SIP Challenge 19 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

Hello! I had another one of the I slept in late mornings! Have to stop those before they become a habit! LOL! Yesterday I spent the day watching the store for Renee. I played with lots of goodies and got a few projects done. I also spoke to Andrea on FaceTime, my parent’s stopped by for a visit and I got speak to Michael for a while. After I left I stopped by my friend Louis’ and we went out for some dinner before I headed home. I also got to FaceTime with Jules for a bit before heading to bed. Not a bad Monday! 🙂

So if it’s Tuesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Halloween Tic-Tac-Toe Board from Sandy!

I made my card while I was at the store yesterday, I chose the top row but didn’t have my sequins with me so I added some Glossy Accents to his eyes and beak! The card base for today is Recollections Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is cut from a piece of Shale Card Stock using the Tim Holtz Birch Trees Thinlits Die. I used a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to give it a little definition before adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The scared little bird is from the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy Stamp Set, the hat and jack-o-latern are from the Crazy Things Stamp Set. I colored them all in with Copics and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. His eyes, beak and wings are cut out separately and they are adhered with Foam Tape. Some Glossy Accents on his eyes and beak along with a little Sakura Black Glaze Pen on the jack-o-latern give him a little more life! He is adhered to the card with Foam Tape along with the greeting that is cut from Pumpkin Pie using the Stampin’ Up! Little Letters Thinlits. I thought that the BOO worked well because he really does look scared! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Mojo Monday 420 & The Store!

What a lovely and fun weekend I had! Yesterday I went into Manhattan to meet up with my friend Kim, she is staying at a friend’s watching their dogs for the weekend on West 92nd Street. We left the apartment and headed out to have breakfast at Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table on 93rd and Columbus and what a delicious breakfast it was! From there we walked over to 96th and Broadway, there was a street fair going for 10 blocks so we walked though and came across this stall selling these really cool t-shirts! After speaking to the owner, Brant Fuse, we bought four between the two of us. They are really cool and you should go and check out his web site HERE. I got the Shoyu T-Rex, he’s one mean looking bottle of Soy Sauce! After we walked the length of the fair we stopped back at the apartment before heading down to 48th Street to see A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. What a funny and well acted performance that was! Here are Kim and I outside the theater…

After the play I headed back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. Like I said an excellent weekend indeed! Today I’m watching Scrap-A-Latte for Renee while she takes a long needed break and visits her wonderful son Nicholas for his birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! 🙂

Remember that thing that I worked on with Brian and Andrew this past week? Well today is the day that I get to tell you what it was! Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday! The fabulous Julee has given us another great sketch…

I used another recently acquired set that I have been dying to try out! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a wide strip of that fun shiny black paper and a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the front of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Exclusive Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped directly on the tag in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive Ink. I stamped the flowers on another piece of Solar White 80lb in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Schoolhouse Red Ink. The flowers are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I threaded a pice of “Vintage” Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and then I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord around it. The tag is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I flagged the right side before adhering it to the tag with a thin strip of Foam Tape. I’m really loving the layered stamps and these ones are great! Manhattan Wishing Night Skyline

What a lovely day I had yesterday in Manhattan with Grace and her two daughters Toni-Lynn and Tracy! I met up with them at The Ink Pad and from there we headed over to Elephant & Castle for lunch. It was so nice to get know them, especially after speaking to Grace for all of these years on this blog! We finished lunch and Grace wanted to do a little shopping at the store so we headed back. She picked up a few Lawn Fawn sets and we got to speak to Anna for a bit. Here are the four of us…

After we had finished at The Ink Pad we headed over to Chelsea Market and picked up some Fat Witch brownies. If you have never had them you need to make sure that you try them, they are delicious! From there we walked along the Hi-Line for a while. There are always new things to see along there. Here is a picture looking out between some buildings and if you look really closely in the middle you can see the Statue of Liberty…

Love that last one, it’s a redo of the famous Kiss picture of the Sailor and the Nurse!

So as you can see we had a very nice time yesterday and it was so great to get to meet Grace and her lovely daughters! I can’t wait to see them again!

I did pick up a few new goodies from The Ink Pad too and I used one of them to make today’s card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and then took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create the night sky. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then die cut another piece of Solar White 80lb that I also blended with the same Distress Inks with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die and adhered that to next to the greeting with Multi-Matte Medium. SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere the skyline to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bermuda Blue and Marshmallow Sequins are adhered along the bottom of skyline for a little sparkle and complete the card! October Lawn Fawn Card Class!

