    Simple Love – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

    Hello again!! I’m about to go outside and see if can dig out my car and get the heck out of this house!! I have a touch of cabin fever from being home all day yesterday! It’s time for my January Solo Post here on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! The next big card making holiday coming up is Valentine’s Day so I figured that I would get a jump on making some cards for it! I’m really loving the Concord & 9th Love You So Stamp Set, perfect for just such cards!

    For my card base I trimmed a piece of Gray Card Stock to 11″ x 3 5/8″ and folded it so it was 5 1/2″ tall. Using my MISTI I stamped the LOVE from the Love You So Photopolymer Stamp Set in Wet Cement down the left side. For my greeting and hearts I used the Love Always Frame Dies to cut out some Classic Cherry and Solar White 110lb. They are adhered to the card base with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A nice simple card with some stamping and a few die cuts!

    A whole day stuck in the house is definitely not for me! When the snow finally stopped around 6:00PM the final total was around 10 inches! But that wasn’t the end of it, the wind is terrible still so it’s blowing all over the place. Have I mentioned how much I dislike the Winter! LOL! I did manage to get some things accomplished and even got some crafty time in! This morning I will be digging my car out and going somewhere… anywhere! 😀

    It’s time for the first Fab Friday challenge of 2018…

    A super quick card using minimal supplies! Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the congrats from the Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut in Crimson Hybrid Ink. The sequins are from the same set and stamped in Crimson Hybrid, Lemon Yellow and Emerald Green. I added some Clear Sparkle Pen over all of the sequins for a little shine and done! I have said it before, I love to just stamp a card, nothing else! I hope that you like my Design Team car for the Fab Friday Color Challenge!     Good afternoon from the frozen tundra! We are having a big snowstorm today, it’s windy with blizzard conditions… and yes… I’m over it! LOL! Guess I’ll be finding things to do around the house! I had a quiet day yesterday, some errands and a little time with Taylor last night. Getting gas last night was a treat! People go into full blown panic mode, like we have never had snow before and this will be the last time that they can get gas for at least a month! Relax peeps, everything will be ok! If there is anyone out there with some really nice weather that they would like to send my way I would really appreciate it! 😀

    I was looking around this morning for a sketch and found that Freshly Made Sketches is still going on from before Christmas…

    I had the urge to color this morning so I took out the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set and my Prismacolor Pencils! The flowers are stamped in Hippo on a piece of 110lb Card Stock from the Storm Clouds Pack. I did a little no line coloring but kept it simple and bright. Onto a card base of another piece of 110lb Card Stock from the Storm Clouds Pack I stamped the Hello in Noble Fir. A strip of Amethyst Stardream metallic goes down the left and the floral panel is adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A simple but really fun card to make and that Hello Lovely floral is still one of my favorites! I hope that you like my little bit of craftiness for today! Thanks for visiting!     Did you know that I moved to Antarctica?! Me either but that’s exactly what it feels like here! I woke up to 12 degrees and it hasn’t been above 25 in over a week! Oh how I love the Winter… NOT! To make things even more fun we are to get some snow tomorrow. No thanks! I did have a productive day yesterday, I went over to Jim’s in the morning and we undecorated his house and had lunch. I was back home by 3:00 and took down Christmas at my place too. Today I have some laundry to do and cleaning, all things that can be done without going outside! LOL! 😀

    It’s Wednesday and time for a new challenge over on the Paper Craft Crew blog…

    I have had the Concord & 9th Dahlia Turnabout Stamp for a while and I finally inked it up to make today’s card! Using My MISTI and some Minty Fresh, Merman, Peacock and Hippo Ink to stamp it onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The greeting is from the same set, I stamped it in Black Licorice and then offset it and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. The panel is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For a little sparkle, some Pretty Pink Posh Platinum Sequins and a few Basic Jewels Rhinestones are added to the centers of the larger ones! A nice simple card to let someone know that you think they are amazing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge!     Hey there, remember me?! I have been MIA for a little bit over the Holidays. I just lost my Mojo and didn’t make a card for about two weeks!! That’s the longest I think I have ever gone. Plus I think that I just needed a break after five years of almost daily posts. Hopefully I will get back into the swing of things! Oh, Happy New Year!! Can’t believe that 2017 is done! I did have a good year and a wonderful time over the Holidays! I hope that all of you are doing great and that your year is off to a great start! 😀

    It’s Tuesday and time for the first Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge of 2018…

    I used a new to me stamp set that I have wanted for a while, it was a little prezzie from Jim! To start I heat embossed that gorgeous leaf from the Neat & Tangled Oak Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. I colored it in using a Light Green Zig Clean Color Brush Pen and a Waterbrush. It’s cut out with the Coordinating Die. Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wave 3D Embossing Folder. My greeting is from the same set and is also heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold onto a strip of Solar White 80lb. I added the leaf and greeting with 3M Foam Tape and a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card. I do love that leaf especially watercolored!     United We Flourish – Ellen Hutson with Concord & 9th!

    Hello! I’m honored today to be a part of the United We Flourish Release Blog Hop from Ellen Hutson in collaboration with Concord & 9th! These stamps and dies are designed by Concord & 9th and are available exclusively from Ellen Hutson! The set is called Sweet Sprinkles and is a fantastic set for making cards for all sorts cards for different occasions! I paired the set with another great one from Concord & 9th, the Sprinkles Turnabout.

