We had a some snow this morning, about 5 inches! And it was that powdery fluffy snow so the roads were a treat on the way to work. Someone spun out in front of me and then sat there for about 5 minutes composing themselves and then our top speed was 5 MPH. I can’t get up the hill at 5  MPH, I need a little momentum! LOL! The convertible is not a fan of the winter, I think that it likes it less than I do! However, around 12:00 the sun came out and it was actually not bone chillingly cold! That will be short lived though as we are supposed to have the coldest day of the year on Friday. I think I will stay in that whole day! When I came home last night there was a little package from England for me from a company called Clearly Besotted. They are small stamp company and I fell in love with one of their sets and had to have it! I’ll post a card in the near future so you can see what I mean. Last night I played around in the Stampin’ Galley and skyped with my buddy Eva. All in all a pretty good day!

It’s Wednesday and you know that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch challenge…

    PCCCS132 DT Sketch 2-18-2015

I kept pretty close to the sketch and came up with a very simple yet elegant card! For the base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and covered the entire front with a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack. I adhered a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon behind the paper and then used a fork to tie my bow. A Glue Dot holds the bow in place. My greeting is from the Hello There Host Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Before I removed the label from my cutting platform I used a Gold Gelly Roll Pen to outline the die cut with the Framelit. I adhered a doily from the Artisan Embellishment Kit to the card behind the label which is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Up in the right hand corner are three flowers from the same set. They are stamped in Gold Encore Metallic Ink on Sahara Sand and then heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. A quick punch with the “Vintage” Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a few Basic Jewels Pearls before they are adhered with Glue Dots. Three more pearls along the bottom of the label and the card is complete! I love the DSP, nice and subtle, especially with the gold! I hope that you too like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog and take a look at my teammates projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today, I hope that you all have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Brrr… it was a new kind of cold here yesterday! Bitter and the wind definitely didn’t help! I let my car warm up for 15 minutes and the poor thing still wasn’t ready to go! Work was the usual fun, except while I was doing something yesterday afternoon I got the message that there were no more licenses left to add any more users. Our illustrious IT Support company of course didn’t get back to me. Oh well, looks like I have to wait to hear back from them before I can continue! Mum made Chicken in White Wine with Mushrooms last night for dinner, one of my favorites! After I quickly ran to my house along with Winston, who doesn’t care much for the cold either. Once inside I retreated into the Stampin’ Galley and had a little Skype session with my friend Andrea and made today’s card. Not too bad for a Monday. How was yours?!

Before we got to today’s card lets take a look at this week’s Stampin’ Up! weekly deals:

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge for the talented Julee Tilman…

     Mojo385

I always love the Mojo sketches! In continuing with my agenda to banish Winter I have another bright card! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Soft Sky that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. My angled strip is Blackberry Bliss, I used one of the dies from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes, it’s just a strip that lets you add a stitched detail to the edge of most anything. The square in the middle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares. I choose a strip of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with a piece of Wild Wasabi. It’s adhered to the square and then they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the thanks from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set stamped in Blackberry Bliss. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles along with a piece of Rose Red to back it. One of the roses from the Artisan Embellishment Kit is adhered in the lower left with a Glue Dot and then the whole thing is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For little sparkle I adhered a few sequins from Doodlebug randomly with Crystal Effects. I have had the Painted Blooms DSP for a while and never realized just how pretty it is and yes, my obsession with all things stitched continues! LOL! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Hopefully it will have the desired effect and make you think warm Spring thoughts! As always, thank you for coming by today, have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mossy Slate Petal Tag

Well that was a quick Saturday! I managed to get some stuff done around the house in the morning and then around noon I went over and got Heather and we ran some errands. I had to got to BestBuy to return something and then Target to do the same. Of course you can’t go in Target just to return something now can you?! I did find a jacket on clearance for $20 so I had to have that! We went back to Heather’s and she shared some more of her delicious Creme BrĂťlĂŠe and some other sweet treats. I had some leftover pizza for lunch and then came home and worked on some projects. I skyped with Eva for a bit while I colored in some images for my card class. A good day, but it went way too quickly! I’m supposed to go into Manhattan this morning, I haven’t looked outside to see what lasts night’s weather brought! Guess I should take a peek… it’s not too bad. Now to take the train or drive?! Decisions!

