Golden Christmas Skyline

It was a windy day in Manhattan yesterday but still a very nice day! The sun was out and it wasn’t too cold. I took the train in and then the subway up to see my friends Mary and Jon again. After that I took the subway down to The Ink Pad and spent a little time with Anna. From there it was back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. I came home and called my friend Maureen to see if she wanted to take a ride with me to get a pair of boots. We stopped at the shoe store and Wal-Mart before getting some pizza. The pizza place is right next to A.C. Moore so I had to stop in there and I ran into my friend Melissa and her two children. We chatted for a bit and got caught up. While browsing through the rest of the store I spotted the Heidi Swapp Minc Mini Machine and it was only $39.99, well I could;t pass up that bargain! LOL! After I got home I sat down and started playing with it and that’s what inspired my card for today!

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the greeting from the “Vintage” Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. The skyline is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb that I covered with toner from my laser printer by printing a black page. I then used the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts to cut out that toner covered paper and then ran it through the Minc Mini with a piece of iCraft Gold Deco Foil. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins scattered around the greeting and it’s finished! I LOVE that skyline covered in the gold foil! Hi there and welcome to Saturday and the start of the weekend! I had a nice day yesterday! Got my haircut and then came home and did a little organizing and crafting. I had to run to Michaels and Target and then I went over to my parent’s to see little Daniel. I got him some new colored pencils because his other ones kept breaking and I was a little tired of sharpening them! After dinner I met up with Heather and took a ride with her out to see Patti and Tom and the kids. We had a nice visit and then I spent a little time at her house while she packed. I’m off to the city again this morning to see some friends and then stop by The Ink Pad to help Anna with a few things. Should be another great day!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I loosely interpreted the sketch so I could use a new stamp and die set that I recently acquired! The card base is Neenah Solar White 100b Card Stock. My background is created with a piece of Solar White 80lb and some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. I stamped the greeting from the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Photopolymer Stamp Set. It’s part of Jennifer McGuire’s Share Handmade Kindness Campaign and 25% of the profits got to the Kindness Campaign to help end bullying. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red, Lake Shores, Scuba and High Dive and Hero Arts Cup ‘O Joe and Butter Bar and used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. The branch and the feet are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and the bird, wing and flower are adhered with Foam Tape. I love that bird and the way he looks on the background! Fab Friday 77

And the end to another week is upon us. Mine was a good one and I hope that yours was too! I stopped by Heather’s for breakfast yesterday morning with Brian before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte. I watched the store for Renee while her and Angie did some “shopping”. I worked on some of my projects for this month’s card class and also updated the computer. From there I headed back home and went next door to my parent’s and played with Daniel for a while. He really is a smart little boy! I know I’m biased but you can have a conversation with him and he just loves to talk! He knows his colors already too! Little Genius! After we had dinner I came home and made a card and then headed back over to Heather’s for a bit. She’s going to Florida with her boyfriend on Saturday and won’t be back until Wednesday. I needed to get in my time before she goes! LOL! This morning I’m off to get a haircut and then I have some errands to run. What are you all up to today?

I used that giving thanks die again, I love that die! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder for my background. Next we have a piece of Blackberry Bliss that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. On top of that is another piece of Ivory 110lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks Card Die. The image is from the Hero Arts Fall Trees Stamp Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the tree in Soft Suede and the leaves in Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. The card is then adhered with some more Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bronze Sequins complete the card. A simple and colorful Fall thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for our Fab Friday color challenge! Paper Craft Crew 170

Already halfway through the week! Like they promised yesterday it rained here all day. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte and I spent some time with Renee. We went over this month’s sets for class and I picked out some paper. After I got home I watched a little YouTube on my Apple TV and then finally started to straighten up the Stampin’ Galley. There is still a lot more that needs to be done but I finally did start! I went over to my parent’s for dinner and Daniel discovered that he really likes corn, he had about four helpings! Back to my house and some craftiness before watching Limitless and then speaking to Carolyn on Skype for a little bit before calling it a night.

