  • Pals Paper Arts 263 & Card Class Cards!

Another beautiful day here on Long Island and a happy Saturday to you! Yesterday after work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of card class with Michael. We had some Red Robin burgers for dinner with Nicholas, yum! LOL! The class was lots of fun as always, the Friday night crowd is a little rowdier than Thursday. Here is a picture of Melissa, Andrew and I…

    RC SAL Card Class Peeps

After class I came home and worked on my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael while he gives his baby book class and then we are off to Manhattan tonight to stay at Kim’s again. Tomorrow we will be working at The Ink Pad so come on by if you are in the area! Speaking of The Ink Pad, if you take a little detour and go over to see Jenny of at Craft Test Dummies she has a post and a video about her little visit to The Ink Pad and you can see what she picked up!

If you scroll down to the bottom you can see my two cards that I made for card class using Reverse Confetti. I’m loving that little bird on the birthday card!

No on to my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 263

I went with a nice simple card using one of my favorite sets from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set on a piece of Rich Razzleberry in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the strip across the lower half of the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzaz on Solar White 80lb. I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut it out and adhered it to the card with a strip of Foam Tape. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes off the card. I do love that butterfly and since it’s Photopolymer it’s nice and easy to stamp the three different colors. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to stop by and visit with me! Enjoy your Saturday my friends! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 199

Hi there and happy Friday to you! Yes, it was another nice day yesterday and work wasn’t too bad either! After work I stopped home for a bit and started my card for today before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of my joint card class with Michael. He brought his dad so we went and had dinner, some pizza, before class. It was nice to get to meet his dad Joel, I now know where Michael gets his sense of humor from! Class was fun as usual and everyone enjoyed the projects! I’ll have mine posted tomorrow! Tonight we have the second night and then Michael has another baby book class there tomorrow. Sunday we will be at The Ink Pad and staying at Kim’s Saturday night! I really don’t want the Summer to end!

The card that I have for you today is for Freshly Made Sketches 199th challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 199

I can’t believe that they will be at challenge 200 next week! That’s pretty cool! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the bird from the Tim Holtz Bird Feather Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink on the card. My pocket is made using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool and a Simon Says Stamp Stamp Pocket. I sealed a piece of Smoky Slate in the bottom and then cut out three feathers from Crumb Cake with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Dies. They are spattered with some Heidi Swapp Citron, Teal and White Color Shine Spray. I added them and a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the pouch and sealed the top. A piece of Red Line Tape (Sticky Strip) behind the strip of Smoky Slate adheres it to the card. The greeting is a piece of Solar White cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and some Pear Pizzaz with the rest of the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp You Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The left side is flagged and then I mounted it to the card with Foam Tape. I do love using the Fuse to make a shaker card, the goodies that you put inside move around really nicely and you can do some creative pockets too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for coming by to see what I’m up to! Have yourself an awesome Friday! 🙂

    OSAT Header

Hello everyone, happy Thursday to you! The weather here yesterday was again nice! Sunny and not too hot with a little shower in the evening. The shower did produce a double rainbow though!

    Double Rainbow

Pretty cool huh?! Last night I was at Scrap-A-Latte with Michael prepping for tonight and tomorrow night’s classes. After we had some Chili’s for dinner and watched some TV. Today I’m participating in the sixth blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Back to School! If you have arrived here from Eva Bussom’s blog, welcome! My friend Eva always has some great projects, doesn’t she?! I have one card for you today so let’s get to it!

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the entire front is covered in a piece of Crumb Cake. Next up is some Daffodil Delight and on top of that is a piece of Real Red that I embossed with the Lucky Starts Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. They are both adhered to the card at an angle with SNAIL. My library card and date stamp are from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The greeting is from the Lawn Fawn My Lucky Charm Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered the library card with SNAIL and Fun Foam and the date stamp with Foam Tape. A few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I like the simplicity of the card, it’s a fun way to wish any student a great year at school!

  • Paper Players 257 & More Manhattan!

Well, the week is moving right along, it’s Wednesday already! It rained here most of the day yesterday, quite heavily in the morning but the sun did finally make an appearance later in the day! Little Daniel was at my mum’s so I got to spend some time with him, he actually says Uncle Justin now! We played with some Lego blocks for a little while and then had dinner. It’s his mum Erika’s Birthday today, a very Happy Birthday Sis! After dinner I made a card and then Michael stopped by for a bit before going to meet his brother. I ran to Target and that was pretty much the day. I do have a few more pictures from this past weekend’s Manhattan adventure with Michael. More really cool street art!

