Ahh… the first real weekend I have had in a long time! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was nice yesterday! We had some peeps stop by including my friends Sandy and Louis! I played around with stamps and got a few more projects finished. The ride home was fabulous and yes, it was topless! LOL! I had dinner with my Parent’s and then headed over to Heather’s sister’s block party. We had a great time, I got to hang with George and we had a good laugh! This morning I’m off to the Apple Store with Heather and then I want to try and run into Manhattan for a bit, we’ll see how that goes! I’m trying to cram too much into my two days off!
My card that I have to share with you today is my third sneak peek of the July My Monthly Hero Kit! I made what is essentially a one layer card! To begin I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. Next up I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the super detailed Octopus from the Add-On Set. The first layer is stamped in Hero Arts Soft Granite and the second layer in Charcoal. I used my Heat Tool to make sure that he was nice and dry and then brushed him over with my Powder Tool before stamping the first layer of the stamp again over the top with Versa-Mark, adding Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and heat setting it. My coral along the bottom is from the same Add-On Set and is stamped in Red Royal and Orange Soda. The greeting is then stamped in Red Royal and I adhered the finished panel to a Solar White 110lb Card Base. So technically it is a single layer card! I think that the detail in that Octopus is so life like that if you look quickly at the card you may mistake it for a picture! So amazing what you can do with a little ink and some stamps! I hope that you enjoyed my third sneak peek of the July My Monthly Hero Kit, I know that I’m having fun sharing them! Remember, you can purchase the Kit staring on July 5th at 1:00PM EST directly from Hero Arts! Thanks for coming by and I’ll have another look at some more of the Kit tomorrow! Have a stupendous Sunday! 🙂

Wow!! What a stunner of a card, Justin!! Your card has so much dimension and depth for a OLC! I love the colors you used for the corals.
Sounds like an ambitious day, but fun, day ahead!! We are off to see my husband’s family 100 miles away as we are all meeting up for Greek food – YUM!!!
Thank you Christy! I love that Octopus, he really does have a lot of dimension! It needed a little pop of color and the coral was the perfect place of it!
I always have ambitious days, whether or not it all gets done is another story! I love Greek food! Hope you had fun! 🙂
this is hot… loves it and all it’s fabulous goodness! 🙂
Thank you so much Eva! 🙂
Hi Justin,
These sentiments are fabulous!! Love this card! The Octopus is great… on the move. Love it!
Hello Gerri!
Thank you! Yes, the sentiments in the Kit are pretty neat! The Octopus is my fave for sure! 🙂
Good Morning Justin:
You are so right! The card did look like a picture! The coral is fabulous and that little sucker (oops!), I mean that little octopus is absolutely sweet. Who the heck ever thought I would think an octopus was cute? Not me for sure. I have to admit, your cards from this kit have been fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing all your talents with us every day. I doubt you realize how much we enjoy seeing your work every day.
I’m so jealous – what a gorgeous day to spend in Manhattan although I bet it’s packed with tourists there to see the fireworks by the Statue of Liberty. It won’t be as crowded though if you just stay in the Village. Have yourself a fantastic time then share it with us. Happy 4th of July to everyone! Thank a military person for the freedom we have to enjoy it. Love and hugs to you my friend. XXOO 🙂
Hi Grace!
Thanks! Yes, the stamp has so much detail in it it’s a little scary but he is definitely cute scurry along the ocean! The Kit is great and I’m so happy that I got participate in the lead up and finally the Blog Hop!
Manhattan was actually pretty empty on Sunday as I thought it would be! Monday would have been a bad day to go in! I hope that you enjoyed your 4th! Love and hugs my friend! XOXO 🙂
might have to get this kit, loving all three of the sneak peeks. You are such an enabler!!
LOL! Who me Lynn?!?! Never! LOL! It really is a great kit! Thanks! Glad that you enjoyed the peeks! 🙂
Love it, such depth for a onle layer. I player with the Hero Arts Flamingo yesterday. Love it. so many color possibilities. I have more flamingos then Iknow what to do with, LOL.
Enjoy your two days off, they will fly by…
Thank you Linda! I was really happy with the card! I love the Flamingo! There are a ton of color possibilities! Ha! I sometimes do that, just start stamping and end up with way too many but ti’s so addicting! I loved my days off and got a lot done! 🙂
Great card, Justin. Such a beautiful background and that octopus is adorable. I love the greetings in this set. I agree with Linda, your two days will fly by. If anyone can cram 60 hours of fun into 48 it would be you, my friend. I join Grace in wishing everyone a Happy 4th. I love what she said about thanking a military person for the freedom we have to enjoy. Beautifully said, Grace. Enjoy!
Thank you HJ! I love that little Octopus and yes, the greetings are fantastic! The two days did fly by, but then I was a lot busier than I thought I would be! Shocker! I hope you had a good 4th! Yes, we need to remember that it’s more than fireworks! 🙂
Fab card, the coral is so pretty.
How do you make time when you are so busy?
Thank you very much Anna! It’s not easy fitting everything in! But you know that! LOL! 🙂