Today I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

I played with some Hero Arts goodies to make my card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used another piece for the background. It’s created with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry and a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The flowers are form the Hero Arts Let Love Grow Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Hot Mama, Green Apple, Green Leaf and Hero Arts Unicorn Ink right onto the background. Next up are a strip of Blackberry Bliss and a some Vellum, both are flagged and adhered to the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Butterflies Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. Some Simon Says Stamp Duckling, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini are used to stamp it and it’s cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. A few pieces of Foam Tape hold it in place. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cuts. I cut it out from a piece of Black 110lb and Black Fun Foam, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. There has to be some sequins so I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix and Summer Mix randomly around the images. I needed a nice bright card to help chase away all of the rain and I think this one is perfect! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Another busy but great day yesterday! I headed into Manhattan around 7:45 and found a parking space on 89th between 2nd and 3rd. I walked over to 89th and West End Avenue through the park and didn’t get lost! I think it’s the first time that I have made it through Central Park without getting lost! LOL! I have a mental block with getting through the park for some reason! I stopped for some Starbucks before meeting up with Jon and Mary for a bit to catch up. After, I walked back over to the car and headed back out to Great River for Daniel’s Birthday party. It was at George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant. The food was delicious and it was nice to see everyone. After the party I stopped by my brother’s new house, it’s nice and really big! From there it was back home and time to veg for a little bit. Tomorrow morning I’m back into the city to help Anna with some stuff at The Ink Pad. Here is a nice picture of the reservoir in Central Park…

Hmm… it’s Monday, the start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

As soon as I saw the square with the circle I immediately thought shaker! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background and the panel I used two pieces of paper from an old My Minds Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas. My banner is a piece of Real Red. For the shaker I cut out two pieces of Ivory 110lb and a piece of Acetate with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. One of the Ivory pieces then has a circle cut out of the center with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the Acetate to the back of the one with the circle cut out, added two layers of Foam Tape to the back, filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix Sequins and Gold Seed Beads and then adhered the other rectangle to the back. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive then holds it to the card. The poinsettia and leaves are from the Hero Arts October Monthly Kit and are stamped with the inks that came in the kit except the center of the poinsettia which is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Duckling Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered the poinsettia and the leaves to the shaker portion with Foam Tape and SNAIL. Finally, my greeting is stamped in Real Red from the Simon Says Stamp Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower left corner. I’m still loving the poinsettia from the Hero Kit, so glad that I got it while it was still available! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Pawesome Birthday

Phew! I must admit that I’m a little tired this morning! A happy Sunday to you! Yesterday morning I had breakfast with Kim and Maggie at the diner near Kim’s new apartment. After that I made my way downtown. I had a fun day at The Ink Pad with Barbara! I got play with the new Silhouette Mint Machine! You can make your own custom stamps in minutes with it! It comes with software to design the stamp and then you “print” it in this little tiny machine. After it comes out you adhere it to a block and the ink it. After a little while the ink settles in and it stamps about 100 images before it needs re-inking! I think I need one of those! LOL! So much fun! When I got home last night around 9:00 I had a piece of toast for dinner and then made two cards. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to visit my friends Jon and Mary for a bit then it’s back out to the Island for Daniel’s 2nd birthday! I can’t believe that he is two already! This weekend they moved into their new house and right at the end of the street is the beach! Here is a cute picture of Daniel from Saturday…

Seeing as today is Daniel’s birthday I thought I would post the card, I don’t think that he reads my blog yet, I hope not! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out a piece of Daffodil Delight and some Cucumber Crush with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The Cucumber Crush has a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Hills and Slopes cut across the top and is adhered to the Daffodil Delight piece with SNAIL and then that is adhered to the card with more SNAIL. I stamped the Happy Birthday in Memento Tuxedo Black from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower right corner. The You are is from the Simon Says Stamp You Are Pawesome Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut the word pawesome out with the Simon Says Stamp Cat and Dog Pawesome Craft Dies from a piece of Real Red and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My cute little dog is also from the Pawesome Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to his nose and tag on his collar and adhered him with SNAIL to the card. Lastly, I die cut a pice of Early Espresso using the Simon Says Stamp Paws Craft Die and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. I love the dog and the “Pawesome” greeting, it makes for a fun little boy birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for checking in with me today! Joyful Snowmen and The Ink Pad!

