SIP Challenge 29 – A Sketch!

I hope that you all survived your first day back to work! I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit. It had been way too long since I have seen her and we got caught up and I picked up some paper to make the cards for this month’s card classes. From there I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit and made my card for today. I spoke to Michael for a while and then had some spaghetti for dinner at Mum and Dad’s. Later on I took a ride over to see Heather and we watched the end of The Notebook and The Lucky One. She is a big fan of ABC Family! LOL! It was quite chilly here, especially last night, and I miss our warm December already!

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this week we have a sketch from Carolyn…

I got some goodies from Concord & 9th yesterday in the mail that I will be using for a class at The Ink Pad on January 29th so I decided that I would break them in! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock with a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper across the top. I stamped the Tree Ring Photopolymer Stamp in Soft Suede on a piece of Sahara Sand and cut it out with my Paper Snips. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The three flags are a piece of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, 7/8″ Natural Cotton Ribbon and a piece of denim from an old pair of jeans. They are all adhered to the card with Scor-Tape. I heat embossed the heart and love from the Tree Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut that out with my Paper Snips too. It’s adhered to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. For a little extra sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the tree ring. I love the stamps and all of the texture from the ribbons and denim! A nice masculine Valentine! Goldfish Bubbles Birthday

It’s the first weekend of the New Year and I have my friend Kim out with me! I went into Manhattan yesterday with Taylor and her friend Kiera and we spent the day at The Ink Pad. There was no traffic at all yesterday even when we got into the city and there was plenty of parking too! We had a good day and I even got to color an image that I used on today’s card! At 6:00 we headed back to the car and went uptown to pick up Kim. When we got back out to my house we decided that we would all go to TGI Friday’s for some dinner and then last night Kim and I watched the 1989 Tour on my Apple TV. This morning we are heading over to Kim & Brian’s for breakfast! A nice way to start off a Saturday!

My card that I have to share with you today uses that image that I colored while at The Ink Pad. I used it to make a nice simple masculine Birthday card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Scuba Ink to create my favorite backdrop and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and Tape Runner. My gold fish is a Leavenworth Jackson Rubber Stamp, I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black and the colored it in with Copics before cutting him out with scissors. He is adhered to the card with Foam Tape and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is brushed over his body. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins for bubbles and the card is finished! I do love that goldfish image and he looks so real colored in with Copics! Eskimo Glasses Birthday

Happy New Year peeps! I hope that you rang in the New Year with friends or family and that you had a great time doing so! I had a good day yesterday, crafted, FaceTimed with Andrea, ran some errands with Brian and then went over to Brian & Kim’s for the evening! We had fun just hanging out with the kids and the dog watching TV and laughing! I posted this quote on Instagram and Facebook yesterday and I think that it’s a great way to start off the new year…

We should all remember that! We have a new chapter to write in our lives and we should make the best one yet! I’m going to begin my year with a day at The Ink Pad!

I thought I would start the year off with a fun bright birthday card! I’m really loving the stickers and paper in the January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of the Doodlebug Polar Pals 6×6 Paper to the card slightly askew for my background. A piece of Solar White 80lb is stamped with the Hero Arts Notebook Page Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink and the the left edge is cut with the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edge Craft Dies. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Audrey Blue and Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I die cut a piece of the Recollections Purple Glitter Paper with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chic Glasses Dies and adhered it to the Doodlebug Polar Pals Cardstock Sticker with Multi-Matte Medium. She is then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid, Marshmallow, Cobalt and Aquamarine Sequins scattered around the girl complete the card! I love the little eskimo and doesn’t she look cuter with the glasses?! I hope that you enjoyed today’s cute little birthday card! Thank you so much for starting your year off with me! Another late morning! I have to say that I think that the reason that I wake up late is because it’s 86 degrees in my house! I need to do something with the heat situation! I’m cooked into a coma every night! LOL! I did have a very nice day with Sue yesterday, we made an ornament and went out to lunch at Panera. We also stopped at the shoe store and I got a new pair of boots! It was fun playing in her craft room, she has lots of stuff! When I got home I had some dinner and got to see Daniel for a bit. From there it was back to my house to craft for a bit and then I ran over to see my friend Maureen and then stopped by Target to pick up some essentials. I finished the evening with a little Skype session with Eva. She reminded me that it was the 100th challenge for Can You Case It so I had to make a card and that’s what I have for you today!

