SIP Challenge 174 – Trick or Treat!

Hello friends! How was your Monday?! Mine was pretty good. The kiddos behaved themselves, you can’t ask for more than that! When I got home I finally used my InstaPot that I got to make some rice pudding. It was quick and easy and turned out great! I’ll have to find some more things to make in it. There are hundreds of recipes on Pinterest so that should be too hard! 😀

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I’m not much of a Halloween fan so I went with Fall for my card. To create my background I used a piece of Bristol Smooth Card Stock with my Mini Ink Blending Tools to add Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door Distress Oxide Ink. It’s splattered with a little water. I stamped the Thankful from the Concord & 9th Thankful Leaves Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Fine Onyx Black and then adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My leaf is cut from a piece of Copper Glitter Paper from the Concord & 9th Summer Glitter Paper Pack using the Concord & 9th Thankful Leaf Die. I adhered it to the card with Glue Tube. For a little added sparkle I dug through my stash and found some Neat & Tangled Festive Fall Sequins. Love the Distress Oxides on the Bristol Smooth! A fun simple fall card! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Trick or Treat Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and share your card with in the gallery! Thanks for spending a little time with me today! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! 🙂

TGIF Challenge 179

Hi everyone and a happy Saturday to you! I had a nice day with Daniel and Tristan. Daniel had picture day at school so I made sure that he looked all spiffy before he left! Last night I went over to Jim’s for dinner, he made homemade pizzas and they were delicious! Not sure what I’m up to today but I’m going to see if I can squeeze in some crafty time! 😀

I was playing around the other day with Distress Oxides and and made two backgrounds, one on Solar White 80lb and another on Bristol Smooth. I ended up using the one on the Bristol Smooth to make a card. I noticed that they have a background challenge over on the TGIF Challenge and I think this card fits the bill!

Here are are the two backgrounds side by side, the one on the left is Solar White 80lb and the one on the left is Bristol Smooth…

I made them by using my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink. To get the spots I flicked some water onto the panels and then dried them off with a paper towel. For my greeting I used the Concord & 9th Hearts & Love Dies to cut out a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic and Gold Metallic Vellum. The thin love is adhered to the outline with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with Kool-Tank Clear Foam Tape. The hearts are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. Super simple card but I do love those Distress Oxide Inks for making a quick and fabulous background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the TGIF Challenge! Thanks for spending some of your Saturday with me! 🙂

Stuck on You – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

Hello again! I’m back with my December Solo Post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! I have the distinct pleasure of sharing a sneak peek of one of the sets from the December Concord & 9th release with you today! You can also see more peeks of today’s set over on the Concord & 9th Blog!

To start my card I pulled out a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock and used my Mini Ink Blending Tools to add Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon in a gradient starting with the lightest at the top and getting darker as I got to the bottom. The panel is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Stuck on You Dies to cut out a piece of Garden Green for my cactus and Cajun Craze for the pot. From the Concord & 9th Stuck on You Photopolymer Stamp Set I stamped the pot in Onyx Black. Along the bottom of the card I stamped the x pattern in Onyx Black along with the greeting in the upper left corner. The pot has tabs on the sides so I added some Scor-Tape to them and a piece of 3M Foam Tape in the middle. My cactus is adhered with E-Z Runner and the pot over the the cactus. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins for a little sparkle and the card is done! I love the way that dies cut in the needles on the cactus and the pot has that nice dimension to it!

We are getting ready to start our next challenge on December 9th, be sure to come back to see what the rest of my talented teammates have to inspire you! Thanks for stopping by! Grateful Amethyst Leaf – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

Happy Thursday peeps! I had a nice day yesterday with Sue. We got a lot accomplished and went out and had a nice lunch. There is always more to do so I’ll be heading back over again some time next week, I do love a productive day! Taylor stopped by in the evening and we had dinner with my Parents and after that some TV, binge watching Arrow at the moment and really liking it! Today I’ll catch up on This is Us and maybe I’ll get to some of the cabinet doors! 😀

It’s time for my Solo Post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! We featured and Ink Only Challenge for last month so I did a little ink blending on today’s card! One of my all time favorite images is the leaf from the Concord & 9th Lace Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Bristol Smooth Card Stock. I used the Coordinating Die to cut out the negative from a piece of Masking Paper and used my Mini Ink Blending Tools and some Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord Distress Ink to color it in. After I removed the Mask I added the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine is spattered over the card and while that dried I cut out the grateful from a piece of Gold Glitter Card and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I love the purple and blue hues in the gold leaf and never underestimate the effect of a little ink spatter!

