Mojo Monday 414 & More London!

Hi there and a very happy Monday to you! Happy Monday you say, well of course, I’m on vacation! LOL! Yesterday was a quiet day, we hung out at the house. My cousin Tracey’s mum Dawn and her partner Alan were her and Tracey made a roast dinner that was delicious! The rest of the evening was spent watching some TV. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday! Today Brian and I are off to London again! Here are a few more pictures from Friday’s little adventure.

Now off we go to today’s post! It’s for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Lots of nice layers! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front. Across the middle is a strip of Smoky Slate. The large and small panels are also pieces of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack, the larger one is backed with Basic Black and the small with Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and flagged the bottom. The two panels are adhered to the card and the greeting flag with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Sparkle and Shine and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the small panel. Fab Friday 72 & the London Eye

Hello and a happy Friday to you! Brian and I did a lot of wandering around London yesterday. Our first stop was the London Eye, that huge ferris wheel that lets you see all of London on a nice day and it was a very nice day indeed! We actually got lucky and when we went to get on line the guy there moved us over to the quick one and we were on in five minutes. You really can see so much from up there and it takes about 30 minutes to go all the round. The first thing that you notice is Big Ben…

Next up is Charing Cross Station…

When we left we walked across Westminster Bridge and got this nice photo of the Eye…

Today is a Fab Friday and we have a sketch for you this time…

I stayed very true to the sketch, I haven’t used a doily in really long time! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Blushing Bride. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is adhered to the card with SNAIL and across that is a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet and a strip of Adhesive Cork. I cut a piece of the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered that to the doily with Foam Tape. For the heart I inked a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s cut out with the Memory Box Stitched Hearts Layers Dies and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Locking Hearts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink on the bottom right of the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. I really like the softness of the pink with the woodgrain, it makes for a nice contrast! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge! Twinkle Little Star

Ahh… much better after a good night’s sleep! We went out last night for some Chinese food, it’s very different over here, I think that it tastes better. It rained a little last night but is supposed to be nice weather today. It’s in the low 60’s here. Brian and I are going to wander around London for a bit today. My parents are arriving this morning so I’ll stop by my uncle’s to see them later on. Hopefully I will have some nice pictures for you tomorrow!

Today I have a fun simple card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I spattered the front with Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine. The greeting is a journaling card from We R Memory Keepers. I used some SNAIL and Sweet Dreams Designer Washi Tape to adhere it to the card. My stars are cut out from Lost Lagoon and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Essentials by Ellen Home and Hearth Designer Dies, they are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Another piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Star Die and adhered to the card Multi-Purpose Glue. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the card for some extra sparkle! I love when you can use a journaling card to make a quick greeting card! SIP Challenge 12 – Colors!

Today’s the day, I’m off to the airport this afternoon to make my way to London! I still have to pack, I know, I should have done that already. Yesterday was kind of a relax and catch up day. I made a bunch of cards and watched some TV. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, we are going to have a dinner date when I get back. I’m going to try and have lunch with Heather today and then Andrew will be by around 3:00 to pick me up. Tomorrow’s post will be later in the day as I will be five hours ahead for the next two weeks. I hope that you will come along to London and Paris with me! I’ll have lots of pictures and cards for you!

Today is Tuesday so it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This time around we have a fun color combo for you…

Yes! A black and white and then your choice of any other color! My card today begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp and Black Ink to create my background. My main panel is Solar White 110lb. The stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used some Simon Says Stamp Mint Ink to stamp the solid balloons with the outlines, strings, bows and greeting stamped in Simon Says Stamp Slate Ink. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins with Ranger Multi-Medium Matte to the panel. I love the bold black stripes with the deconstructed look of the balloons! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Mojo Monday 413

Monday, a no work Monday too! Yesterday was a quiet day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then went over to Brian and Kim’s to fill out the advance passenger info for the flight to London. We also booked our tickets on the Eurostar to go to Paris overnight. I have never been there so that should be fun! After we ran to the Apple Store, BJ’s and BestBuy and then had dinner. I came home and watched some TV, I have a lot to do and not much motivation. I hate when that happens.

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

This card contains goodies from lots of different places! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Mint Macaroon that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The panel is a piece of paper from a Heidi Swapp 6×6 Paper Pad and I backed it with a piece of Rose Red. A strip of Basic Black goes down the left side. My flowers are cut from Solar White 80lb and Rose Red using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone and matching Dies. They are adhered to each other with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the panel. A few Essentials by Ellen Matte Black and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I like the different color combo and the scribbly flowers! Typeset Inked Leaves

It’s Saturday, I went into Manhattan yesterday with Brian to get his passport, again, don’t ask! We stopped by The Ink Pad and I ran in and said hello to Barbara then we stopped at Max Brenner so Brian could pick up some chocolate for Kim (his Kim!). Luckily when we got to Kim’s (my Kim!) we got a space right outside the building. We had to go and get the couch, fit it in the elevator and then bring up from the basement. Thankfully it wasn’t too heavy! The traffic wasn’t too bad on the way home either. We took the old couch out of my house and put the new one in and then ran my couch over to Heather’s. While we were there we re-arranged the furniture and then I went back to Brian’s, he made me a quesadilla and then I came home and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit. Michael got here around 10:00. We watched some TV and then called it a night. Later on today we are going to have lunch with his dad and step-mum and then tonight, much to my dismay, I will take him to the airport. I’m happy that he was here for the summer, I had a fantastic one thanks to him!

Today I have a simple masculine birthday card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frames along with a piece of Basic Black that is adhered to the striped piece with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next up I took a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and inked it with Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink and my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s is then adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb with a Glue Stick and die cut using the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die. A few Glue Dots adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Pals Paper Arts 265

A super happy Friday to you! Yes, I’m off from work until September 21st! Michael stopped by the office yesterday and said goodbye to everyone and then I did the same. I did manage to get out of work at 2:00 and I came home and made a few cards and then went to Smashburger for dinner with Michael and Taylor. We stopped off and got some dessert on the way home and then I helped Michael with some pictures on his computer. I still can’t believe that he is going home tomorrow. This afternoon I’m going to take a ride into Manhattan with Brian to pick up his passport, don’t ask, LOL! We are also going to stop by Kim’s and get a couch that she’s giving me and then take my couch over to Heather. Tonight Michael is going to stay by me and then tomorrow night I will take him to JFK. Bummer.

One of the cards that I made yesterday is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

A super simple sketch and I got my Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit yesterday so I had to play with it! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with a piece of Basic Black covering the front. For the background I used a piece of paper from the PInkFresh Studios Happy Things 6×6 Paper Pad. The main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb backed with some more Basic Black. The images are from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Teal, Teeny Bikini and Duckling Ink. The outlines are stamped in Smoke and the strings and bows in Memento Tuxedo Black. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed on a piece of Basic Gray in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, tucking the greeting underneath. To balance the card I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix, Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Essentials by Ellen Iridescent Gray and Matte Black Sequins with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium on the right side of the panel. I love all of the goodies that you get in this month’s kit especially the fun stamp set! I really hope that you enjoy today’s card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! SIP Challenge 11 – Tic-Tac-Toe

Only three more days of work to go! I can do this! LOL! You know when you have so much happening at one time you just want to slow everything down, that’s where I am right now. I’m looking forward to my trip but not looking forward to seeing my friend leave. The emotions of both are pulling in different directions! I would like to put this Summer on repeat for a while, do you know what I mean? But nothing in life is constant except for change, right? Anyway enough about that! Little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got home and we played with his trucks for a bit before dinner. After, I came home and made a few cards and then just pondered life for a bit. You need to do that every once in a while!

It’s Tuesday and that means that we are ready for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

This Tic-Tac-Toe board is a collaboration of Michael and I. Eventually we will get him to participate in the actual challenge! I went across the middle, Twine, Die Cut and Sequins. I have been enjoying the neutrals with the nice pops of color lately so I went that route again! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink on some Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My frame and bubble for the sentiment are from the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts. The frame is cut from more Solar White 80lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape, I tied some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around the frame before adhering it. For the flower I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama and Lucky Ink to color another piece of Solar White 80lb. The die is from Elizabeth Crafts and is called Lotus Flower. It cuts the backing and the open flower, they are adhered sparingly together with 2-Way Glue and then to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Purple Michaels Sequins add some sparkle and complete the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Mojo Monday 412

So, another weekend done. It was Michael’s last weekend here, he goes home on Saturday. I have had the best time with him this summer! It is going to very hard to say goodbye but hopefully it won’t be for too long. There are a lot of people rooting for him to come back ASAP! It’s also my last week at work for a while. As of Friday I’m on vacation until September 21st! I have Sunday and Monday to pack and then I’m off to London with my friend Brian for two weeks. I will be blogging but not a card every day. I’ll be sharing pictures and tales of my travels. Hopefully you will come along with me on my trip!

The start of another week and it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I wanted to do something a little different, play with color a little bit. The base for my card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. For the background I used a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. That large cool globe is the Tim Holtz Globe Die cut from Cucumber Crush and backed with a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The tag is cut from a piece of Crumb Cake using the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Framelits and Stamps. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Follow My Heart Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord thorough the hole before adhering it to a strip of Vellum with Fun Foam and SNAIL. That is then adhered to the card with more SNAIL hidden behind the tag. A Red Glimmer Paper heart is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered to the corner of the tag with Foam Tape. I love the subtle neutrals with the pop of the Cucumber Crush and Pacific Point, it really makes the globe stand out! Gold Mint Shining Star Birthday

Hi there! I aim to be a bit more productive today than I was yesterday! After my lazy morning Michael and I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. The weather was perfect yesterday for a nice ride in the convertible. When we finished there we headed to Friday’s for some dinner and then came back to the house and saw Taylor for a bit. We watched a little TV and then Michael went back to Sue’s and I made a card and puttered around a bit before calling it a night. Let’s see what today brings!

Oh, I almost forgot! Michael made a super clean card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th sketch! You can check it out by visiting his blog HERE!

The card is a somewhat simple birthday card, I wanted to use a new die that Michael had gotten me! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I put a strip of Little B Washi Tape down the right side of a piece of Mint Macaroon and adhered that to the card. Another piece of Basic Black is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The star is that new die I mentioned from Spellbinders called Shining Star. I cut it out from Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Mint Macaroon and also adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins completes the card. I love the Mint Macaroon and Black together and that star is just so cool! I hope that you enjoyed today’s birthday card!