    Little Italy Liberty

Now that’s a really cool Lady Liberty!

    Little Italy Ga Ga

    Just some mixed-media building art!

    Little Italy Ship

Now that is just really cool!!!! I would like that in my house!

    214 Lafayette St

This is on the door to 214 Lafayette Street. You can read more about it here!

Michael has done a few blog posts on our outing too and he has some really cool pictures of the Subway! Be sure and go over to his blog and take a look!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #257

For some reason when I saw this I thought Summer! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and across the bottom is some Old Olive that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. My kite is cut using the Simon Says Stamp Kite Shaker Die from a piece of Crumb Cake and a piece paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The sun is cut from Daffodil Delight using the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Creative Cuts Dies and also adhered with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Summer Die and some more Daffodil Delight for my greeting. I also cut out some Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the die cut to pop it up. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sun and greeting with a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is done! I love that kite especially with the DSP! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge and the rest of my Manhattan pics! Thank you for stopping by today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 9 – A Sketch!

Monday, glad that you are done! It wasn’t too bad of a day at work so no complaints. I came home, ate dinner and then retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to work on some projects! I needed to get a few cards made and I still have a few more to go before I get all caught up! I really do love to end the day with a little creativity! Now if I could just find a way to get to be creative all day! Any suggestions?! LOL! I have some more pictures to share with you today from my adventures with Michael over the weekend!

    Mini FlatIron

We just thought that this building was really cool! Love the pops of red!

    Chinatown Street Art 1

And this is what I mean by seeing the city in a while new way! I never noticed that on the building before!

    Chinatown Street Art 2

Michael has a great eye for street art! How cool is that?!

I’ll have some more pictures for you tomorrow! Now lets get to today’s post which is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time we have a sketch for you…

    SIP Sketch Challenge 9

I had fun putting together my card and I think that you could use it for a couple of different occasions! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a circle from a piece of Smoky Slate with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and then embossed it with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. It’s adhered to a piece of Basic Black with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The images are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink for the flowers and Catkin for the leaves. They are die cut using the matching 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Craft Dies and adhered in the negative circle with Glue Dots and Foam Tape. My greeting is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Wafer Thin Die and it’s adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A little Stardust Stickles is added to the centers of the flower and completes the card! I think that this would make a fun Wedding card but also be great just for any time you need a congratulations card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s card! We hope that you will enter one in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch! Thank you for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 410 & Manhattan!

Well, I had another absolutely amazing weekend! Yesterday Michael and I hit up a few street fairs and wandered around the city again. We took the subway down to Chambers Street and saw the new Dey Street passage and Fulton Street Center. Here are a few pictures…

    WFC Subway Station

The Dey Street Passage from Chambers Street Subway Station.

    WFC Subway Station Ceiling

The ceiling in the new Fulton Street Center.

    WFC Subway Station Mezzanine

The lobby in the new Fulton Street Center. All of this was heavily damaged from 9-11 so the rebuilt it. I think that they did a great job!

After that we walked up to Chinatown and Little Italy. It’s so nice going around Manhattan with Michael, he notices things that I never have before. We took a whole bunch of pictures that I will share over the next few days. It was like seeing the city for the first time all over again! I really did have the most amazing weekend! Thanks to Kim again for letting us stay in her place!

The best part of a Monday is definitely that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo410

I pondered this one for a little bit before I finally settled on a fun birthday card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam with SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card with SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Bermuda Bay with the right side flagged. All of my balloons are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The shaker is Basic Black with the middle and Window Sheet cut out with Sizzix Circles Framelits. Some Fun Foam is also cut out with them and the seed beads and sequins are placed inside with another piece of Window Sheet adhered to the back. Another balloon is cut out from Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest one from a piece of Real Red. The are adhered with Glue Dots, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. You know how I love a shaker card and that Embossing Folder is again, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Go and check out the blog for some more inspiration, we’d love to see your card in the gallery! Thank you once again for sharing in my days and I wish you a marvelous Monday! 🙂

It’s another beautiful day in Manhattan! Nice and sunny and not too hot. Yesterday I spent the day at The Ink Pad with Michael and Barbara. Towards the end of the day Kathy from The Daily Marker stopped in. She has another coloring challenge coming up in October and I’m going to do my best to participate in it! You can check out her blog HERE! After work Michael and I walked over to Trader Joe’s to pick up some stuff so he could make dinner. We got back to the apartment and had spinach tortellini with pesto and garlic bread with melted mozzarella cheese. It was yummy! Today we are going to head downtown and do a little more wandering! Her are some more pictures from our adventure the other evening.

