Fab Friday 69

Hello everyone! It’s FRIDAY! Yesterday was another great day! Maggie took Michael’s Baby Book class at Scrap-A-Latte so we were there for most of the day. Everyone loved the class and the book is awesome! I helped out and worked on a few things for Renee. After everyone was done Maggie, Michael and I stopped by the house and Skyped with Andrea for little bit before heading to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to my house I worked on another card and then we watched some of the videos that I shot from the Sam Smith concert. This morning we are going to head out East for the day and maybe pay a visit to the wineries.

It’s also time for another Fab Friday and this time we have a color combos for you…

Today my card begins with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. I ran two strips of of Bohemian Designer Washi Tape down the left side. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. The flowers are from the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Versa-Mark on Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow, heat embossed with White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with the matching dies. The leaves are adhered to the tag with SNAIL and the flowers with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine through the top and then adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Thanks Script Die. I cut it out twice from Lost Lagoon and adhered them to each other and to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. I really do love the look of white heat embossing for florals, especially on the dark card stock! SIP Challenge 6 – Tic-Tac-Toe

And another Monday is done! I’ll skip over work today, just because it’s better that way! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. Michael was there preparing for his baby book class. There was a ton of cutting to do so I helped by doing some of the die cutting. We were there until 8:00 and he still has some left to do! Wait until you see the book though, it’s awesome! We went out and had SmashBurger for dinner, so yummy! After that I came back to the house and made my card for today. Another really good day!

It’s time once again for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board from Sandy…

I choose to go across the middle and threw in the left corner too! My card today begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles Dies. The sides are masked off with some Post-It Tape and I then heat embossed it with the Hardwood Background Stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fast Fuse. For the greeting I cut out the thanks from the Greetings Thinlits from a piece of Island Indigo. I adhered the negative to the card with some Foam Tape. My butterfly is a piece of Vellum cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. Some Black Perfect Pearls is used for the body and the wings are fluffed up a little. Finally, a few Enamel Dots from Michaels are adhered around the greeting. I made my own embossed patterned paper with the Hardwood Stamp and I love the way that the white looks on the black! Mojo Monday 407

Seeing the weekend end is such a bummer! I did have another absolutely fantastic weekend so no complaining! Saturday in Manhattan with Michael and friends at The Ink Pad and then a nice lazy Sunday morning. After a late breakfast with Heather Michael and I worked on some projects and he made two cards and did a post! You have to go and take a look and see what he made by stopping by his BLOG! Around 3:00 we headed out to Michaels and then stopped for some pizza for lunch before taking a little trip over to see my friend Chantal. It has been way too long since I have seen her! We had a nice chat and then stopped back at my house before going to Long Beach. I forget how nice it is to go to the beach and just walk along the ocean and that’s just what we did. Here are a few pictures…

But Monday’s are pretty good too because that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I got a new toy over the weekend and was dying to try it out! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad on the lower half and across the top of that is a piece of Real Red. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black above the Real Red. The lifesaver and the sailboat are also from the same stamp set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copic Markers to color them in and then cut them out with my Paper Snips. My shaker pocket is created using a stamp pocket from Simon Says Stamp and the new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool. I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and then adhered the lifesaver and the Smoky Slate half circle to the pocket. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam then holds the pocket to the card. A little Foam Tape adheres the sailboat to the half circle and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Fuse Tool, especially for creating a fun and easy shaker pocket! I’m also having fun playing with the Copic Markers, I still have a long way to go with my coloring however! Many Thanks Floral & The Ink Pad!