Today’s card is a just because one. I was inspired my one that I saw on Pinterest. I used a color combo that I haven’t before too. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. In the middle of that is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack, also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. My tag is a piece of Smoky Slate, I stamped the Dictionary Background Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder to create the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is threaded through the hole and left extra long. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Smoky Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder on So Saffron and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch. The greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed on Mossy Meadow. The tag, flower and greeting are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the grays with the Mossy Meadow and I think that the So Saffron gives it just the right amount of pop! I hope that you like my card for today. Thanks so very much for taking a little time out of your day to come and see me! Have a super Sunday peeps! 🙂

Sigh… the meetings at work were not fun just as I had thought! LOL! I really don’t enjoy being trapped anywhere for an extended period of time! Not that anyone does! The weather here was nice yesterday, not too cold and sunny. I went to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte right from work and had to wear my sunglasses in the car! I turned the heat up really high and pretended it was Summer! Sad huh?! Renee got some more new goodies in and I spent much more than I should have! Gotta get ready for the next class! When I got home I had some dinner and then watched a few YouTube videos, I can get a little lost in YouTube. Do you find that when you watch one you just keep watching more and more?! I have to limit myself to YouTube only three times a week! LOL!

So, today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo384

I have been on a little bit of a pink kick lately and it shows no signs of stopping! LOL! My card base for today is Sahara Sand Card Stock. On the lower half of the card is a piece of the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits on a piece of Pink Pirouette to go across the middle. My panel is a piece of Pink Pirouette that Embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Pistachio Pudding. The tag is also Pistachio Pudding, the leaves are stamped in Pistachio Pudding from the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set and the top is punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, the tag is then adhered to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord is wrapped around the panel and tied in a bow. The panel is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is stamped in Pink Pirouette and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch. I stamped the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Sahara Sand and used an element from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut it out. Nice and soft and spring like, just what we need right now! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I always appreciate you stopping by and love to see your comments! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Happy Wednesday everyone! It was a little bit nicer around here weather wise yesterday, a tiny bit warmer which was appreciated! Nancy was back from LA and she gave me a video of Sam getting his first Grammy from where she was sitting. So cool to see it from another angle! Yesterday was another quiet night. Taylor came by and I made a few cards. I also made sure that I would have a little time to just sit and relax for a bit. See, I’m making an effort to do that more! Tomorrow I have a bunch of meetings at work, not my favorite way to spend the day. Oh well, soon it will be Friday! 🙂

We all know what Wednesday means… I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

    PCCCS131 DT Sketch 2-11-2015

I went with a simple, subtle card. Yes, it could be a Valentine but it doesn’t have to be! LOL! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Sahara Sand that covers the entire front. On top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla, I used the “Vintage” Stampin’ Spritzer and my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker to get my spatter. A piece of Sahara Sand 7/8″ Lace Trim is adhered around the back and the panel is then adhered to the card with Fast Fuse. I heat embossed a piece of Vellum with the Something Lacy Background Stamp and some Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder. One of the Labels Collection Framelits cuts it out and some Multi-Purpose glue adheres it to the lace. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Blushing Bride on a piece of Sahara Sand. I used the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and the Simon Says Stamp You Die to cut out some Blushing Bride. I used the same technique as I did the other day to heat embossed them multiple times with Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail Clear Embossing Powder. The heart is adhered with a Glue Dot and the you with some Multi-Purpose Glue to the greeting which is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the way the clear embossing give the die cuts an epoxy look all nice and shiny! I hope that you liked my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have done with the sketch and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by to see me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SUO Challenges 116

So remember yesterday when I said that it was raining, well I was wrong, it was freezing rain! I had to let my car warm up for 20 minutes before I could chisel the ice off of the windows and then skate to work! Who wants to find me a job somewhere warm? I really am over this whole Winter thing. I’m not meant to be cold! LOL! Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I came home after work and had dinner and then puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for bit and then I decided that I would relax for a while. I really do need to do nothing more often. It was nice to just be for a little bit last night.