I hope that you like the card for my October Solo Post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! You can also see this post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! SIP Challenge 117 – Watercolor!

A cloudy day but not too bad. We are to get some of the latest tropical storm later today and tomorrow. I got a lot done in the morning yesterday and even more in the afternoon! Heather and Taylor both stopped by and I decided that it was high time that I fixed the broken faucet in the kitchen so we went to the new Home Depot and picked one up. I have to say that changing a faucet is definitely not one of my favorite things to do, no room to work under the sink but I got it done in about 45 minutes! Last night Heather came back and we ran to Bead, Bath & Beyond. Today I have to find some things to do in the house again! 😀

I have the pleasure of sharing my Design Team card with you today for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I was definitely inspired by the graphic for this one! To begin I smooshed some Mermaid Lagoon onto a piece of Acetate and spritzed it with some water before adding it to a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. I repeated the same process with Wilted Violet and again with Mermaid Lagoon. Because I’m impatient I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying! The flower and leaves are cut from Gold Mirror Card using The Ton Petal Cut Peonies Standalone Dies and are adhered to the panel with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I added the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is stamped in Onyx Black. It’s from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. I adhered it and some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Sea Breeze, Gold and Ocean Spray Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium and the card is done. I love the delicate die cut and watercolor background with the unexpected “label” greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We hope that you will pay a visit to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and share your masterpiece with us in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and have a great Tuesday! 🙂

OSAT July Blog Hop – Very Vintage!

Another nice sunny day and I managed to be productive again! I got a few things done in the morning and watched a little TV. Jim came by after work and we had Chinese for dinner and watched Maleficent, still love that movie! I also ran over to Heather’s for a bit before calling it a night. Today I have lots more computer related stuff to get done. No TV until it is! LOL! 😀

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from the clever Jeanna Bohanon’s blog, welcome! This month we have a Vintage Theme! I’m not very good at vintage but I did have a lot of fun making my card!!

I started the card by choosing a piece of paper from the Prima Jodie Lee Butterfly A4 Paper Pad and I used the Tim Holtz Mixed Media #2 Dies to cut out the upper left corner. It is adhered to a piece of Early Espresso with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The butterfly is cut from another piece of paper from the same pad and a piece of Solar White 110lb. I coated the white with Versa-Mark and dipped it into my Hero Arts Copper Embossing Power and heat embossed it. Some more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive adheres the two butterfly pieces together. My greeting is from the Papertrey Ink Think Big Favorites Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper onto a piece of 65lb Vellum. I folded the edges around the back of the background and adhered it to a card base Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The butterfly is adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape and just a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins complete the card. I do love that paper and the Mixed Media Die along with the butterfly! Makes for a fun card!

Snowy Summer Mountains

Hello and a happy Saturday to you! It rained a little here yesterday and was sunny too, just couldn’t make up it’s mind! I managed to get some crafting done in the morning and then had dinner with my Parents. Taylor came by again, I guess she really does like spending time with me, I must be a cool dad! LOL! We ran some errands and talked for a while. Today is Tristan’s first birthday party! I’ll be sure and get some pictures, even I have to steal them off of the shared album! Should be a fun time! 😀

I was missing the lake this weekend and somehow this card came out of that! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Marina Mist. I used the Hero Arts Snowy Drifts Fancy Dies to cut out two pieces of Garden Green. To give them a little more definition I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Pine Needles Distress Ink to the tops. I then heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The two pieces are then adhered to the card. That lovely frame is cut from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb with the Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame Die and is adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. I love when you can use a winter set to make a nice summery card! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! I thank you for visiting and wish you a superb Saturday! 🙂

