  • Paper Players 253

Yay! It’s Wednesday! I always love when we start the wind down into the weekend! Yesterday it was overcast and rained a little but was really humid all day. After the fun filled day at work was done I stopped by my parents to see little Daniel. We played with an old camera and took turns taking pictures of each other. Once he found out how to open the film door that had to be done each time too! He’s so funny. Michael came by around 5:00 and he and I both worked on some projects for a bit before heading out to dinner at Villa Montie. They have the best pizza I think I have ever had and Michael agreed! After that we went to the Broadway Mall to see Jurassic World. It was a really good movie with some amazing special effects! I have decided that I would like my own Velociraptor! LOL! What a fun backyard pet that would make! I also ran into one of my co-workers Mary. Love her!

I have a quick card for you today and it’s for this week’s Paper Players color challenge…

    Paper Players #253

Love those colors!! I saw Jennifer McGuire stamp with White Pigment Ink and then stamp over it with regular ink and have wanted to give it a try, this color combo seemed perfect for that! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped my greeting from the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set in Smoky Slate. My panel is a piece of Sahara Sand, I stamped the flowers in Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink and then again in Sahara Sand on top of the white. The leaves are then stamped in Mint Macaroon, they are both from the Simon Says Stamp with W Plus 9 Many Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I backed it with a piece of Mint Macaroon and then adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A very simple card but I love the look of the flowers, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge! I always appreciate you stopping by so thanks and have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 5 – Theme

I am definitely not a Monday fan! I guess that it gets a bad rap because it follows the gloriousness that is the weekend! LOL! My theory on work this week is proving to be correct, bummer! Oh well, onward and upward right?! After dinner last night Taylor and I ran up to Michaels, she needed to pick up a few things and I needed a frame. When I got back to the house I spoke to Danielle and then FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit. After that I sat down to type my post. Sometimes when I do that I listen to music and last night I dug up an oldie but goodie! Alanis Morissette’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. It was one of my favorite albums when it came out and I used to listen to it on the train on the way home from work almost everyday. I was happy that I remembered the words!

Now on to today’s post for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Any Theme 5

Christmas in July! It’s never too early to think about making some Holiday cards! Maybe this will encourage me to actually get started early! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 100b Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die and adhered it to the base with 2-Way Glue. My tag is cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 Die from a piece of Garden Green and Mint Macaroon. I ran the Garden Green piece though the Big Shot again to cut out the tree with the Simon Says Stamp Banded Tree Craft Die. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The tags are then adhered together with some SNAIL, I threaded some Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Twine though the hole that I punched out. A few strips of Foam Tape adhere it to the card. Not too complicated and I love the Mint Macaroon with the Garden Green, oh and the triangle background that echoes the tree shape! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Now head on over to the blog and check out the other Design Team members cards. Don’t forget to enter one of your creations in the gallery! Thanks for checking in with me and have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 406

A quiet Sunday, necessary I guess. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off two of the cards for this week’s class. I had to pick out some different paper for the other two, I didn’t like the original ones that I choose. Other than that I just worked on projects, did laundry and watched a little TV. I really do find it hard to do nothing by myself, odd huh? This week at work should be loads of fun said no one ever! Hopefully it will be a quick one!

It’s Monday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo406

I got stuck on the greeting and that is how the rest of today’s card came into being! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate and Basic Gray that are adhered to a piece of White. I heat embossed the Hero Arts with Studio Calico Tiny Star Background Stamp with some White Hero Arts Embossing Powder. The patterned paper is from the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection Paper Pad and is backed with some Neenah Solar White 80lb. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Basic Black. I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Star Die for my embellishment. I love all of the stars and I didn’t realize that the patterned paper and the background stamp are coordinated until I typed this post! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. It would be great to see your card in the gallery so stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards! Thank you for checking in with me today! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 194

Hello peeps! What a great day we had in Manhattan yesterday! Michael and I met up with Kim and Angie at her old apartment around 9:15 and then headed over to the diner for some breakfast. After that we hopped into a cab and went down to the new apartment. Kim said that the movers finished the entire move in three hours on Friday, that’s pretty fast! Michael and I put the bookcase back together, we did have to run out to Home Depot to get a bit, but it was done in no time! We stopped at Baker Street for a yummy lunch and after that we headed over to Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick up some necessities. I got a text from my friend Isabella to stop by for tea so Michael and I went over to her apartment. We had a nice chat, Michael and Isabella talked about the art in Brasil and Argentina. From there we went back to meet Kim and Angie to go back uptown to get my car and headed over to see Bev and Jason on the West Side. After a nice visit with them Michael and I headed back out to the Island. What a great way to spend a Saturday!