Before we get to today’s post here are the weekly deals for this week:

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our shaped cards challenge. I don’t really ever make a shaped card, I don’t know why either, it was fun! I went with a heart shape, you know… for Valentine’s! I also haven’t made a shaker in a while. The base of my card is Real Red Card Stock. I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to cut out all of the hearts. The card itself is two hearts that I scored the top left on the back one and used some Fast Fuse to adhere them together. For the shaker part I cut out the background from a piece of the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. The front is two that I taped together and cut out from a piece of Basic Black. I also cut out a piece of Fun Foam instead of using foam tape or Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Window Sheet is also cut out and some sequins are sprinkled inside and the shaker assembled with Multi-Purpose Glue. The greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. Using the Fun Foam for the shaker was great, I got the idea from Jennifer McGuire. I was missing the shaker cards and hope that you were too! So there is my shaped card for the SUO Challenges blog. Click HERE to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have made and enter one of your projects in the gallery. Thank you for visiting today! Another weekend just flew by! It’s raining and chilly here this morning. I had a good day yesterday, I ran some errands with my friend Maureen and then we went to Friday’s for lunch. I came home and made some cards and then sat down to watch the Grammy’s. There were a few good performances, and some not so good! I was happy to see Sam win! He was robbed for Album of the Year though! LOL! Nancy from work was there and I told her to make sure and tell Sam that I said hello! LOL!

Well, it’s Monday and you know what that means… it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #231

I could have done another Valentine but I figured that I would take a little break! LOL! Today’s card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Real Red for the Background. A piece of Crumb Cake stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Crumb Cake and also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Whisper White punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I stamped it with the ampersand from the You Plus Me Stamp Set in Calypso Coral and tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine though the top. It’s also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with one of the elements from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used some clear foam tape to adhere it to the tag and that completes the card. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Monday! 🙂

  • Can You Case It 56

This is my second post for today! If you are looking for the Creation Station Tour post scroll down a bit!

    CYCI Header

Hi there! Yes, this is post number 2 for today! My friend Eva asked me to be a guest designer on her challenge blog and I couldn’t say no! More on that in a minute. So yesterday I drove into Manhattan and parked in the garage, between the snow and construction there were no spaces to be had on the street! My friend Kim and I went and had breakfast at the diner, I had a Belgian waffle and some bacon, and then I walked down to my friend Isabella’s to drop off her Stampin’ Up! order. She wasn’t there so I left it in the entryway and then walked back up to my car. A nice walk, 60 blocks! It was a little bleak and overcast but I did take this picture of 69th Street on my way back…

    69th Street

They did a better job of getting rid of the snow here than they did further uptown! I stopped at Starbucks and got a Venti soy no foam Vanilla Latte (my signature drink!) for the ride home which wasn’t too bad. I also snapped this picture of the bridge as I came across it, not too much traffic!

    RFK Bridge

See how cloudy it was, not a very nice day and it was actually snowing at this point and continued to do so for a few hours. My friend Sue came by and picked me up for lunch and we headed over to the diner out here. I had a Greek panini which was sort of like a gyro and was pretty good. We stopped at AC Moore and then came back to my place for a while. It was so good to catch up with her and we will see each other again soon! I watched a few YouTube videos and then went overt to see Brian and Kim for a while. When I got back home I realized that I had forgotten to make my projects for the Creation Station Tour so I did those, wrote the post and finally got to bed around 2:00! A long but really great day!

Now back to the reason for today’s second post! This week’s challenge over at the Can You Case It blog is a color one just perfect for… well… Valentines!