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    Pals Paper Arts 262

This card started off with the need to use a bunch of die cuts! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Tip Top Taupe and is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I cut two circles out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die from Pool Party. The larger one is stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Pool Party. I tucked the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish Die cut from Gold Glimmer Paper behind the circle that is adhered with SNAIL to the card. My branch is cut from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Memory Box Branching Out Die and is adhered to the circle with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. The butterfly is cut from Mint Macaroon and Vellum using the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire and Paulina Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I adhered the other circle to the card with SNAIL. The hello is cut from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die. I brushed some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over it for some added interest. Finally, some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle and Green with Envy Sequins complete the card. I love all of the die cuts and the colors are great together! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thank you for stopping by and sharing in my weekend! I always appreciate your visits and wish you a fun Sunday! 🙂

And a very happy Saturday to you! I’m at The Ink Pad for the morning and then I’m going to wander around a bit. Later I’ll meet up with Michael for some dinner and then we are staying at my friend Kim’s again. Last night we took a really long walk along the Hudson, like 10 miles in total long! The sunset was beautiful and the weather was perfect. From Battery Park we walked to ChinaTown and had dinner at one of the best Chinese Restaurants, Wo Hop. If you are ever in Manhattan you have to go there, but not the one upstairs you need to go to the one downstairs! Here are some pictures from our wandering last night…

    Freshly Made Sketches 198

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use! I kept the card extremely simple, not even any stamping! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower portion is a strip of So Saffron. The two panels are pieces of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad. I backed one with Lost Lagoon and the other with Tangelo Twist. The bottom one is adhered to the card with SNAIL the one with the fun saying is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Some Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix and Tangerine Sequins scattered across the card finish it off nicely! Sometimes a simple card can be bright and fun, don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches and the pictures from my outing with Michael! Thank you for sharing in my day and I wish you a super fun Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 70

Oh… happy Friday peeps! The weather was nice but a bit cooler yesterday. Last night little Daniel was at my parents so I got to spend some time with him. I came home after and worked on a few projects and he came over with Taylor to visit. Later on I headed over to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday. It was nice to catch up with Heather and Stephanie and Michael stopped by too. I’m off to Manhattan this evening to spend the weekend at my friend Kim’s. She is going to CT for the weekend and Michael is working at The Ink Pad today and tomorrow so she was nice enough to offer us the apartment. Thanks Kim! Looking forward to it!

Every other Friday means that it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a sketch…

    Fab Fri 70 8-07-2015

I was fixated on using a new embossing folder that I got so that’s where this card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Tip Top Taupe and covered the entire card front with it. Next up is a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and a piece of Delightful Dijon that are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The Dijon piece is embossed with the Cricut Cuttlebug Old Paris Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Eiffel Tower is from the “Vintage” Artistic Etchings Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Delightful Dijon and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A piece of Washi Tape is adhered to some Solar White 80lb and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape, a thin strip of Real Red is adhered across the bottom. My hello is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Greetings Thinlits and adhered to the washi with Multi-Purpose Glue. I love that embossing folder and the Eiffel Tower image with the eclectic color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for checking in today! I wish all a very fabulous Friday! 🙂

  • Distressed Butterfly Wishes

Is it Thursday already?! We had more sunny weather yesterday, just how I like it! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Michael so that we could choose the papers for next week’s card class. We had Panera for dinner with Nicholas and then came back to my house. Michael worked on his projects in Stampin’ Galley! He made a really neat card and a cute gift bag that can be used to hold a gift card. He’ll be doing a blog post soon to show his projects! For now here is a picture of him hard at work!

    MT SG RC

It’s a little bit of a mess in there isn’t it?! I’ll work on my projects over the weekend. I’m looking forward to the joint class!

My card that I have today is one that I made because I wanted to try out a new die that Michael had gotten me, The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The panel is a piece of Crumb Cake, I used one the the dies from the new Memory Box Open Studio Distressed Wyndham Collage Die Set to cut out the lower left side. All of the stamped images are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flower and greeting are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the dashed line is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I also heat embossed the butterfly in Gold on Vellum and cut it out with the Butterfly Thinlits. It’s adhered to the card with a teeny piece of Foam Tape. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I love that Memory Box die, it’s so cool! A nice simple birthday card with a slightly rustic feel to it! I hope that you enjoyed my just for fun card for today! I thank you very much for coming by and I wish you all an excellent Thursday! 🙂
