Mojo Monday 433

And we’re offΒ to the start of another week and a new month! I had a very productive day yesterday! I helped my dad do the brakes on his truck in the morning and also got through my mountain of laundry. I also straightened up around the house and got a few crafty things done. Today I have some more organizing to do and I also have to make a plan as to what I’m going to with life in general! Pretty broad description but it needs to be done. I have a few airport runs to make this week dropping people off as they head off on vacation. I’m thinking that one day they will be nice enough to have me tag along! LOL!

The start of the week means another fun sketch from Mojo Monday

Mojo433

This card all began with the thought that I wanted to use a specific patterned paper! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Blushing Bride for the background. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Basic Gray adhered with more SNAIL. My square is a piece of Black 110lb that is also cut out with the Stitched Squares and is adhered with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flowers are fromΒ the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my MISTI to stamp them in Simon Says Stamp Rosy Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Slate Ink with the leaves stamped in Khaki and Slate. They are cut out with my Paper Snips. I placed them where I wanted and used a piece of Glad Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some SNAIL and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are all adhered in place and the Press ‘n Seal is removed. Makes it a lot easier than trying to remember exactly where you had them! Thanks Jennifer McGuire for the tip! My greeting is cut from more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it in place! I love the texture that the Woven 3D Embossing Folder gives the card and the layered flowers go so well with the patterned paper! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to share your creation with us! Thanks for starting another week off with me! It’s always great to see you here! Have a magnificent Monday! πŸ™‚

  1. I love that deep texture from the embossing folder, sets the stage for a gorgeous card! You are so creative!
I do have a question–do the fronts of your cards get heavy? I felt mine was off-balance when I tried using 110 lb paper for layers, and you have 6 or more layers on this one, several using 110 lb paper. Thanks.

    1. Thank you so much Susan! I love those 3D Folders, they are so neat!
I like the 110lb card sock and I find that as long as I use it for the base the card is usually fine! πŸ™‚

  2. Your card is very pretty. I love the embossing folder and the flower that definitely brings out the DSP flowers. Thanks for the very helpful tip on using Press n Seal. I must have missed Jennifer’s post on that. Have a great day.

    1. Thanks so much HJ! The EF is so cool and I love that the flowers coordinate with the paper! The Press ‘n Seal was a great tip, love it! πŸ™‚

  3. Good Morning Justin:

Of all the EF’s I have, this one is my favorite. The depth of the embossed area is just magnificent and you have definitely shown that with this card. I haven’t used square dies on an A2 size card because I never thought it would work but you have shown me differently today. I need to think more outside the box for sure. This card is gorgeous.

Today will be busy for me and the hubs. We need to register his truck then travel to Sam’s Club to shop, gas up my car and then stop at the regular grocery store. I screwed up my back yesterday so everything is going to take twice as long as usual which annoys me. I like to get the “have to’s” out of the way so I can work on the “want to’s” – LOL You have yourself a Marvelous Monday my friend. Love and hugs, XXOO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Yes, that EF is so neat! I love the Square Dies and they do make for a nice change on a standard card! Thank you!
Oh, I’m sorry that you hurt your back! That’s definitely no fun! I hope that you got all of your errands done and then got a chance to rest. The have to’s are always annoying! I hope that you feel better! Love and hugs! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Justin! I do love that embossing folder! I have a card base with it sitting on my desk waiting for inspiration to hit me. Your card is so pretty with the papers and textures. It is amazing how ordinary household items can be used to help us craft our cards (dryer sheets come to mind). Thanks for the Press ‘n’ Seal tip.
Yes, dear, even after retirement the quandary of what to do with life still comes up! I know you will figure this out, and we are all here for you to bounce ideas off. Lucky for you, you also have a wonderful family support system, something to always treasure. Keep carding! Love and hugs, Nancy B

    1. Hello Nancy!
Thank you very much! Yes, that EF is great! And the Press ‘n Seal is a really good tool!
LOL! Unfortunately I’m not retired! I wish I was! I’m glad that I have all of you to help out! Just have to find out what to do next! It will come to me, hopefully soon! Love and hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  5. Love the layering of this card, the colors, and that embossing folder is a fave of mine. I’m sure you will come up with a plan for life in general. You have an “opportunity” here to develop a plan. Above all, remember how important it is to do what you love to do.

    1. Thank you Carol! Yes, the Ef is great! I need to focus a bit more on my plan! It’s a shame that money plays such an important part in decision making! I am doing what I love to do and you are right about how important it is! Have a great day! πŸ™‚

  6. WOW, breathtaking!!! Love that EF, one of my favorites. I am such a fan of Atnew, i love most of their stamps. The slate ink is the perfect touch.

I hate having to grow up and figure out a life plan, to be independently wealthy and just volunteer. Oh well reality, I’m sure you will do what you love, you have so many talents

    1. Thanks Linda!! The EF is one of my faves too! Altenew has some really great stamps and they have some really cool accessories now too!
I want the same life plan as you! LOL! Thanks, I’m sure that I will figure it out! πŸ™‚

  7. GREAT card Justin!!! I LOVE that embossing folder – first time I’ve seen it. Might have to (gasp!) get it even if it isn’t by SU! Like the belly band you made with the pretty flower too. Justin – this is one of your best!!!
    Hugs, Nola

    1. Thank you Nola! Yes, the EF is super! LOL! It’s not a bad thing to expand our crafty horizons! Hugs to you! πŸ™‚

  8. Hi, I love this card. I just tried to send you a request for info on the “Lovely as a Tree” thinlets I saw on one of your blogs. I received a message that “i sent this already” so don’t know if the message went through or I typed something wrong. I enjoy all you cards and try to check them out every day. Thank you for all your ideas.
