I’m happy to report that Small Business Saturday was a success at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee had her Holiday Extravaganza which was fun. Her Son Nicholas and his friend Ben were there to help. Taylor came by in the afternoon and so did my friend Melissa so all in all it was a greatΒ day. After work I stopped at my house to drop off my stuff and then met Heather over at Geroge’s. She made me some rigatoni alla vodka for dinner and I had a piece of apple pie for dessert! After my pleasant culinary experience we headed out to see Patti and Tom and the kids again. We listened to music and danced and sang! So much fun! Today I’m not feeling great so I’m going to stay home. I have some things that I can work on here and need to catch up on some stuff anyway.
I couldn’t wait to play with the new Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set from Concord & 9th and I actually made this card a few weeks ago! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black. I stamped the large floral image from the Hello Lovely Set in Altenew Jet Black Ink with my Mini MISTI, just in case I didn’t get a perfect impression. While I had the stamp in there I stamped it again so I could show the difference between it being colored in and stamped with the filler images. The card is the one that I colored in with my Prismacolor Pencils. I adhered it to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For the greeting I die cut another piece of black using the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies and adhered it to the card in the lower right with Multi-Matte Medium. Just for a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. I’m really happy with the way that the colored pencils worked with the image. I did stamp one with some Altenew Crisp Inks using the filler images just so you could see what that looks like too! I hope that you like today’s card and let me know which one you prefer! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a subtle Sunday! π

You’re a good colorer–but I adore the stamped image. There’s a watercolor wash feeling to it that works so well with the ink spattering on the stamp. What’s the diff? To me, the card has had her hair done and the bottom image just rolled out of bed. π
Thank you Ann! A lot of people that I showed both to at the store preferred the stamped one too! LOL! That’s a great way to describe the two!! Awesome! π
I like the top pink one. I just think it is richer in color. Sometimes I don’t like the watercolor to much. Depends on the image. But all your cards are great.
Thank you Virginia! I too like the top one. I just can’t get into the messy watercolor look. I have been trying! π
I love both versions! That is a really pretty stamp.
Thanks Carol! I like that you can get two completely different looks and neither one looks too bad! π
The bottom one is much softer and as someone said looks like water color. Maybe if you put it on a black piece of card you would like it more. Sometimes I don’t like the card front I’ve made until I add something behind it. That seems to pop it out. All your cards are beautiful though!
I think that you may be right Sherley! Although, I think I like the top one because I had so much fun coloring it! Thank you so much! π
Hi Justin,
Have to say that I like the top one better although I would not have the patience to do all that coloring. It seems colored pencils are popular again. In any case, both cards are beautiful. Feel better!
Hello Gerri!
Yay! I like the top one better too! The best thing is that the bottom one is just stamped and looks like you took a long time to watercolor it! Thank you so much! π
hmmmm – top one or bottom one? I had to really look at both for a while. I like the top one because it’s so clean, clear and crisp. On the other hand, I like the bottom one because it has such a casual look. So, my choice is based solely on the fact that I don’t like to color – I choose the bottom one. No, no wait – I choose the top one. No the bottom one, No the top one. Grrrrr, I need more time.
Ha ha ha! I love your indecision! After you have had more time you’ll have to let me know which one you really like! π
Both cards are very nice, but I love the colored one. As you say about “messy” watercoloring, I’m just not into it. That is a beautiful stamp I have added to my wish list. With so many companies coming out with wonderful new designs, my list is getting long. So many great choices and no money tree in the backyard!! LOL. Hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your down time. Sending healing hugs!
Thank you HJ! Yes, I like the colored one more too! Yay! I love the stamp, I like that it is a whole card front too! I really do love Concord & 9th, they have a really nice variety and Greg and Angie are both really nice people! Thanks for the well wishes, I’m much better! π
Love this stamp set! I am going against the popular vote here, I really like both. I love the rich depth of your coloring, but I aso like the washed out watercolor look. Iam a watercolor person.
Just finished some online shopping. So I did make a dent in my Christmas list, and I was good, only a candle warmer for myself. LOL
Yesterday I finally cleaned my craft room. took forever, I actualy organized stamps and finally got things put away vs my piles. Now to start using some of my new things. And i only found one duplicate item. I cringe when I find duplicates, so one is not too bad. I need a way to indicate items which I already have.
i’m glad you had a successful weekend at your store. Hope you are feeling better, take care!
My Prismacolored pencils just arrived…time to play
Thank you Linda! The messy watercolor look is really popular and I like that you can do it with the stamps! But I like the colored pencils!
Only a candle warmer?! Wow! That was really good, lots of self control!
I need to find an App that lets me catalog all of my crafty supplies! I went through my ink pads yesterday and I had three duplicates! Now they are sorted by color so maybe that won’t happen again!
I’m much better thanks! Have fun with your pencils! I love mine! π
Top one because I love bold colors and the top seemed finished and lovelier. I like the way the black background sets off the colors. Hope you feel better today. It sounds like your small business did very well Saturday since you seemed to need a lot of help! Terrific! Hugs, Nancy B
Woo hoo! That’s my fave too Nancy! The store can always do better, and I hope that it does! I love being here and getting to talk to people about craftiness! Hugs to you! π
