What day are we up to? Oh yes… FRIDAY! Such a busy week at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I still haven’t gotten all of the Pretty Pink Posh Sequins into the system and Lawn Fawn remains just as popular as ever! Need to finish up today! I did have a very nice evening. I stopped by Heather’s and picked her up on my way home from work. We stopped at my house to drop off my bags and then ran to BJ’s. From there it was back to Heather’s to have a nice big salad for dinner. Around 8:30 Stephanie came over and we sat outside and had some wine and laughed and just relaxed. Oh how I love Thirsty Thursday! This morning I have a haircut and then it’s off to the store for another fun filled day! I hope that I can get all of my projects finished!
I did manage to make a card yesterday for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…
My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Kraft to the center and then took a piece of Ivory 110lb and coated it with Versa-Mark and Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder. After a little quality time with the Heat Tool it was all melted and pretty ready to be adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up I cut out a piece of Vellum with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. My feathers are from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Sapphire Crisp Ink and added the vein and tips with more Brass Embossing Powder. They are cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the oval with E-Z Runner with more hidden on the back to adhere it to the card. Finally I stamped my greeting from the same set in more Sapphire Crisp Ink and the card is done! I really do like that Give Thanks Set, you can do so many different things with the images in it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a little of your Friday with me! Have an super terrific day! 🙂

Love your card, couldn’t see it on the other post, just the sketch, so I came here. Love how you made the feathers. Have a good Friday, it’s going to be terribly humid here today.
Thank you Virginia! Hmm… I’ll have to go and see what happened with that! You have a great Friday! Stay cool! 🙂
Justin,
WOW!! Beautiful card! Love the embossed feathers – so different. Love it!!
Thank you so much Gerri! Hope that you have a great weekend! 🙂
Great card for this challenge. I love the feathers and we all know they are your favorites. At first glance at the card, I thought the feathers were inlaid in the vellum. Your fussy cutting is awesome. Glad you got to enjoy Thirsty Thursday. Have a great Friday.
Thank you HJ! Yes, I am very fond of feathers! I like theses ones, they are a a little different! I do like a little fussy cutting! I hope that you had a fantastic Friday and that your weekend is off to a good start! 🙂
Hi Justin:
Such a chic and modern card for today! And again, your use of vellum is so beautiful. That was quite a bit of embossing you did and you certainly must have had some patience to get the entire 110 lb. paper totally embossed. Great job.
Hot and sticky here today. I’m sure my company will enjoy the A/C. Don’t really need it for the temperature yet but boy, it sure was muggy when we got up. So glad you had a nice thirsty Thursday get together. To me that is the best – just sitting around laughing and not actually “doing” anything at all. Have yourself a Fabulous Friday and I hope you get all your projects finished! Love and hugs to you my friend – XXOO 🙂
Hello Grace!
Thank you! I keep using Vellum to remind you to use it! LOL! I wanted the paper to match the feathers and I thought that embossing it was the best way to accomplish that!
It was hot here yesterday, love it! I have the AC on just to make sure that my crafty supplies don’t get affected by the humidity! I do enjoy Thirsty Thursdays! It really is fun to just sit around and talk, we always have something new to say too! I did get all of my stuff done! YAY! Hope that you enjoyed your company! XOXO 🙂
Yeow! So modern…..so elegant…..so gorgeous! Love those fathers on vellum and the embossing is terrific! Glad you shared it at FMS!
Thank you very much Linda! The feathers are nice and different! So happy that you enjoyed the card! Have a great weekend! 🙂

Oh my gosh, Justin! You’ve turned my simple sketch into a masterpiece. This is so beautiful. It just doesn’t get better than this. I love the colors, layers and the smart way to use and adhere the vellum. The way you did the feathers looks so crisp and striking against your clean background. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thank you very much Cindy! Your sketch was a masterpiece all on it’s own! Love the inspiration I get from playing along with you guys! Hope you have a wonderful week! 🙂