    CYCI 56

They are very forgiving at the blog too, you can use any product that you want and also like colors if you don’t have exact! I had the idea in my head for the card as soon as Eva asked me guest design, I just had to wait for a few supplies! As I have been doing a lot lately the card base is just a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Basic Black that I heat embossed the Something Lacy Background Stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on. For the greeting I used the new Hello You and the “Vintage” Expressions Thinlits to cut out some Real Red. I then heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder a few times. I heated the powder and then immediately put it back in the embossing powder and repeated the process a few times. They are adhered with 2-Way Glue to a heart that is cut from Vellum with the Hearts Collection Framelits. I used Clear Foam Tape to adhere the heart to the card and a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Red Sequins complete the card. I absolutely love the way the heat embossed words came out, they look like red shoelace licorice! I really hope that you enjoyed my second post and third card for today! Make sure that you stop by the Can You Case It blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have done with the colors and if you have some time make something and upload it to the gallery! • Fab Friday 57 & One Last Pic!

Oh yes, it’s Friday!! Woo hoo! Friday’s always make me happy!! I had a 2 1/2 hour meeting at work yesterday, that was fun! It also got a lot colder as the day went on and windy. We are supposed to be in the negative numbers tonight, thankfully I have my electric blanket that my friend Eva sent me! It’s like a warm hug every night! I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit playing with some of my new goodies and then made a few phone calls. Not an overly exciting evening but they all can’t be right?! I have one last picture to share with you from Leadership. It was taken after it had ended and it’s of Me, Maggie, Robyn and Nicole…

    Me, Maggie, Robyn & Nicole

LOVE them!! I think the only thing that I regret was getting on the plane to come back to NY! LOL! I so miss the warm weather!

So today I am over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge. We have been away for a bit but we’re back!! Here are the colors…

    Fab Fri 57 2-05-2015

Those look like the colors of love to me! LOL! Yes, another Valentine! To start off today’s card I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and adhered a strip of paper form the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack down the right side. The background is a piece of Watercolor Paper, I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Crisp Cantaloupe Ink to create the pretty gradient. The panel is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two more strips of the DSP are flagged and adhered along the bottom. The large Vellum heart is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits. For the LOVE I used the Little Letters Thinlits and some Real Red. The you is cut out with the Hello You Thinlits and they are both adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. A few strategically Stampin’ Dimensionals pieces adhere the heart to the background. Across the top are some hearts that I punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack from Calypso Coral and they too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A little Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen is brushed over all of the letters for a little sparkle. Yes, I know, I have made a lot of Valentine’s this year! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Please take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the other designers have done and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for sharing in my week of Leadership pictures! I hope that we all have a Fabulous Friday!! 🙂

  • Germaine’s Paper Pumpkin Class

Am I happy to be back in freezing NY… that would be a no! LOL! I’m glad to get to see my peeps again but I’m really missing the Florida sunshine and much warmer temps! I had a nice flight home last night, the plane actually left 10 minutes early and it didn’t take forever to get my luggage. Andrew picked me up and came in for a little while once we got back to my house. I will miss all of my friends, especially Maggie, Nicole and Brian, but I’ll see them again soon. As you can see I’m a little late today, I think I went to bed at 2:00am. I will also get all caught up on all of my comments today, yesterday I got caught up on my emails at the airport and on the plane, all 620 of them!! I needed a little vacation from it for a while!

Today I’m sharing the cards that were made at my friend Germaine’s Paper Pumpkin class. She was nice enough to let me play along with them last Monday and I had so much fun! I made three cards, Germaine made one and her friend Susan made four cards and the treat bags. So enjoy the pictures of the cards, they use supplies from the kit and some other punches, stamps and card stock. I hope that they give you lots of ideas as to what else you can do with the amazing little Paper Pumpkin kits! Enjoy!

Here are the ladies from left to right starting in the front, Dawn Walker-Randall, Dale Strileckis, Germaine Meilach, Barbara Jones, Mary Lou Kopinj
