Mojo 276 & Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! I had a very busy day yesterday, it was definitely a Monday. Work was crazy and it didn’t stop when I got home. I hope that you all had a better day. So, I have some more announcements for you today. Stampin’ Up! has just been rolling them out these past few days! Not that it’s a bad thing, after all they are celebrating their 25th Anniversary. Wow! That’s a lot of cool new product! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This time around we have a sketch from Carole Burrage…

I had a good idea what I was going to use when I saw the sketch. I have been looking through some magazines for some new color inspiration and I saw one with Rich Razzleberry, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White (that’s not what they called them but that’s what I saw!). The base of my card is Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. For the background on the left side I embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip and Old Olive with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The panel on the right is created using some Whisper White and an image from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect alignment! For the main panel I cut a piece of Whisper White to 2 1/2″ x 3″. I measured in 3/4″ on each side on the 3″ side, top and bottom, and measure down 1 1/4″ on each side of the 2 1/2″ side. I then used my Paper Trimmer to cut the corners off and made a large hexagon. The images are from the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set**. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and the flowers are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. They also hold the butterflies from the same set in the same color that I punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch and placed on the right panel. Finally, the greeting is from the Vintage Verses Stamp Set** and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. The colors bring to mind the garden and I love the worn look of the images form the Bloomin’ Marvelous Set. Create with Connie and Mary 234

Morning all! Ahh… Saturday how I love thee! I’m off to the city this morning to visit my friend Kim. We are going to the movies later to see the Life of Pi and after that maybe we’ll get some Korean food, yum! What are you all up to today? It’s supposed to be in the 50’s here and tomorrow we are supposed to get up to the 60’s! Now that’s more like it! I’m sure that it will be short lived but appreciated none the less.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For this week’s challenge they have given us a color challenge…

A very different color combinations for me. I do love Midnight Muse and I wanted to do something a little different. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the leaves from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set** in Midnight Muse down the right side of the base. The background and the Pink Pirouette rounded squares are both embossed with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder**. The larger rounded squares under the Pink Pirouette ones are Midnight Muse. I rounded the corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and the Pink ones are rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. The “petals are adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I used the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set stamped in Midnight Muse and rounded all of the corners of it with the 3/16” Corner Rounder. I really like the retro modern feel of the card and I enjoyed the colors together more than I thought I would. I hope you like my Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card for this week. Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #24

Hello everyone! So here we are at Wednesday, almost there! The weather has been much nicer around here lately. It has been in the 40’s and I think it’s supposed to go up to the 50’s over the weekend. I’m making a list of things that I want to do when it gets warmer outside. Does it show that I can’t wait for the spring?!?!

If it’s Wednesday that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week we have a simple sketch…

I wanted to use some new products from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration promotion that starts January 22, 2013. I also haven’t tried the Creped Filter Paper that I got from the 2013 Spring Catalog so I incorporated it into this card. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. The background is a piece of Creped Filter Paper. I used my Glue Stick to adhere it to the card base. For the strip of Paper I used a piece from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. The flags are Soft Suede, the bottom one has some Metallic 3/16″ Brads on it. I used the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set** for the image and greeting. I stamped both of them in Midnight Muse and used the 2 1/2″ Circle punch to punch out the Penny Farthing. The large button is one of the Silver Basic Designer Buttons and I threaded some Whisper White Bakers Twine through the holes and left the ends long before adhering it to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. This card would be great for a masculine birthday card and I really like the texture that the Creped Filter Paper gives the background. Fab Friday 09 & Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday! I have a ton of projects to get done this weekend, let’s see if I’m successful in my endeavor! What kind of fun stuff are all of you up this weekend? Paper Players GD Love #127 - Version 2

Since the 2013 Spring Catalog is out now I think you need some more peeks at the Sale-A-Bration goodies! Today’s card, for Fab Friday, features two stamp sets from it and a punch. 🙂

The base of my card is a piece of Summer Starfruit Card Stock. The background is created with a piece of Bravo Burgundy and the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the greeting I used the Vintage Verses Stamp Set** and stamped it in Bravo Burgundy. I did the scored scallop and dots using the new Simply Scored Borders Scoring Plate. I like the way that you have all of the different ones to choose from and the clear guide makes it easy to use. Before adhering the greeting panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I rounded the two top corners with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. The little hellos are from the Pretty Petites Stamp Set**. I stmped them in Summer Starfruit and punched them out with the Petite Curly Label Punch**. They are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think that the Summer Starfruit and Bravo Burgundy work quite well together and I love the Vintage Verses! Mojo 274 & Sneak Peek

Happy 2013 everyone! I hope that you all had a very nice New Years Eve and that we all will have a safe, happy and prosperous New Year! I went to my friends Brian & Kim’s house and we watched Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve. Izzy and I had some hummus, I love when little ones eat stuff like hummus. It was a nice evening spent with some great friends, I can’t think of a better way to start the new year!

My first post of the for the New Year is my Mojo Monday card. This week we have a nice simple sketch from Carole Burrage…

A nice simple sketch deserves a nice simple card. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip Card Stock and the background is a simple piece of Marina Mist. The patterned paper is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* along each edge and a Sponge Dauber with some Chocolate Chip Ink to make them stand out. A piece of Early Espresso 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip and another piece is knotted towards the top. The greeting is from the Cross My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. The butterflies, from the same set, are stamped in Marina Mist. I backed the circle with a piece of Chocolate Chip that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think that best wishes is a good greeting to start off the New Year. I hope you enjoyed my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you very much for your first visit of 2013! Snowy Owl Birthday

Happy last day of 2012! I can’t believe the year is almost over, like hours away from being over! I want to take a minute to thank all of you for visiting, leaving comments and just being awesome. People from over 115 different countries have stopped by! Wow! A special thanks to Canada and Australia for so many visits! At the beginning of the year I set a goal for myself, to have a post every day. I’m extremely happy to report that I accomplished that goal! Today marks my 366 post for 2012! I also am happy to report that I have had over 100,000 visitors this past year. So, for me this has been an amazing year and I have all of you to thank!

