙂
WOW, Love this! i just ordered that embossing folder, the 3 D foldes are such fun to wok with. That butterfly die is on my list, gorgeous
Flippin frigid here, I made it to health club, grocey store and now I will hibernate. Snow coming tomorrow, spring cant get here quick enough
Thank you so much Linda! The Embossing Folder is great and the butterfly is one of the best ones! Yup, frigid here too! I’m hibernating! Let’s will Spring here sooner! 🙂
Wow! Another card that’s leaving me breathless! The delicate butterfly with the music paper is stunning alone, but the vellum stentiment and bold embossing make this an over-the-top gorgeous card. Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thank you very much Cindy! I hope that you have a great week! 🙂
Truly stunning! LOVE your look with the subtle patterns behind the open butterfly. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches. (Old age in pets is such a struggle – I have an old man too but as long as he looks at me and “smiles”, I know we are OK.)
Thank you Kim! Love that embossing folder! Yes, as long my little guy is running around all is good! 🙂