Happy Saturday peeps! I had a good day and a fun evening yesterday! In the morning I went and got my hairscut and then went and had an eye exam and ordered some new contacts. I had to stop at Michaels before coming back to my house to meet up with Andrew for a bit. He helped me with my project that I have been working on and we got the first part finished! More on that tomorrow! Around 4:00 I started to make my way over to Scrap-A-Latte for night two of card class. Renee and I had some things to discuss and we had some dinner. Class was a blast as usual, my friend Danielle came for the first time and had a great time! Everyone shared their supplies with her and she will be back next month! I really do love the class, everyone is so nice and we have such a fun time! Can’t wait to get started on next month’s cards! This morning I’m going to head into Manhattan to meet up with Grace! We have spoken to each other here on the blog for over two years! I’m so excited to finally get to meet her in person!

Fab Friday 75

Hi there and a happy Friday to you! I had a busy but good day yesterday! I hung out at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara. I helped Anna with the window in the morning and then Barbara with some on-line stuff in the afternoon. Around 4:00 I headed back to Penn to catch the train out to Babylon where Taylor and her friends picked me up and took me to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of card class which is always a good time. This morning I’m going to get my haircut and then an eye exam so I can get some new contacts. After that Andrew is going to stop by and help me a little more with my project that I’m working on and then it’s off to the store for the second night of card class! Yay!

Today is also a Fab Friday and this week we have a fun color combo for you…

I did see Halloween when I first looked at the colors but then changed direction! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a strip of Cherry On Top Designer Washi Tape along with a piece of Bermuda Bay. My Flowers and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Tangelo Twist and the outlines with Memento Tuxedo Black before using the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Designer Flowers Craft Dies to cut them out. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Black and the left side is angled. I adhered the flowers and the greeting to one of the PinkFresh Studios Happy Things Acetate Cards with Foam Tape and used more Foam Tape hidden behind them to adhere them card to the card! A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card. I love the bold pop of the flowers against the Bermuda Bay and the acetate card is just cool! I had a nice Wednesday, how about you? I worked on some projects in the morning and then went out to make an appointment to get an eye exam and some new contacts on Friday. I had to go over to Scrap-A Latte to cut for class and on my way over I stopped by Heather’s to catch up with her for a bit. I did manage to get most of the cutting done and I stayed in the store while Renee went and got her hair done. Angie stopped by and we had a nice long chat and not soon after she left it was time to lock up and head over to Hicksville to meet Danielle at SmashBurger for dinner. After we ate we stopped by the mall so that Danielle could get a few more things for her Halloween costume. She is going to be Wonder Woman and let me tell you Linda Carter would be jealous! LOL! Today I’m off to Manhattan to spend a little time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and Anna. From there I’m back out to the Island for tonight’s card class. Taylor is supposed to get me from the Babylon train station and then hang with me at class and drive me home. We’ll see how that goes!

I had picked up a few sets at the Mama Elephant event on Sunday and decided to use the Charmed set for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base today is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a thin strip of Neenah Desert Storm down the left side. All of the elements and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and they are all adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina and Sparkling Clear Sequins scattered about complete the card. I love the simplicity and bright but not overpowering colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you very much for paying me a visit today! Yet another nice day again yesterday but the weather men say that that might be it for a while. I hope they’re wrong! LOL! Brian came by yesterday to help me with a big project that I’m working on. I’ll tell you more about it next week! We ran over to Monty’s to grab some pizza for lunch. I spoke to Michael for a bit when we got back and after Brian left I worked on some projects and then went next door and played with Daniel. We had dinner and then back to working on some projects before enjoying my one TV show, Limitless. Let’s hope that this one stays on!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

It took me a while to see past the traffic light colors and come up with Christmas! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock that is cut to 4 1/2″ and the front is covered in a piece of Cucumber Crush that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Squares. A piece of Real Red is cut out with the Small Stitched Squares and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL to serve as my background. To create my little “scene” I cut out some Silver Foil Sheet with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Ovals. The gingerbread men are from the Lawn Fawn Oh Snap Photopolymer Stamp Set, the rest of the images are form the Lawn Fawn Love You A Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set. I colored them all in with Copics and then used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. All of them are adhered to the “tray” with SNAIL except the mug, I used Foam Tape for that. For the greeting I cut out some Solar White 80lb with the merry christmas from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees Craft Dies and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My tray is adhered with SNAIL. For little added interest I put some Glossy Accents on the candy canes and coffee in the mug and some Black Glaze Pen over the eyes and mouth on the gingerbread men. Some Enamel Dots from Recollections around the greeting complete the card! I think that Santa will be happy to see that got two of each treat don’t you?! SIP Challenge 18 – Sketch!

