Brrrr! It’s still cold here! The good news, it’s supposed to go up into the 40’s for the first day of Winter! I’m happy report that I got a lot done at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, not everything that I wanted to but other things came up and needed to be taken care of. Isn’t that always how the day goes?! I had another person make my Holiday Ornament yesterday… Renee’s boyfriend John sat and made one and he did a great job! Angie is on vacation from her day job so she has been at the store, we have had a lot of laughs! After work I had dinner with my Parent’s. They took Winston for a haircut yesterday and he looks all snazzy just in time for Christmas. I had a few errands to run and then I relaxed for a bit. Today I will tackling some more things on my to-do list and then we are having an early edition of Thirsty Thursday tonight! 😀
One of the things that I worked on yesterday was my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…
I had the urge to use my Prismacolor Pencils again so I pulled out one of my favorite images to color! That image is from the Concord & 9th Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it a few times in Hero Arts Intense Black using my Mini MISTI onto a piece of Kraft and then went to work coloring. When I had finished I went back in with my black pencil and darkened in some of the lines and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped the same way. For the background I used another image from the set and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Bronze Embossing Powder. For the card base I used my usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Black. The background is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I did the same to adhere the cake and greeting. I really am enjoying my colored pencils and am especially happy with the way the flower centers turned out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Paper Craft Crew challenge of 2016! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Oh my Justin – that cake actually does look good enough to eat! You did do a fantastic job with the colored pencils and yes, I agree, the centers of the flowers came out beautifully. I love purples and lilacs. Also, the background you created with the “star”/Sparkler? stamp really was the artistic touch that made the difference between a terrific card and a really, really great card. Wonderful job my friend!
Today will be fairly quiet but tomorrow will be busy as we begin to prepare for our trip to visit our kids for the Christmas holiday. Fortunately I’ve found a new wonderful Hilton hotel to stay at. The hotel we have used for the past 15 years has gone so far down hill that I refuse to stay there again……so, this should be an adventure for sure. Wishing you a Wonderful Wednesday. Love & Hugs, XXOO 🙂
LOL! Thank you Grace! I really do like to just sit and color, it’s nice and relaxing! I have been really into purples lately!
I hope that you have very safe travels and am glad to hear that you have found a really nice place to stay. That’s very important! Hope your week is going well! Love and hugs to you! XOXO 🙂
very elegant!
Thank you Linda! 🙂
