Paper Craft Crew 58

Wednesday, the halfway mark! Yeah! Work was super busy yesterday, we have lots going on and never quite enough time to finish it. The weather was warm and humid and it’s supposed to get up in the 90’s today. Summer isn’t quite finished yet, which I’m definitely not complaining about. I’m not a huge fan of winter. I was just saying to a friend the other night that if I never saw snow again I would be fine with that. I envy you Floridians! 🙂

Wednesday also means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch…

I will tell you that I was stumped when I saw all those little circles but after spending some quality browsing time with my stamps I felt a little better. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack for the lower half and the top is a piece of Crumb Cake. Some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine goes around the middle and is tied in a bow before I adhered it to the base. Two more pieces of the DSP are flagged and placed behind the greeting which is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The presents are from the Wishing You Stamp Set and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, Baked Brown Sugar and Old Olive. Some Paper Snip action separates them and they are adhered to a piece of Crumb Cake and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the little cluster of gifts does a nice job representing the circles and I like the fact that red and green are kept to a minimum! Paper Players 162

And there goes another weekend zipping by. Monday, why must you come so quickly?! I had a productive weekend so I can’t complain, got lots of projects finished and that is always good. I’m wishing this cold would go away, that would make me very happy indeed! How was your weekend? Did you do any fun last hurrah for the summer things?

Monday does mean that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week we have an interesting color combo from lovely LeAnne…

I had a little trouble deciding what to do at first, there are quite a few possibilities. In the end I went with a simple thank you card. For the base I used a piece of Basic Black Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Stack. The main image and greeting are from the Gifts of Kindness Stamp Set, the flowers are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the greeting in Basic Black. I backed it with a piece of Pool Party and a piece of Basic Black. The butterfly is from the Polka-dot Pieces Stamp Set and is also stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Two Subtles Designer Buttons make up the flower centers and some Basic Jewels Pearls give the butterfly a little oomph. I haven’t made a simple card like this one in a while and I love the combination of the stamp sets and DSP, they work quite well together. Just Add Ink 181

Hello there peeps! How is the weekend so far? Mine is going pretty well. I got a lot of projects done yesterday and even got to watch some TV, which I never do! Unfortunately my office mate Danielle has decided to share her cold with me. I haven’t been sick in ages so thanks Danielle for helping me to remember how much fun a cold is! LOL!

One of the projects that I got to create yesterday was my card for this week’s Just Add Ink color challenge…

I really love these colors, especially the addition of silver! The base of my card starts off with a piece of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and the background is a piece of Brushed Silver Card Stock that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The frame in the middle is created with the Squares Collection Framelits Dies and the background insert is the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set stamped in Bermuda Bay. Across the bottom I used the Epic Day This & That Rotary Stamp and stamped an important date. LOL! All of the stamped elements on the frame and across the bottom of the card are from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set. The three images across the bottom are punched out with the 1″ Square Punch. I used the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to create my fat feathers and adhered them behind a Neutrals Designer Button that is threaded with some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon. I really love the card and it’s collage look. The feathers were fun and easy to make and the Brushed Silver CS embosses great! Fab Friday 26

Woo hoo! You know what today is!! It’s FRIDAY! If I didn’t start my post off like that you would think you were in the wrong place! LOL! Work was very busy all week and office equipment tried to thwart my progress on numerous occasions. Let’s see if I can prevail today. I’m off to Manhattan tonight with my friend Heather to meet some peeps. It’s supposed to be fall like here today with summer making a comeback over the weekend. I’ll let you know about the festivities tomorrow!