I know that I keep saying it but it was an absolutely gorgeous day here yesterday! I went into Manhattan in the late morning to see my friends Joe and Penny. Seeing as I’m always early for everything I got to sit in the middle of Broadway for a little bit and enjoy my Venti Vanilla Soy Latte from Starbucks. On my way back to Penn Station I call my friend Kim to see if she had gone to lunch already and she hadn’t so we met up and got Subway and sat in a park near her office. You have to make the most of this lovely weather because before you know it it will be gone! When I got back home I worked on some projects and then later on in the evening I went over and hung out with Heather. We ran to Target for some necessities and then I came home and watched TV for a bit before calling it a night! Here is a little picture of my view in the middle of Broadway…

The background is a piece of Recollections Black 110lb with a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum down the middle. I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My fun clock is cut out from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Clock Shaker Craft Die. The bells are cut from some Silver Foil Sheet. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the Window Sheet, White backing and a piece of Black Fun Foam. My Happy Birthday is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the pieces together right after I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Flat Sparkling Clear and Gold Confetti Sequins. NYC Twinkle Ornament

Ahh… Sunday. I slept in a little this morning, I’m not a fan of it but you need it ever so often! Yesterday was a very fun day indeed! Sandy and I headed into Manhattan around 10:00, there was some traffic so it took us about an hour and a half to get in. I did manage to squeeze into a parking space just down the block from The Ink Pad and we stopped there first so Sandy could meet Barbara and Jane and do a little shopping. Barbara recommended that we go to Elephant and Castle (which happens to be a stop on the London Underground!) for lunch. We had a delicious brunch and it was a nice, typically tiny NYC restaurant. From there we headed over to the Mama Elephant 3rd Birthday and Holiday Release Party. I got to meet and chat with all of the nice people from Mama Elephant and they were awesome. Simon Says Stamp had sent a few people too and I got spend some time speaking to the lovely Kathy from The Daily Marker.

She showed me some fun new techniques and mentioned that she has been seeing Michael’s projects for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge on Instagram. Mama Elephant also had lots of stamp sets and dies for sale including some of their new Holiday release so I picked up a few things! They had raffles and The Ink Pad had given them a Gift Certificate so they were nice enough to let me pick the number and give it to the winner! After the event was over Sandy and I headed over to The High-Line and then took a walk through Chelsea Market before setting off for the car and heading home. What a nice way to spend a Saturday!

My card for today features one of the new stamp and die sets from the release and I LOVE it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm. I stamped the branch from the Mama Elephant Twinkle Towns Photopolymer Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow for the needles and Soft Suede for the branch. The branch is filled in with a Copic. My ornament and NYC skyline is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the coordinating die. I colored it in with Copics and then stamped the string and bow in Encore Silver Metallic before adhering the ornament to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the same die set and is cut out from some Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black. I adhered them to each other a little offset and then to the card with 2-Way Glue. To give the illusion of lights I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver and Red Sequins in the branch. I LOVE that little NYC scene in the ornament, how perfect for the day yesterday! Layered Butterfly Flutter

Hi there and a good Saturday to you! Yesterday turned out to be a nice day for the most part. We had nice bright sun all day and then around 6:00 it started to rain. I did get some top down time so it’s all good. I went over to Heather and we went to Monty’s for lunch while we were there I saw Danielle’s boyfriend Derek and said hi. After lunch I came home and worked on a few projects and then stopped by my Parent’s to see Daniel for a bit. He was vacuuming with the Dust Buster and wouldn’t give it back! Around 7:00 Anthony and Bill came by and picked me up and we headed to Friday’s to meet up with Marissa for a better late than never birthday dinner for me! It was a great time and by the time I got home I was ready for bed! Today I’m off to Manhattan with my friend Sandy for the Mama Elephant Release Party downtown. That should be lot’s of fun! We are going to head in a little early and walk the High Line for a bit and have some lunch! What are you up to today?!

Today I have a simple card using a stamp set that has been sitting on my desk for a while! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Neenah Desert Storm. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb. All of the Butterflies are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Hot Mama Ink, two of the large ones directly on the background and then one large and two small on a separate piece of card stock. The other three are cut out with the matching Hero Arts Color Layering Butterfly Frame Cuts along with the bodies and antennae that are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. The background is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I adhered all of the bodies with some Multi-Matte Medium and then adhered the three cut out butterflies to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is also stamped in Black. To finish the card, a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Ballerina and Orchid Sequins are adhered with more Multi-Matte Medium around the butterflies. The layered colors in the butterflies are so neat and I do love that they have matching dies! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you, as always, for coming by!
