Well, it rained here all day yesterday. Drizzled then poured. Since we are undergoing all of the construction at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store there have been leaks in the roof, I’m talking fill up a huge garbage pail in 4 hours! We had three going today, I emptied them before I left and I hope that it’s not so full that I’m able to empty it tomorrow! Renee had to run to DMV in the morning and then she stopped by the store to get a few things and then headed home to catch up on laundry and cleaning. It was a good day to be doing things inside! I worked on some projects and watched some YouTube videos. I need to clean and seal my convertible roof so it was a little damp in the car as I made my way home. I had dinner with my Parents and then came to my house and finished my card for today. It’s supposed to rain again today, hopefully not all day again! ๐
If it’s Wednesday then I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s color challenge…
I combined a bunch of sets to create my card for today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Myย background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and I used aย Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to create my sky. Next up is a piece of Kraft that I cut out with the Hero Arts Skyline Fancy Die. Along the bottom is a piece of Black and a piece of Smoky Slate. I used a Uniball Signo White Gel Pen to add the lines in the road before adhering it to the card with E-Z Runner. The trees are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped them in Forever Green and then cut the out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them to the card with more E-Z Runner. The fire hydrant and taxi are from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Hero Arts Black and colored in with Copics. I used my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with Thin 3D Foam Squares. Finally my greeting is from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in the upper left with Red Royal. You know how much I love that Skyline Die and the City Adventure Set, I had to use them to make a Holiday card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! We hope to see your card in the gallery so head on over to the BLOG to get some inspiration from the rest of the Team! Thanks so much for your visit today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! ๐

WOW, WOW, WOW Justin! This card is like looking at the city skyline from the other side of Central Park. This is the absolute coolest card I have seen and it doesn’t even have any glitz or glitter. I love, love, love it. How the heck do you come up with this stuff? Plus your hand cutting of the taxi and hydrant is so perfect it looks like they were die cut. WOW! I’m liking it so much that I’ve now run out of ways to tell you how much I like it. AND THAT for me is almost totally unheard of! LOL
Sorry to hear about your leak. Did you guys talk to the building owner about it? When our local supermarket was undergoing remodeling there were a bunch of leaks in the ceiling. It drove those poor employees just about nuts. They were very worried about a customer stepping on a wet spot on the floor and slipping and getting injured. Thankfully it only took about 2 weeks to get those leaks taken care of.
We also had a lot of rain yesterday and are due for more this afternoon and tomorrow. I’m happy to have it as we were under severe drought conditions at this time last month. We all have wells in this area so that is a pretty big concern for most on our road. Fortunately our well is very deep so we don’t worry too much but still conserve. You should be happy that it’s rain and not the “S” word. LOL You have yourself a Wonderful Wednesday my friend. Love and Hugs to yoy – XXOO ๐
Yes Grace!! That’s exactly what I was thinking when I made the card! I toyed with the idea of adding sequins but like you said it didn’t need anything else! I’m really happy that you like the card!! I was really happy when i got it finished! I did most of it at the store but forgot the Skyline Die at home so I finished it last night!
The leak is really annoying. We have had to move stuff all over and the contractor won’t answer his phone! He was supposed to stop by and do something yesterday and never did! So annoying!
It’s pouring here again, roof leaking again! I guess we need the rain, just wish it wasn’t inside! Let’s not even talk about the S word! Love and hug to you!! XOXO ๐
Justin,
I agree with Grace. This card is awesome!! I always love your skyline cards but creating the rest of the scene was brilliant. Just love it!!
Hi Gerri!
Thank you! I really do enjoy using those dies, must be my love of Manhattan! ๐
I LOVE this card and told you all of the reasons why on Instagram! Maybe I should save those comments for here! Lol!
We’ve been spoiled with the weather this year. And since I work from home, I often don’t have to bear the brunt of it. But wouldn’t you know I had to go out yesterday and got soaked just crossing the parking lot! Hope that leak gets fixed soon and hope there wasn’t any damage. Do the other tenants have the same issue or is it just your store?
Yes!! Thank you very much Linda!! I see them both places so it’s all good! So glad that you enjoyed the card!!
We have been lucky with the weather but I would like that luck to continue! LOL! I would like to work from home sometimes, not that I have a bad ride or a bad place to go but it would be nice! As far as the water goes I think we are the only ones with the issue now. Fun huh?! I hope that you have a good day and stay dry! ๐
Ditto Grace’s comments!!! Hope you dry out soon! Hugs and towels, Nancy B
Thank you Nancy! I hope that they do something about this soon! Paper and water don’t mix well together! Hugs to you! ๐
Fantastic! I feel like I’m driving on lake Shore drive going past Grant Park. Add a few more taxis and its rush hour!
I hope your leaks stop, protect that gorgeous merchandise that you sell. I cant deny it any longer, winter is here. SOB!
Ahh… I like that it works for Chicago too! I prefer it with just one Taxi! LOL!
The leak finally stopped after about 3 garbage cans full! It’s getting to be Winter here too! Not ready, never will be! ๐