It’s also time for another Fab Friday challenge. This week we have a fun color challenge for you…

Every once in a while when I see that there are five colors I panic a little but then I realized that all of these colors are in the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper. The base of the card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of the aforementioned DSP that I “ticketed” the corners on and backed with a piece of Chocolate Chip. The snowflakes are from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Sky and cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies. The tag is rounded at the top with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and “ticketed” on the bottom corners. A piece of Crushed Curry punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack is at the top with some Linen Thread tied in a bow. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. I stamped the Cheer on a cut out from the Label Card Thinlits Dies, I like the 3D effect that it gives the greeting. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You know that I love a non traditional Christmas card and this one definitely fits the bill. It also has a little bit of rustic country feel to it. Freshly Made Sketches 102

Ahh yes… it’s Thursday already! Woo hoo! This week is just flying by! It was a gorgeous day here on Long Island yesterday, sunny and there was a nice breeze. Unfortunately I was stuck inside most of the day but I did have a productive day at work. Things are being checked off my lengthy to-do list left and right. Getting stuff done and off of my desk is such a good feeling. My boss promised that she wouldn’t check her email but she has been. I may remote wipe her phone if she doesn’t stop! 🙂

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Cindy…

A nice simple card for a nice simple sketch. The base of today’s card is Perfect Plum Card Stock. The background is a piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and rounded the corners. The strip of Daffodil Delight is stamped in Daffodil Delight with the Positively Chevron Background Stamp. A pice of Crushed Curry 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon is adhered around the back of the white, I know Crushed Curry Ribbon and Daffodil Delight… I think the Daffodil stamped on Daffodil matches the ribbon quite well actually! The image is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. It’s the only image in the set that I haven’t used before and I like it! LOL! Another piece of Crushed Curry Ribbon is tied with a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine to finish off the card. I really do like the colors together, I think I’m needing some more summer! Paper Craft Crew 57

Wow! Wednesday already! Missing that Monday is just the best isn’t it? I had a nice day at work today, got a lot checked off my to-do list. Came home and tinkered at the craft desk for a bit. I got a lot of my stuff done over the weekend so it’s nice to just sit and mess around with ideas and see what happens. I do end up with lots of pieces, but they will eventually make it on to something. The weather here was rainy and overcast with some humidity thrown in for good measure. Last night it started to feel a little more pleasant, we might even be able to have the windows open again!

Today, being Wednesday, means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge. This week we have a tilted sketch for you…

I kept pretty true to the sketch this time, just changing up the main shape a bit. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock, I left it plain so the middle panel would really stand out. Speaking of the middle panel, The top half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Pear Pizzaz. My World Map Stamp is stamped in Pear Pizzaz for the bottom half and across the middle is some Baked Brown Sugar that I cut with the new Stampin’ Rotary Trimmer and the Small Scallop Blade. I mounted it all to a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. A little piece of Pool Party that I flagged and stamped with the Notable Notions Stamp Set is tucked under the scallop. The main images are from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set. The top one is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. The bottom one is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. Two “Vintage” 3/16″ Metallic Brads are on either side. A very Vintage Designer Button with some Pool Party Card Stock threaded through and three Subtles Candy Dots complete the card. Mojo 309

Ahh… Tuesday already! How was your three day weekend? Mine went exceptionally quickly but I guess that’s because I had a lot going on which is a good thing. Yesterday I spent a lot of time at the craft desk, it was dreary and muggy here almost all day. I got some projects finished, started some new ones and just played for a bit. I did make the mistake of venturing out to BJ’s at one point and it was a mad house. My friend Sandy said that Staples was the same. That’s because everyone just remembered that school starts tomorrow! LOL! Last minute is always the worst idea but we are all guilty of it. This week will be a good week, mainly because it’s a four day week! Woo hoo! 🙂

Today I have my Mojo Monday sketch card for you. The sketch we have this week is provided by Julee Tilman…

My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. The background is the “Vintage” Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing folder from last year’s Holiday Catalog in Pumpkin Pie. I thought that it went really well with the Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper that I used on both of the panels. Each of them are backed with some Basic Gray and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Tags 4 You Stamp Set and is punched out with the Bracket Label Punch. A piece of Basic Black that I flagged on both ends goes behind it. A Pumpkin Pie Brights Designer Button with a Basic Glimmer Brad in the center completes the card. So what do you think, doesn’t the Lacy Brocade Folder look neat with the DSP?! Just Add Ink 180

Ahh… the first day into the three day weekend! So, did I get out of work early yesterday you might be wondering? Well, I did get to leave at 4:00 but I had to go back at 5:00 so that really doesn’t count does it?! Not good! But I did have a very nice dinner with my friend Anthony and my Fred stopped by for a bit too. I also got to see my friends Brian and Kim and the kiddies in between work. Today I’m off to a block party to see more friends, that should be a lot of fun!