The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set to create a background on a piece of Solar White 80lb. The snowflakes are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Steel Blue, Hot Mama, Smoke and Thistle Ink. It’s adhered to a piece of Recollections Purple Glitter Paper and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Cloudy Sky and Hot Mama with the swirl stamped in Smoke on a strip of Solar White 80lb. That too is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My penguin is one of the stickers from the sticker sheet included in the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit and is adhered to the greeting strip with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish off the card! I love the nice mix of colors and that little penguins is just too cute! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the CYCI 100th Challenge! SIP Challenge 28 – Anything But Christmas!

It was a little chilly here yesterday and then it rained last night. I would like the 60 degree weather back now please! My day was nice and quiet. I was in the house most of the morning crafting and FaceTiming with Andrea. Taylor stopped by to take a nap on my couch and then in the afternoon I ran over to see Sue for a bit. She surprised me and got me a 2016 Sam Smith calendar! That was very nice of her, love it! After I left Sue’s I had some dinner at my parents with Taylor and then I came home and watched some TV. It’s supposed to rain here most of the day today and I’m going to head over to Sue’s again so that we can make some ornaments!

Today it’s time for the last Stamp, Ink Paper Challenge of 2015! I’m pretty much over Christmas and I’m sure that you are too so this week we have an Anything but Christmas theme…

I had some fun with a new stamp set from The Ton! The base for today’s card is Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of Recollections Adhesive Cork. I stamped another piece of Ivory 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink and then used the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies to cut it out. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord is tied through the top and I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The first part of the greeting and the coffee cups are from The Ton Hug in a Mug Photopolymer Stamp Set and are both stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. I stamped the latte art in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink and then used my Copics to shade it and add the dots. The final part of the greeting is cut from some Early Espresso using The Ton Coffee Word Die and adhered to the bottom right of the card with Multi-Matte Medium. You know how I feel about coffee so this is an awesome set and I love the way that the latte art looks with the Copics! Cherry Blossoms Lantern Birthday

Another fun filled day at The Ink Pad with Jane yesterday. After we closed up I made my way over to the Subway at Union Square and on the way I stopped in a looked around Urban Outfitters and Burlington Coat Factory. I’m obsessed with getting a new backpack, a really specific one. It has to be small but hold a lot and have a lot of organization inside! I have been looking for this backpack for a long time! LOL! Anyway, I stopped and got some pizza on my way to Kim’s and watched Kingsman: The Secret Service again while I had dinner. This morning I’m off to visit my friends Jon and Mary for a bit and then I’ll head back down to The Ink Pad for another fun day with Jane! I’ll make my way back home this evening, I’m going to see if Kim wants to have dinner before I go!

Today I have a card using some new Mama Elephant Sets! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with a strip of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape down the left side. The main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink on to give it that subtle blue color that I love so much! The images and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Lunar Extras Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black, along with the string for the lights, and colored them in with Copics. They are cut out with the Coordinating Mama Elephant Lunar Extras Creative Cuts and adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. My greeting is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink and the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A simple card but I love the way that blue background makes the images pop along with the strip of black tape! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! I thank you for stopping by today! Thanks Notecard Set

Ahh… the day after Christmas. I hope that everything that you got was exactly what you wanted and that you will not have to be returning or exchanging anything! I had a lovely Christmas! My brother, Erika and Daniel showed up at my parent’s around 12:00 along with Taylor. The first thing that my brother did was to take Daniel outside to take some pictures. I also took a few and here is one of the cuter ones…

He so damn cute with his little vest and collared shirt along with his tie! Love that little boy to pieces! He gots lots from Santa and the rest of the crew. His favorite was his Thomas the Tank Engine train and track that he got. He played with that for quite a while. We had a tickle war, one of my favorite things because he has the best laugh! Andrew and his girlfriend Kayleigh stopped by for a bit and then after my brother left I FaceTimed Tracey and got speak to a big part of the gang over in London! We had a very non-traditional Christmas dinner, home-made macaroni and cheese along with some ham, actually one of my favorites! After dinner I came home and crafted for a bit and then watched Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, very good just like the rest of them! Not a bad Christmas at all! I hope that yours was just as good! This morning I’m off to Manhattan for the weekend, I’m going to stay at Kim’s and hang at The Ink Pad, Saturday with Barbara and Sunday with Jane. Should be a fun relaxing weekend!