For today’s post I have a birthday card that friends of mine asked me to make for their mom. I was told that it should have a winter theme and that she likes owls and here is what I came up with.

The base of the card is Sahara Sand Card Stock and for the background I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The branch is form the Take Care Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with my Paper Snips. The little owl is punched out with the Owl Builder Punch from a piece of Sahara Sand and his eyes are Whisper White, Pool Party and Basic Black. His little vest is a teeny tiny sneak peek at the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper**. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount him to the card. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party. A nice simple card with both of the requests added. It was good to use the Owl Punch, he was feeling a little neglected! I hope you like the birthday card as much as my friend’s mom did. Thank you for you visit and I’ll see you next year! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 149 & Sneak Peek

Good day peeps! Yesterday was a busy day in Manhattan. It snowed huge flakes for a little while, I looked like a snowman walking down the street at one point. It rained after that… not the best day weather wise in the city from recent memory! I still had a good day and got to spend some time with my friend Kim! We went to the diner for an early dinner and then just relaxed. I have come to the conclusion that I am unable to just sit and relax in my house, I always feel like I need to be doing something so apparently I need to go elsewhere to relax! 🙂

Enough babbling, now on to today’s post which is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a simple sketch from Margaret Moody…

A really nice simple sketch. I needed some bright colors after yesterday’s dreary wet weather and I think this card fits the bill. The base of the card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. For the strips of paper I used two different patterns from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper* and adhered them to the base with SNAIL. The circle is punched out from Pool Party with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I embossed it with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The flowers are from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set*. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry and cut them out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. The centers are stamped in Summer Starfruit and are punched out with the Itty Bitty Bits Punch Pack. Both the flower and centers are mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Bloomin’ Marvelous* Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the Large Oval Punch and also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Swallowtail Christmas Sneak Peek

Happy Saturday peeps! I’m off to Manhattan this morning and I’m taking the train in because of the snow they say we are going to get. The only good thing about the train is that I will get some reading done. I’m trying to get through the second Hunger Games book Catching Fire, I usually only get to read on the train and I haven’t been taking the train in a lot so it’s taking me a long time to get through it! Hopefully I can finish it today.

My post for today is the Christmas card and gift bag that I gave my mum. I have mentioned before that she is a big fan of butterflies. When I saw the Swallowtail* in the new 2013 Spring Catalog I knew I had to have it. The base of the card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I stamped the Swallowtail Stamp* in Raspberry Ripple on Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I like that the stamp is so large that it goes off the card stock. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with some Gumball Green Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the bag I used a small size white bag that I got from the craft store. I stamped the Swallowtail Stamp*, again in Raspberry Ripple on Whisper White Card Stock. The image is the same as the card but I stamped it in Gumball Green ink this time. My mum loved the card and gift bag. This is a great simple elegant card and could be used for so many occasions with a simple greeting change. I hope that you enjoyed the Swallowtail card and bag. FRIDAY! FRIDAY! FRIDAY! A very good Friday morning to you! I have finally recovered from all of the junk that I ate on Christmas day. I do love some chocolate and I made some Chocolate Walnut Fudge that was not bad if I do say myself! LOL! What are you all up to this weekend? I’m off to Manhattan tomorrow morning, I think I will be taking the train in because we are supposed to get some snow. Have mentioned before that I’m not a fan of the white stuff? I hope it will be minimal and gone fast.

For today’s post I have my Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. I was one of their top three picks for last week! Thank you very much ladies! This week we have a color challenge…

Nice and cool colors and and some bling! I went with a Valentine’s theme for my card. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and for the background I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to “ticket” the corners and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. The main image is from the Love Heart Single Stamp and is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Full Heart Punch. Under that is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper that I cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies*. The heart is adhered to the Glimmer Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The larger heart under that is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and I used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack* and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. The tickets are from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set* and are stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. For the smaller hearts I punched out some more Silver Glimmer Paper with the Small Heart Punch. All of the elements are adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the cool color combination and the ticket stamps are one of my favorites out of the Spring Catalog. I hope that you liked this week’s card for Create with Connie and Mary. Mojo 273 & Sneak Peek

Good day to you all! I do love a short work week, but then again, who doesn’t? I’m looking forward to this weekend and to another short work week next week too! The last two weeks of the year are the best! Do you all have some fun New Year’s Eve plans? I’m going with some friends to a another friends house, it should be fun. It’s so funny that I live so close to Manhattan yet I have no desire to go into Times Square for New Year’s. Must be the crowds that keep me away! I’m rambling, on to more important things now.

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week our sketch is provided by Teresa Kline…

My card features some more new products from the 2013 Spring Catalog. The base of the card is Summer Starfruit Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Baja Breeze and stamped it with the Netting Background Stamp in Baja Breeze. All of the images on the card are from the By the Tide Stamp Set*. The coral on the circle is stamped in Summer Starfruit and the fish is stamped in Basic Gray. The strip of Basic Gray Card Stock has a piece of Natural 7/16″ Trim Ribbon* that I adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip. The seahorse is stamped in Summer Starfruit and the image next to it is stamped in Baja Breeze and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the fish and the seahorse. The fish is mounted to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the seahorse and image are adhered to the ribbon with Mini Glue Dots. For the greeting I used a stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. It is mounted to a piece of Basic Gray that is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is a great masculine card, especially for the outdoorsy type! If you have a fisherman in your life, well this would be perfect!