Here are some pictures from the roof deck of my friend Kim’s new apartment…

    KD Apt Bridge

You can see the 59th Street Bridge through the buildings!

    KD Apt Tram

If you look closely there is the tram to Roosevelt Island in the middle of the picture.

    KD Apt Citi

And off in the distance is the top of the Citibank Building!

Today I have a quick card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 194

I wanted to do a little inking with some of the new Tim Holtz Distress colors so I created a simple birthday card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a Tim Holtz Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon on two pieces of Neenah Solar White 80lb. They are then cut out with the Lawn Fawn Party Balloons Lawn Cuts. I also used the dies to cut some Black Card Stock for the balloon strings. My sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The balloons are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape, the strings with 2-Way Glue. A fun simple birthday card, I love the way the blended ink gives the balloons some cool texture! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I always appreciate you stopping by to share in my day and I wish you a stupendous Sunday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 259

Note to self, if you are going to take off Thursday, take off Friday too! LOL! It’s rough to go back to work for one day. It was a busy day but it’s over! I came home and played with my Simon Says Stamp Kit that finally came. Michael stopped by for a bit and then I watched a little HGTV. This morning I’m going to pick up Michael and we are going to head into Manhattan to see Kim and her sister Angie who is in from Missouri. We are also going to take a trip down to the new apartment! Kim is moving in this week! Yay!

My little card that I made with the Kit is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 259

The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Soft Sky and then cut some Silver Foil Sheet with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and graduated them. My greeting, sail boat, waves and clouds are all from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the background and a thin piece of white which is adhered to the background with Foam Tape. The background is then adhered with SNAIL. I stamped the sail boat on Neenah Solar White 80lb, Pacific Point and Real Red and then cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered the sails to the boat with Foam Tape. For the waves I heat embossed them on Vellum with some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and cut them out with my Paper Snips. My clouds are heat embossed onto a wooden tag that I got from Michaels, the waves are adhered with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape and the boat with Foam Tape. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered with some more Foam Tape. I love the nautical feel and the wooden tag! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks so much for your visit and enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 68

Yesterday was a busy but fun filled day! I went with Michael to pick up Ken Oliver from his hotel around 10:30 and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to help him get set up. We took his first class which was an introduction to Color Bursts. There were 12 projects in all that we worked on and they were all fun! Here are some pictures of some of the projects that I did…

    Color Burst 1

    Color Burst 2

    Color Burst 3

And here is a picture of Michael, Me and Ken!

    Michael, Me and Ken

Ken is a really nice guy and a fun teacher. It was great to spend some time with him and get to know him, hope to see him again soon!

It was nice having yesterday off too because I can’t believe that it ‘s Friday! It’s time for another Fab Friday too and this time we have a sketch…

    Fab Fri 68 7-10-2015

This card has been in my head since Wednesday and I had already put all of the supplies out on my desk that I needed to make it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of patterned paper from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4.5×6.5 Paper Pad and adhered it to the base at an angle. Next up is one of the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames, I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Vellum and adhered it to the back of the frame. Some Foam Tape on the back of the frame adheres it to the card and gives it a little lift. The feather is cut from some Washi Tape from Michaels and adhered to more Neenah 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Dies. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres it to the frame and the card is done! This card was great not only because I had it all put together in my head but also because all of the supplies were ready to go! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge. Please take a minute to visit the blog and check out the other Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery. • OSAT Blog Hop – Christmas in July

    OSAT Blog Header

Hello everyone, happy Thursday to you! I am very late this morning, I had internet issues and then had to go and pick up Ken Oliver and take him to Scrap-A-Latte for the classes that he is teaching today! My apologies! Today I’m participating in the fifth blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Christmas in July! If you have arrived here from James Weber’s blog, welcome! James is one talented guy, isn’t he?! I have one card for you today so let’s get to it!

I used some fun Simon Says Stamp goodies to make my shaker card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the front with a piece of Kraft Card Stock. To make the shaker portion I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Frames Die from some more Neenah 110b and backed it with a piece of Window Sheet. Thin strips of Foam Tape goes around the edges, doubled up so that the shaker filling can really move. My snowflakes are cut from Neenah 80lb Card Stock using the Impression Obsession Small Snowflake Set twice. A few silver seed beads added and the frame is adhered to the card front. The poinsettia is cut from Cherry Cobbler with the Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Parade Die and adhered together with Glue Dots, a Pearl is added to the middle and finishes the card!