So after Christmas what’s the next card that we need? Why Thank You cards of course! I made a quick and simple set using a Winter stamp. I love when you can use a stamp for other things than what it was intended for! My cards are all Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. I stamped them all with the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Background Stamp, two with Simon Says Stamp Mint Candy Ink and the other two with Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink. Across the middle of each one is a strip of Recollections Silver Glimmer Tape. I used the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set to cut out some Black 110lb and adhered them to the cards with Multi-Matte Medium. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. Like I said really simple and that Falling Snow Background Stamp just looks like fun confetti! I hope that you like the set of Thank You cards for today’s post! A very Merry Christmas to you all! I had a somewhat productive Christmas Eve. I had lunch with Heather and then came back home and did some crafty things. After dinner I sat down and watched one of my favorite movies, The Holiday. Today I’ll watch Love Actually, another favorite! And yes, I was at Target last night at 9:00 getting some last minute things! It wasn’t too crowded so I was in and out in no time!

And there are a little less than two more days left until Christmas! Am I ready… nope! I got a few more things accomplished yesterday before I headed into Manhattan for a bit to see Isabella. It was a very rainy and damp day here yesterday and looks to be the same today, but it’s still nice and warm! Heather picked me up from the Hicksville Station with some Wendy’s and we ran over to Target to pick up some odds and ends. I stopped back home for a few minutes before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Tuesday! We had to do it early this week because Thursday is Christmas Eve! A good time was had by all as usual! I finished my card that I was working on when I got home and then was too tired so off to bed. Apparently I was really tired because I woke up late today!

The card for today is a simple shaker! I started off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On a piece of Solar White 80lb I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky, Green Leaf, Khaki and Fog Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb. To create the shaker I cut out the Hero Arts Large Mason Jar from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed the sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To the back I adhered a piece of Acetate and then a layer of Foam Tape. Some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter is added on top of the image and then I lined it up and adhered the two piece together. A strip of Recollections Sliver Smooth Glitter Paper is adhered to the base and then the shaker panel is adhered next to that. A pretty quick and simple shaker to make but still a fun card to give! NYC Coffee Ornament

Yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! There was a steady flow of customers all day and one of them just happened to be Julianne Moore! Talk about nice! Such a sweet lady and just as amazing in person as she is in the movies! Anna and I had some Hummus & Pita Co. for lunch and it was quite tasty, for dessert some Starbucks! Still loving that Holiday Spice Flat White! I also got myself a Starbucks Christmas ornament, the black and gold one! See isn’t it nice…

I love the NYC on it! I also managed to stay awake on the train on the way home and got off at my correct stop! Upon arriving home I had a little crafty time and then watched some TV. I’m back in the city again tomorrow to see my friend Isabella for a bit!

My crafty project for last night was another ornament, I know, I’m a little obsessed, but they are so much fun to make! The backing for this one is Ivory 110lb Card Stock that I cut out with the Papertrey Ink Basic Backer Die. Another piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Craft Dies. The skyline is cut form Black 110lb Card Stock with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die and then again with the Nested Circle for a perfect fit. The greeting and coffee cups are form the Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped heat embossed the greeting with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum also cut out with the Nested Circles and the coffee cups are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added some Uni-Ball Gold Gel Pen and Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the black cup and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the red one. I adhered the greeting to the rest of the layers with Multi-Matte Medium and the cups are adhered with Foam Tape. A sprinkling of some Gold Chunky Glitter before I used more Multi-Matte Medium to adhere the ornament half and it’s finished! Here’s a little peek at what it looks like before it’s all put together!