I do want to mention that Shelli Gardner the CEO of Stampin’ Up! fell off of her horse yesterday and hurt herself pretty badly. Keep her in your thoughts and wish her a speedy recovery along with me please. Without her I wouldn’t be able to be as creative as I am.

On to the business at hand, today’s card which is for this week’s Just Add Ink. The lovely and talented ladies choose my card for their Top Pick last week! You can see the original post here and their winners post here. This week we have a challenge to use markers, aqua painters, crayons, chalks etc. for some coloring. I choose to use some sponge daubers and went with an ombre style look.

The base of my card is a piece of Vellum Card Stock. The card front is made from a piece of Very Vanilla. I used the Bitty Butterfly Punch to punch out a piece of Window Sheet and a piece of Printer Paper. I used the punched Window Sheet as a stencil to sponge the butterflies with Soft Sky, Pool Party, Costal Cabana and Bermuda Bay ink. I then used the punched piece of Printer Paper as a mask to stamp all of the butterflies with the same ink colors. The stamp is the script from the Notable Notions Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts in the same ink colors too. The large butterfly is another piece of vellum and is cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Folder. Three Basic Jewels Pearls complete the card. I love the stencil and masked butterflies and the ombre effect. Thank you for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. Freshly Made Sketches 101

Well, it’s finally here! FRIDAY! I know, I get way too excited about Friday every week but I do love my weekends! I don’t have any big plans but that can change at any time. I’m going to have dinner with my friend Anthony tonight and I’m hoping that we get out of work early today (fingers crossed)! Other than that not much going on and that means that I can get in some quality crafty time! The weather, hmm… it was overcast here but didn’t rain by me but they say it will be raining in the morning for a bit and then clear up. I know, the weather is thrilling isn’t it?!?! LOL! But the highlight of my evening last night was getting to video chat with my friend Carolyn from Australia! It was so nice to actually get to speak to her and I look forward to doing it again soon!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week’s sketch is from Linda…

I have been wanting to do another freestyle collage card and this seemed like the perfect layout! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of paper from the Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper Stack and some Cork Sheet are flagged and adhered to the card. I stamped the Smoky Slate panel with the Filmstrip Stamp in Smoky Slate and adhered it to base over the two flags with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The circle is cut from Whisper White with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and is adhered with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the ampersand out with the Typeset Bigz Dies, the bird is from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set, the flower is from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and is cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies and finally the small flower is punched out with the Boho Blossom Punch and a Basic Jewel Rhinestone is adhered in the middle. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Thursday, how nice to see you again! One more day people! Rumor has it that we are going to get out of work early tomorrow and there will not be many people there anyway! Love days like that. My boss asked me to make two thank you card for her and I also managed to get another card made last night too. I love when I can get three cards made in one night. The weather here was sunny but overcast and at one point it looked like it might rain but didn’t. I don’t think the weather man has high hopes for the weekend either but I think they do that sometimes just in case it’s not the greatest. I don’t have any big plans, maybe just lay low and get some work done around the house. I also desperately need to organize my craft area which I have been doing little by little. Really little though!

Now for today’s card that is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. This time our sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

My card starts off with a base of Pistachio Pudding Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Crumb Cake and the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set stamped in Pistachio Pudding and Crumb Cake randomly. A piece of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon is adhered around the back before the panel is mounted to the base. The greeting is the new Magical Season Single Stamp stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits and paper pierced with the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack around the edge. I backed it with a piece of Pistachio Pudding cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits and embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Some Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake punched out with the Boho Blossom Punch creates the flower. One Basic Jewel Pearl in the center of the flower and three in the lower right corner complete the card. I really like the Cherry Cobbler with the Pistachio Pudding and the oval back by the label is pretty cool too.