A good afternoon to you! I had a nice lazy morning and then went out to brunch with Heather and Michael. We just went to the local Deli and sat outside, but it was very nice and quiet. Yesterday I was in Manhattan all day at The Ink Pad. I helped Michael in the morning until Barbara got in. He did a few demos of Color Bursts and Stick-It. As an added bonus Sally Field came into the store with her grandson. She was very sweet and unassuming. After work Michael, Barbara, Jane and I went out to dinner at Umami Burger. We had these sweet potato fries that were covered in maple syrup and bacon, they were absolute heaven! The burgers were quite good too as were the panko onion rings. A very nice way to spend a Saturday! Here is a little shot of the front of The Ink Pad…

So today I have another simple card. I took a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Pale Blush Pink directly onto the card front. My panel is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb, I stamped the flowers in the same pink and the leaves in Green Apple from the Simon Says Stamp Many Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. My greeting is stamped in Black and some Fun Foam and SNAIL adheres the panel to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins give a little shine and complete the card. Freshly Made Sketches 195

It was another dreary day here on Long Island yesterday and it finally poured for about 15 minutes around 5:15 yesterday and then it was done. Michael met me at my house at 3:45 and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. I had to cut for class and he wanted to finish working on his baby book. We also got to see Renee’s kids Nicholas and Krista. They left a little early to go to dinner so we locked up. On the way home we stopped and got Hurricane’s Wings for dinner and came back to my house and watched some YouTube videos. Another nice day! So far it’s been a pretty good week and It’s almost Friday! Woo hoo!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I have been wanting to use a new butterfly die that I acquired and this seemed like a good place for it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die to cut out some Vellum and adhered it to the card with 2-Way Glue. The Simon Says Stamp Leanna Butterfly is cut from Blushing Bride and Mint Macaroon, the two pink ones are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the mint one with a tiny piece of Foam Tape. I put a Basic Jewel Pearl in the middle of each one. The greeting is cut from Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp You’re Amazing Die and adhered to the card with some more 2-Way Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and complete the card and give it a little sparkle. I love the delicate look of the butterflies against the soft vellum leaves! SIP Challenge 5 – Theme

I am definitely not a Monday fan! I guess that it gets a bad rap because it follows the gloriousness that is the weekend! LOL! My theory on work this week is proving to be correct, bummer! Oh well, onward and upward right?! After dinner last night Taylor and I ran up to Michaels, she needed to pick up a few things and I needed a frame. When I got back to the house I spoke to Danielle and then FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit. After that I sat down to type my post. Sometimes when I do that I listen to music and last night I dug up an oldie but goodie! Alanis Morissette’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. It was one of my favorite albums when it came out and I used to listen to it on the train on the way home from work almost everyday. I was happy that I remembered the words!

Now on to today’s post for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

Christmas in July! It’s never too early to think about making some Holiday cards! Maybe this will encourage me to actually get started early! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 100b Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die and adhered it to the base with 2-Way Glue. My tag is cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 Die from a piece of Garden Green and Mint Macaroon. I ran the Garden Green piece though the Big Shot again to cut out the tree with the Simon Says Stamp Banded Tree Craft Die. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The tags are then adhered together with some SNAIL, I threaded some Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Twine though the hole that I punched out. A few strips of Foam Tape adhere it to the card. Not too complicated and I love the Mint Macaroon with the Garden Green, oh and the triangle background that echoes the tree shape! Pals Paper Arts 259

Note to self, if you are going to take off Thursday, take off Friday too! LOL! It’s rough to go back to work for one day. It was a busy day but it’s over! I came home and played with my Simon Says Stamp Kit that finally came. Michael stopped by for a bit and then I watched a little HGTV. This morning I’m going to pick up Michael and we are going to head into Manhattan to see Kim and her sister Angie who is in from Missouri. We are also going to take a trip down to the new apartment! Kim is moving in this week! Yay!