Magical Pink Birthday

Despite the overcast weather and a little bit of drizzle in the afternoon I had a really nice day in Manhattan yesterday! The train was empty on the way in and on the way home! I went and visited my friends Jon and Mary in the morning and then walked from 86th and West End Avenue to 57th and Lexington Avenue. I got my steps in yesterday, a total of 6 1/2 miles! I wandered around Midtown and then went to visit my friend Carolyn and got to meet her parents! They were very nice people! After the city I stopped home and dropped off my backpack and went over to BK Sweeney’s to meet my friend Jim for dinner. I also ran into my friend Melissa, so great to see her! After a little coffee at Starbucks and some dessert I called it a night. I’ll be happy to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today, I have missed it!

The card that I have to share with you today is one that I made for one of Taylor’s friends for her birthday a while ago. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor card and spritzed it with a little water. My flying unicorn is from the Waffle Flower Magical Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the wings. The magical is cut out using the Waffle Flower Magical Word Die from a piece of Silver Glitter Paper. My background is adhered to the base with E-Z Runner and the unicorn and word with Multi-Matte Medium. It’s definitely a very girly card, perfect for the sweet 16’s recipient! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for stopping by! Have a very nice Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 475

Is it really Monday already?! I was extra tired at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Not sure why but I needed a nap! It was so windy and cold here yesterday too, like 50mph winds, crazy! It even snowed a little last night! 🙁 Taylor did come up to the store to keep me company and make her grandfather a birthday card. I tried to work on some things and did manage to get a few things done but not as much as I had wanted to. Dinner with my Parents was good as always and after I stole a donut from them and came home and had a little coffee and watched some TV. The power keeps going out here for a second every so often lately, it’s getting really annoying! I think that I need to get a battery backup for my computer, not good to have it keep shutting off! Today I will finish up what I wanted to get done yesterday. Renee will be back in the store today, she has her Home Decor class today. 😀

I always look forward to Monday’s because it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

mojo475

I used quite a few different products on my card for today! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Classic Cherry with the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background heat embossed in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The main panel is a piece of Prima Sweet Peppermint No Peeking 12×12 Paper backed with a piece of Rose Chintz. I heat embossed the Hand Drawn Snowflakes again onto a piece of Yellow with Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and flagged the right side. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th O Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto another piece of Rose Chintz backed with a piece of Herb Garden. For my snowflake I used the Tim Holtz Paper Snowflakes Thinlit to cut out a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Card and adhered it to the card with  a 3D Foam Square. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins! It’s definitely an eclectic mix of goodies and not my usual style but I do like the way it turned out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks you so very much for starting your week off with me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Holly Day Ornaments

What a super busy day I had at the stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! The ladies were there for the crop and a bunch of them decided that they would make cards. I demoed the MISIT and helped them out with some Altenew and Concord & 9th Stamps. I also snipped dies apart and played with Evelyn’s new Gemini Die Cutting Machine. Renee’s daughter Krista stopped by to make some things for a Bridal Shower that she is a part of next week. I helped her with the cards and Renee helped her with the Bridal Bingo. After work I came home and met my Parents and we went to Applebee’s for dinner. When I got back to the house I watched a little TV and then called it night. Today is day 2 of the crop… more fun ahead! 😀

For today’s craftiness, I have a relatively simple card that I made using some Hero Arts sets! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the pine branches from the Hero Arts Happy Holly Days Photopolymer Stamp Set in Green Hills and Forever Green directly onto the card front. My ornaments are from the Hero Arts Ornaments Stamp & Die Combo, I stamped them in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto some Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. They are colored in with Mermaid Lagoon, Mustard Seed and Wilted Violet Distress Inks and an Aquawash Waterbrush. After they dried I cut them out with the coordinating dies and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Before I adhered my Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Amethyst, Lemon and Sea Breeze Sequins I stamped my greeting in the lower left from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in more Intense Black and the card is finished! I love the ornaments, especially “watercolored”! I hope that you like my card for today! Thanks for your visit! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂
