Gold Mint Shining Star Birthday

Hi there! I aim to be a bit more productive today than I was yesterday! After my lazy morning Michael and I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. The weather was perfect yesterday for a nice ride in the convertible. When we finished there we headed to Friday’s for some dinner and then came back to the house and saw Taylor for a bit. We watched a little TV and then Michael went back to Sue’s and I made a card and puttered around a bit before calling it a night. Let’s see what today brings!

Oh, I almost forgot! Michael made a super clean card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th sketch! You can check it out by visiting his blog HERE!

The card is a somewhat simple birthday card, I wanted to use a new die that Michael had gotten me! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I put a strip of Little B Washi Tape down the right side of a piece of Mint Macaroon and adhered that to the card. Another piece of Basic Black is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The star is that new die I mentioned from Spellbinders called Shining Star. I cut it out from Gold Foil Sheet and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Mint Macaroon and also adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins completes the card. I love the Mint Macaroon and Black together and that star is just so cool! I hope that you enjoyed today’s birthday card! Pals Paper Arts 264

A good afternoon to you! I had another lazy morning, I’m starting to like them too much! LOL! Just hanging around talking and watching YouTube videos with Michael. Yesterday after work I came home and made my card for today. Michael got to me a little later than planned so we decided to go out and get salads from La Bottega and watch a movie. We watched The Holiday with Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black, it’s one of my favorite movies and Michael had never seen it. He liked it too! Today we are going to go to street fair in Westbury and then who knows. I hope that your weekend is off to a good start!

The card that I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

This was another one that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! That card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Bermuda Bay with a piece of Vellum over the top that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Feathers Embossing Folder. Three strips of The Paper Cuts Blueprint Curious Metallic Card Stock are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I stamped the three feathers from the Mama Elephant Fair Feathers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and then cut them out with the matching Mama Elephant Fair Feathers Creative Cuts Die. The feathers are also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in The Pool to Navy Ink. I used the matching Mama Elephant Heartfelt Greetings Creative Cuts Dies to cut the greeting out and then cut out three more from white adhering them on top of one another for a little dimension. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Seattle Mix Sequins are adhered to the feathers. I love the Heartfelt Wishes Set, it’s so nice to have all of the different languages to say thank you! Freshly Made Sketches 200!

Hey all! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous here lately but we are supposed to have some rain over the next few days. I guess that we are due. My off-site visit yesterday for work was actually not too bad and I have another one today. Let’s hope that one goes just as well! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael. He was doing another one of his baby book classes and the ladies just love them! After we closed we headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and then stopped at my house for a bit. Taylor was here when we got home, which is nice because I haven’t seen much of her lately. My brother, Erika and Daniel came home late last night and my mum text me to tell me that Daniel pointed to my house when they were leaving and he said “Uncle Justin’s house”! My little buddy is back and I can’t wait to see him!

Today’s card is for a very special challenge! Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th one! WOW! That’s a lot of sketches…

A super simple one too! I have been playing along since sketch #38! I decided that I would challenge myself to make my card while I was at Scrap-A-Latte, step a little outside of my comfort zone! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of PaperCuts Pink Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of PinkFresh Studios Happy Things 12×12 Paper. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Chevron Border Die to cut out a darker pink piece of card Stock to cover the top of the patterned paper. My love is cut from the same dark pink and some black with the Carta Bella Loves Dies, I adhered them to each other, a little offset, and then to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Three hearts are also cut out from the dark pink using the heart from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. I covered them with some Cotton Candy Stickles. When I got home I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins and some My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing Enamel Dots on the top to give it a little more oomph! I love that PinkFresh Studios Paper, it’s so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th challenge! Thank you for paying me a visit today. Paper Players 258

Ahh… the middle of the week. It was nice here again yesterday, I snuck out of work and went and had lunch with Michael, a nice way to break up the day. It was a quiet evening, I had dinner and then watched a little TV and made a card. Today I have to go to one of the other sites for work, that should be fun. Can you feel my enthusiasm?! LOL! Only two more days to go!

The Paper Players has a fun challenge this week, clean and simple beach…

I got some new stuff that I thought would be perfect for it! Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered with a piece of Bermuda Bay. My background is a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 Dreamy Paper Pad. I thought a shaker would be fun so I used the Simon Says Stamp Hello Sunshine Frame Die to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I inlaid the sunshine back into the frame and then adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back. Some Foam Tape along the edges seals in my mix of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Spring Mix Sequins. The sun is also from the same die and is cut out from some Daffodil Delight and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. A simple bright fun shaker card that definitely makes me think of the beach! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players beach theme! Pals Paper Arts 263 & Card Class Cards!

Another beautiful day here on Long Island and a happy Saturday to you! Yesterday after work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of card class with Michael. We had some Red Robin burgers for dinner with Nicholas, yum! LOL! The class was lots of fun as always, the Friday night crowd is a little rowdier than Thursday. After class I came home and worked on my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael while he gives his baby book class and then we are off to Manhattan tonight to stay at Kim’s again. Tomorrow we will be working at The Ink Pad so come on by if you are in the area! Speaking of The Ink Pad, if you take a little detour and go over to see Jenny of at Craft Test Dummies she has a post and a video about her little visit to The Ink Pad and you can see what she picked up!

No on to my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I went with a nice simple card using one of my favorite sets from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set on a piece of Rich Razzleberry in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the strip across the lower half of the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzaz on Solar White 80lb. I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut it out and adhered it to the card with a strip of Foam Tape. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes off the card. I do love that butterfly and since it’s Photopolymer it’s nice and easy to stamp the three different colors. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Paper Players 257 & More Manhattan!