My little card that I made with the Kit is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Soft Sky and then cut some Silver Foil Sheet with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and graduated them. My greeting, sail boat, waves and clouds are all from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the background and a thin piece of white which is adhered to the background with Foam Tape. The background is then adhered with SNAIL. I stamped the sail boat on Neenah Solar White 80lb, Pacific Point and Real Red and then cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered the sails to the boat with Foam Tape. For the waves I heat embossed them on Vellum with some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and cut them out with my Paper Snips. My clouds are heat embossed onto a wooden tag that I got from Michaels, the waves are adhered with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape and the boat with Foam Tape. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered with some more Foam Tape. I love the nautical feel and the wooden tag! Paper Players 252

Ahh, Wednesday, halfway there! It was quite muggy here yesterday, you know that heavy feeling when you walk outside. Still take it over the snow and cold any day! My day yesterday was pretty good. Daniel was at my parent’s, he just gets cuter and cuter each time I see him! We played a little and then had dinner. Taylor went and stayed at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday while Renee took a some much needed time off. I had to go there and lock up and wouldn’t you know that I got all the way there and forgot the key at home! I don’t have a house key anymore, my iPhone unlocks my door when I walk up to it. So back in the car I got and went home and got the key and back to the store to lock up. After that I came home and worked on some projects. Today I’m going with Michael to pick up Ken Oliver from the airport. He is teaching two classes at Scrap-A-Latte on Thursday so I’m off from work! Michael and I are going to help out Renee. It should be a good time!

One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge from Ann…

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Sock. I took a piece of Watercolor Paper and embossed it with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven Embossing Folder and covered the entire card front with it, adhering it with Fast Fuze and Multi-Purpose Glue. My tag is cut from another piece of Watercolor Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. I stamped the leaves form the Choose Happiness Stamp Set with Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and did the same with the flower. They are colored in with the Zig Clean Color Brush Pens, I used two shades of green for the leaves and some red for the flower. Instead of wiping off the excess color I heated the flower again and let the pigment melt into the embossing powder just for something different. My dragonfly is from the Awesomely Artistic Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Neenah. I used my Paper Snips to cut it out and adhered it and the flower to the tag with Foam Tape. Th greeting is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and adhered around the back of the tag. A piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top and the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I LOVE that embossing folder, it gives such amazing texture to the card, it really does look just like a basket! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Player theme challenge from Ann! Mojo Monday 405

Well, that was the best weekend I have had in a long time! Saturday in Manhattan then a BBQ and nice lazy Sunday with Michael watching movies and having Chinese food. Doesn’t get much better than that! I find it very difficult to just be and it was nice to get to do that for a change! I also received the replacement parts to fix the stereo in the Saab so I’ll see if I can get to that later on today. I hope that you all had a great weekend too!

It’s time once again for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Another great sketch as usual! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock. The base layer of the background is made up of a piece of Chocolate Chip on the bottom and some “Vintage” Crisp Cantaloupe on top. The panel in the middle is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad backed with a piece of “Vintage” Coastal Cabana. My diagonal piece is Pumpkin Pie and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Photopolymer Stamp Set for the stitched circle that is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and the Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set for the greeting, that’s stamped in Blushing Bride. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut it out and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin Sequins are added to give the card a little sparkle. I love the stitched circle stamp, especially paired with the stitched circle dies! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Pals Paper Arts 258

Happy 4th of July my friends! I had a very nice day yesterday, work was quiet and I even snuck out early! When I got home I worked on a few projects and ran some errands. Around 6:30 I stopped by to see Brian and Kim before heading over to Sue’s to have dinner with Michael. We had pizza and garlic knots. This morning we are off to Manhattan, Michael is working at The Ink Pad downtown and I’ll be there with him so if you are going to be in the city today come by and say hello, we’d love to see you!

For today’s post I have a fun card for you for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I have a ton of Lawn Fawn sets from class, it’s time that I started giving them a little love! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. My background is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Ovals to cut out a piece of Night of Navy for the frame, Window Sheet and some Fun Foam. They are adhered to one another with SNAIL. I put some of the Clear Sequins in the shaker that Michael brought me from Brasil and then adhered the frame to the card. The cactus and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Suck on You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the cactus in Cucumber Crush and the pot and greeting in Watermelon Wonder. The cactus and pot are cut out with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Stuck on You Lawn Cuts Dies. Some Foam Tape adheres all of the pieces to the card. I do really enjoy a shaker card and love the fun cactus!