    I started my card by stamping the Sprinkles Turnabout Stamp in Doe Ink using my MISTI onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I only stamped it for two turns. Next I stamped the ice cream cone in Doe and the ice cream in Minty Fresh with the oh so sweet stamped in Doe inside the ice cream scoop. They are from the Sweet Sprinkles Set and are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. For the strip I stamped the smaller sprinkles, also from the Sweet Sprinkles Set in Minty Fresh. I wanted a strip to go behind it that matched my card perfectly so I swiped my Doe Ink Pad across another piece of Solar White 80lb. The background and two strips are adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used 3M Foam Tape to adhered my ice cream and added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to the ice cream for a little sparkle!     Yay for Friday! Most of the snow is still here because it was freezing yesterday. I ran over to see Heather in the morning, she went in late to work and had her work Holiday party last night so there was some outfit choosing to be done! When I got back home in the afternoon I did a few things around the house including a little laundry. Taylor stopped by after dinner and we ran some errands. I made marshmallow snowmen that will be added to eggnog martinis for the party on Saturday. Today I will be at Jim’s helping get the house ready for said party. A busy but fun day! 😀

    I have the pleasure of Guest Designing for Concord & 9th again this month! It’s Feature Friday and this week we are focusing on the Polkadot Turnabout Stamp!

    I have also used the Quilted Heart Die on my card which is a FREE gift with any $60 purchase from them this month! To create my background I heat embossed the Polkadot Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 43lb Vellum. I slightly offset the stamp in my MISTI so that the polkadots wouldn’t be perfectly lined up. My hearts are cut from Classic Cherry using the Quilted Heart Die and the greeting using the Kind Card Frame Add-On Die. I adhered the hearts to the background with E-Z Runner and the kind with Multi-Matte Medium. A little more E-Z Runner and Multi-Matte Medium behind the die cuts adheres the background to my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock.     Well, I woke up to 3 inches of snow this morning! No thanks! LOL! It was so windy and cold here yesterday too! Is it too early to start complaining that I can’t wait for Spring?! Despite the frigid day I still got a lot done. Last night we had an early Thirsty Thursday at my house, Heather was a little tipsy so I drove her home and then took her car over to her this morning. I’ll be running more errands and checking more things off my to-do list today! 😀

    I managed to get a card made this morning for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge…

    I wanted to use the December My Monthly Hero Kit again. First I used the Hero Arts City Skyline Fancy Die, an add-on, to cut out a piece of Gold Glitter Card. I adhered it to a piece of Black 110lb that I rounded the corners on with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. The moon and the starts are from the Stamp Set included and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a strip of the Gold Glitter Card and then adhered my panel with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is also from the Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Blue Jay. A few Black 3D Foam Squares hold it in place. The bottom looked a little plain so I added a few Nautical Sparkle and Brushed Gold Sequins along with some dots with my Gold Signo Gel Pen. Love that fun City Scape Die and the unusual greeting!     It has become seriously cold here! I woke up to 20 degrees this morning and lots of wind! Poor Cali was not happy on her walk this morning and neither was I! LOL! Yesterday I ran some errands then met up with Heather and Steph after dinner so that they could go and vote for Fire Commissioner. Heather and I stopped by to see Brian and Kim’s house, they are expanding it out to the side and up. It was pretty neat to see the construction, the shell went up really fast! When I got back home Taylor was here snuggling with Cali. Her and I ran a few more errands and then I called it a night. Not sure what I’m up to this morning but I know there will be some laundry in there somewhere! 😀

    I did a little FaceTime crafting with Andrea yesterday and made my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

    I started my card by reaching for the Hero Arts December My Monthly Hero Kit. The vase is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card, colored in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I used the lattice window die to cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card. For my background I spattered some Heidi Swapp Gold and Teal Color Shine onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The two strips of patterned paper are from the DCWV Mariposa 12×12 Paper Pad. I heat embossed my greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on the teal strip and flagged both ends of the butterfly strip before adhering them to the card. Some Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive hold the lattice window in place and a little 3M Foam Tape secures the vase. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Gold Sequins and the card is done! I love the December My Monthly Hero Kit, so many fun things to use in it!     I’m late this morning and I apologize! I woke up at 4:00AM with a insanely bad migraine, so bad I couldn’t even lie or sit down. Thankfully it’s a lot better now. Yesterday was fun with Daniel and Tristan, they are so good and easy to watch, plus it’s nice to get to spend the extra time with them! I went right over to Jim’s last night so we could fix the Christmas lights on the house and have dinner. He whipped up a meatloaf, sautéed string beans and sweet potato, all delicious as usual! Now that my head is feeling a little better I need to get my butt in gear! 😀

    My card has a ton of heat embossing on it, you know that’s one of my favorite things to do! The background is a piece of Chili Pepper Card Stock with the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Photopolymer Stamp heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. My postage stamp is from the Concord & 9th Love You So Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the dots in more Gold and the LOVE in Recollections Red Tinsel Embossing Powder. It’s cut out with the Coordinating Die. The background is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the postage stamp with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner.