Hello and welcome to the start of the weekend! The weather in Manhattan was absolutely gorgeous yesterday! It was in the 70’s all day even last night at midnight it was still 70! Oh how I wish this was going to the be the winter! LOL! I spent the day at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara and then had my first class there featuring Lawn Fawn. We fit 10 students into the store, it was cozy but fun! You can see all of them in the pictures below diligently working on their cards. I had a great time and I hope that they did too! Can’t wait for the next one!

Today I have one of the cards that we made last night. It’s a fun simple holiday card. The base is Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of the Lawn Fawn Ice Blue Bokeh 12×12 Paper. I used the Lawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out two more pieces of Solar White 80lb, one is left as is and another is cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. That one is adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the full size piece with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All of the images are from the Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Brother Scan-n-Cut to cut the images out. My greeting is the Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy Die cut from Red and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I hope that you e enjoy the card as much as the class did! Thank you for checking in today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Hmm.. what day is today?! Why it’s FRIDAY of course! I had a busy Thursday. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit before coming back home to have dinner with my parents, Daniel and Jason. After dinner I ran over to BJ’s with Heather and then a quick stop at Michaels before briefly coming back home to make my card for today. Then it was off to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday with Stephanie. Today I’m off to Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad before my card class there this evening. I’m staying at Kim’s tonight because I’m going to go back to The Ink Pad on Saturday for a bit too! I have a busy few days ahead! I like them like that though!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I did a little more watercoloring, this time with Distress Ink! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I used some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine to spatter the front and set that aside to dry while I worked on images. I stamped the heart from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark on Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. It’s colored in with Mermaid Lagoon and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, I colored the markers onto a clear block and the used a wet brush to fill in the grid. I used the Simon Says Stamp Hearts and Spoons Dies to cut out the heart and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers On My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Abandoned Coral and Fossilized Amber. I spritzed the stamps with water using a Mini Mister before stamping them onto some more Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the heart with more Foam Tape. I stamped the leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Twisted Citron and also cut them out with the Coordinating Dies, they are tucked under the flowers. My greeting is from the I See You Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the flowers with more Foam Tape. Finally, three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered to the heart and finish the card! I love the fun combination of bright colors, definitely not my usual! Paper Craft Crew 169 – Sketch

Happy mid-week peeps! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday! A high of 72 degrees and nice and sunny! I wish the weather would stay like this! I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down in the car which was really nice! I helped her out with a few things and I’ll be watching the store for her today. She’s taking the day off to watch her grandkids! I think that they say that it’s supposed to be nice through the end of the week, hopefully another ride to the store today with the top down too!

Back on my Wednesday schedule and that means that it’s time for the Paper Craft Crew and this week we have a sketch…

The sketch looked very birthday to me but I went with Holiday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and adhered to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Night of Navy 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. Next up I used a piece of Solar White 110lb with some Stick-It on the back along with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake, I adhered a piece of Vellum in the center and then used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Vellum and yes, I cut it out with my Paper Snips before using some more Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. For a little added sparkle some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are randomly added and that finishes the card! I love that Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and I’m always a fan of blues for the Holidays! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! SIP Challenge 21 – CAS Christmas!

I had a nice quiet Monday. I crafted for a bit in the morning and then went over to Brian & Kim’s to meet up with Heather for lunch. We had Subway and got caught up. When I got home I spent a little time on FaceTime with Andrea and then took a quick run to A.C. Moore and the bank. I had dinner with my parents and Taylor and then came home and finished up some cards that I have been working on. The rest of the evening was spent watching a little TV. This morning I have to run over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and then who knows!

Since it’s Tuesday it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I went super clean and simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered two strips of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Pad from top to bottom and right to left to form my ribbon. The bow is from the The Ton Stamps Holiday Bows Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks Ink. The second layer of the stamp is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder and the it’s cut out with the Coordinating Dies. My tag is cut from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and the greeting is from an old Paper Pumpkin Set. I heat embossed that in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine though the hole. The bow is then adhered with the tag string under it. Very clean and simple but with a lot of sparkle and I love the pop of red! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!