Well, the week is moving right along, it’s Wednesday already! It rained here most of the day yesterday, quite heavily in the morning but the sun did finally make an appearance later in the day! Little Daniel was at my mum’s so I got to spend some time with him, he actually says Uncle Justin now! We played with some Lego blocks for a little while and then had dinner. It’s his mum Erika’s Birthday today, a very Happy Birthday Sis! After dinner I made a card and then Michael stopped by for a bit before going to meet his brother. I ran to Target and that was pretty much the day. I do have a few more pictures from this past weekend’s Manhattan adventure with Michael. More really cool street art!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

For some reason when I saw this I thought Summer! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and across the bottom is some Old Olive that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. My kite is cut using the Simon Says Stamp Kite Shaker Die from a piece of Crumb Cake and a piece paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The sun is cut from Daffodil Delight using the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Creative Cuts Dies and also adhered with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Summer Die and some more Daffodil Delight for my greeting. I also cut out some Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the die cut to pop it up. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sun and greeting with a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is done! I love that kite especially with the DSP! Freshly Made Sketches 198

And a very happy Saturday to you! I’m at The Ink Pad for the morning and then I’m going to wander around a bit. Later I’ll meet up with Michael for some dinner and then we are staying at my friend Kim’s again. Last night we took a really long walk along the Hudson, like 10 miles in total long! The sunset was beautiful and the weather was perfect. From Battery Park we walked to ChinaTown and had dinner at one of the best Chinese Restaurants, Wo Hop. If you are ever in Manhattan you have to go there, but not the one upstairs you need to go to the one downstairs! Here are some pictures from our wandering last night…

So today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use! I kept the card extremely simple, not even any stamping! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower portion is a strip of So Saffron. The two panels are pieces of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad. I backed one with Lost Lagoon and the other with Tangelo Twist. The bottom one is adhered to the card with SNAIL the one with the fun saying is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Some Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix and Tangerine Sequins scattered across the card finish it off nicely! Sometimes a simple card can be bright and fun, don’t you think?! SIP Challenge 8 – Designer’s Choice!

I’m not even going to go into detail about my Monday. It was a typical Monday though, so you can imagine! LOL! When I got home last night I made a few cards and then headed over to Sandy’s house for Card Class. It’s been a while since we have done one of those and it was great to see everyone again! Michael and Sue joined in the fun too! After that I came home and finished up a few things before calling it a night. How was your Monday?

So, today is Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are giving you free reign again with another Designer’s Choice…

It so nice to just get to sit down and make a card without any rules isn’t it?! My card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the flower form the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Crumb Cake. The image is colored in with some Prismacolor Colored Pencils, just a few shades of yellow and green. I tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Rustic Jute Button Twine around the panel and then adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed again in Hero Arts White on a piece of Hello Honey and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix and Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered around the flower and complete the card. I love the way colored pencils look on Crumb Cake, it really makes the image pop! Paper Players 255

SORRY FOR THE LATE POST, GODADDY WAS HAVING ISSUES THIS MORNING!

Ahh yes, once again today is my Friday! It was a hot one here yesterday and is going to be even hotter today. I’m not complaining, I do love the summer and you know that if I never saw snow again I would be fine with that! My day was pretty standard. I came home after work and little Daniel was at my parent’s. He was a little cranky but managed to give me that sly little smile! When I got home I Skyped with Andrea and then made some cards. I’m off to the CKC Show in Lancaster with Michael and Sue tomorrow, that should be loads of fun! Sandy stopped by last night for a bit to pick up some things and chat, we are all going to her card class on Monday, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to one of those, should be fun! Looking forward to some quality time with my peeps!

Ahh, is that a tag! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is an awesome piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Pack. All of the stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set. The hello is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black right on the background. My tag is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I stamped the flip flops from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics and the cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. The summer is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Words Dies from a piece of Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. I used some Ranger Multi-Medium to adhere them to each other, slightly offset, and then adhered them to the tag with some more Multi-Meduim. I applied a generous dose of Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to make it pop! A piece of American Crafts Primio Brights Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and then it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give the card some sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins along the rays on the background. I really love that background paper, it’s so cool! SIP Challenge 7 – Colors & Still More Manhattan!

Monday, why must you be so… Monday?! Yesterday was a little bit of a let down after the weekend that I had! LOL! Work was more irritating than usual, there are two new people moving into my office and I have seen a side of one them that I never knew existed and to be honest am sad that I have. After the torture I came home and had some dinner and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley playing with some new goodies that I got. I also Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and even snuck in some TV. And yes, I have still more pictures form Manhattan. These are from the walk that Michael and I took along the river. There were some amazing sunsets over the weekend!

I really did love my weekend! They should all be just like that, I would be the happiest person in the universe!

What better way to start off a Tuesday than with a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge?! This week we have a color challenge from Michael…

A nice summery palette, wouldn’t you agree?! I know that you will be surprised but I got another nautical set in the mail! LOL! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Soft Sky to serve as the background for my little scene. The waves are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies from Pacific Point. I flipped the negative of the cut out and adhered it on top of the other one with Foam Tape, I thought it looked neat! The extra large sun is cut out of Daffodil Delight with the Simon Says Stamp A2 Card Curved Edge Die and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. My sailboat and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set. The boat is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, I brushed some Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sails and the greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketchy Banners Dies. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix Sequins give the card a little sparkle! I really am stuck on the nautical theme lately but I just love the sailboats and waves!