  • Paper Players 252

Ahh, Wednesday, halfway there! It was quite muggy here yesterday, you know that heavy feeling when you walk outside. Still take it over the snow and cold any day! My day yesterday was pretty good. Daniel was at my parent’s, he just gets cuter and cuter each time I see him! We played a little and then had dinner. Taylor went and stayed at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday while Renee took a some much needed time off. I had to go there and lock up and wouldn’t you know that I got all the way there and forgot the key at home! I don’t have a house key anymore, my iPhone unlocks my door when I walk up to it. So back in the car I got and went home and got the key and back to the store to lock up. After that I came home and worked on some projects. Today I’m going with Michael to pick up Ken Oliver from the airport. He is teaching two classes at Scrap-A-Latte on Thursday so I’m off from work! Michael and I are going to help out Renee. It should be a good time!

One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge from Ann…

    Paper Players #252

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Sock. I took a piece of Watercolor Paper and embossed it with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven Embossing Folder and covered the entire card front with it, adhering it with Fast Fuze and Multi-Purpose Glue. My tag is cut from another piece of Watercolor Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. I stamped the leaves form the Choose Happiness Stamp Set with Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and did the same with the flower. They are colored in with the Zig Clean Color Brush Pens, I used two shades of green for the leaves and some red for the flower. Instead of wiping off the excess color I heated the flower again and let the pigment melt into the embossing powder just for something different. My dragonfly is from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Neenah. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and adhered it and the flower to the tag with Foam Tape. Th greeting is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and adhered around the back of the tag. A piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I LOVE that embossing folder, it gives such amazing texture to the card, it really does look just like a basket! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Player theme challenge from Ann! Thank you so very much for spending some time with me today! Have a happy Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 3 – Inspiration

Monday is such a shock after a really nice weekend! LOL! Work was busy but bearable. I tackled the radio in the Saab after work and with a little help from Dad got it all straightened out. It’s good to have my bluetooth back and my music from my iPhone! Sometimes it’s the little conveniences that make all the difference! After I had finished with the car I came in and Skyped with Andrea while I worked on a few projects. Later I ran to Target to get 1/2 & 1/2 and left with $50 worth of stuff, does that happen to everyone or is it just me?! I hoping that it happens to everyone! LOL!

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have an inspiration photo from Andrea…

    AT Inspiration Challenge 4

The picture was actually taken at her wedding! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack. I stamped the leaves from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz on Watercolor Paper and then used a Waterbrush to pull the color in from the edges and fill in the leaves. Yes, I did fussy cut the image! The flowers are from the Something to Say Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride and the same technique is done to them. I used the Flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to punch them out and then adhered them with Glue Dots and placed a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle of each one. A strip of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and a piece of Blushing Bride are flagged and adhered to the card with Tear and Tape Adhesive. I stamped the greeting from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz before I adhered it. The cluster of leaves and flowers is adhered to the card with more Glue Dots. Love that cluster of leaves with the flowers, and it really wasn’t that hard to cut out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration cards and then add yours to the gallery! I hope that you will take some time and play along! Thanks very much for coming by to see me today, enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 405

Well, that was the best weekend I have had in a long time! Saturday in Manhattan then a BBQ and nice lazy Sunday with Michael watching movies and having Chinese food. Doesn’t get much better than that! I find it very difficult to just be and it was nice to get to do that for a change! I also received the replacement parts to fix the stereo in the Saab so I’ll see if I can get to that later on today. I hope that you all had a great weekend too!

It’s time once again for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo405

Another great sketch as usual! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock. The base layer of the background is made up of a piece of Chocolate Chip on the bottom and some “Vintage” Crisp Cantaloupe on top. The panel in the middle is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad backed with a piece of “Vintage” Coastal Cabana. My diagonal piece is Pumpkin Pie and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Photopolymer Stamp Set for the stitched circle that is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and the Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set for the greeting, that’s stamped in Blushing Bride. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut it out and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin Sequins are added to give the card a little sparkle. I love the stitched circle stamp, especially paired with the stitched circle dies! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Click on over to the blog and take a peek at the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! As always, your visits are greatly appreciated and I wish you all a happy Monday! 🙂
