Paper Craft Crew 243

Hi! What’s going on by you?! I had a very productive day yesterday. I got a bunch of emails sent out and puts some plans in motion. Sometimes it’s hard to put things in perspective, but eventually you are left with no choice. The rest of the day was fun, Jim came by and we went out a got a late lunch and managed to finish the crafty project that we have been working on! Feels good to have it done. Now we’ll start working on some new ones! Today I have to run over to the Store again and then I have a bunch of projects to get started! 😀

It’s Wednesday so time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I wanted a nice simple card and I haven’t used feathers in a very long time! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card with the ends flagged to it and then got to work on my center panel. The images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Dream Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them and two extras onto a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Card with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. They are colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. The panel is adhered to a piece of Sugarplum and then to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Peacock with the left end flagged is adhered along the top of the panel and the two extra feathers are cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the right side of the Peacock Strip. I added three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and a heavy coat of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the feathers to complete the card! I do love the feathers, especially in the teal and purple! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for coming but today! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Florals!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post for today! We have a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog for the month of May! This time we ask you to create a a card with some florals on it!

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th All About You Dies to cut out the YOU from the card front. That lovely gold die cut at the top is cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Concord & 9th Detailed Blossoms Die. The two flowers are from the Concord & 9th Enjoy it All Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink. I cut the out with the Coordinating Dies. Next it used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some more of the Ombre Ink to a piece of Solar White 110lb and cut out the YOU and for from that. The YOU is then cut out from some more Gold Mirror Card. I closed the card and used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere all of the die cuts. I then stamped the Happy Birthday on the inside and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the front to finish the card. I LOVE That Detailed Blossoms Die, so intricate and delicate looking! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Single Layer Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has done to inspire you and we would love for you to share your card with us in the gallery! SIP Challenge 98 – Kid’s Birthday!

Hey all! Hope your week is off to a stellar start! I had a busy morning, I ran over to the Store to see Renee for a bit, came back home and packed up some orders, went to the Post Office and then watched some more of Blindspot! Almost through the second season! This morning I have some cleaning up to do and then I’m going to have a little lunch with Jim. 😀

I’ll have two posts for you today! This one is for the new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

Kid’s Birthday cards are always easier to make with a little Lawn Fawn! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Moonstone Blue that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts. I used the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders Lawn Cuts to cut out three piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered them to the card. My images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and then cut them out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. Mojo Monday 496

Happy Monday! I had myself a little adventure yesterday! Heather and I drove up to Nashua New Hampshire to pick up her new car. We had a nice weather on the way there, it took a little longer to get things finished than we had hoped but in the end it all worked out. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for an early dinner, had a little rain in Connecticut on the way back but all in besides the fact that being in the car for 8 plus hours is a lot we had a good day! This morning I have a bunch of orders to get mailed out and I need to stop by the Store too. 😀

Today’s card is brought to you by this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

I turned the sketch on it’s side! To start my card I heat embossed the Hero Arts Thank You with Flourishes Wood Mount Stamp in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic. To my card base of Ivory 110lb I adhered two strips of Copper Metallic with the ends flagged and on top of that is a piece of Black. The panel with the Thank You is adhered with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. To give the card some shine I added some Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins. Not a very complicated card but I love the mix of metallics and the nice bold Thank You! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card! Stop by the BLOG and see the inspiration that the rest of the Team has come up with and let’s see your card in the gallery! I thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Special Day Florals – W Plus 9

I thought that I was going to have a nice relaxing Saturday but then things got busy! I ended up taking a trip into Manhattan to see my friends Jim and Diane and then I ran down to The Ink Pad to see Anna. By the time I got back to Penn Station it was 7:00. I got a text from my friend Chantal telling me that she was at my friend Carol’s out in Babylon for her annual Kentucky Derby Party and would I stop by. I haven’t see Carol in over two years so I took a ride out there. It was so good to catch up! I got home around 10:00 and sat down to make a quick card for today’s post… an hour later and it was finished! LOL! So much for quick! This morning I’m headed up to Nashua New Hampshire with Heather to pick up her new car! Now there is a road trip! 😀

My “quick” card that I made really didn’t take that long to make, it was deciding what to use that took the time! I settled on one of my all time favorites from W Plus 9! This set has dies that are solid so I always cut out the paper with the Coordinating Dies first and then do my stamping. All of the floral images and greeting are from the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Peachy Keen, Lobster, Sunflower, Freshly Cut Grass, Noble Fir, Fresh Lavender, Sugarplum and Black Licorice. The greeting is stamped onto another strip of Solar White 80lb. They are arranged on the card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and then adhered with Dot Runner and 3M Foam Tape. It’s a very simple looking card and that greeting would work for so many different occasions! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for checking in and have a simple but fun Sunday! 🙂

Glamorous, Unique & Wonderful – Hero Arts

It’s the weekend peeps! I spent most of the day indoors yesterday organizing my house! It was a good day to do it, it rained for most of the day. Thankfully Sue came over to keep me on task. I tend to loose focus easily when I’m not supervised, well, at least when I’m doing chores at home. LOL! I also got in some more episodes of Blindspot, still really enjoying the show. Some more organizing this morning and then I will need to get out for a little bit! 😀

As promised I’m having a little sale at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Online Store today and tomorrow! It’s for Blog readers only! Head on over to the Website and use discount code JKBLOG51730 to save 25% on all orders! Saturday and Sunday only! All orders will ship out on Monday! 😀

I have a fun twist on a Mother’s Day card to share with your today! I stamped the images from the Hero Arts April My Monthly Hero Kit in Onyx Black onto some Bristol Smooth Card Stock. To color them in I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and an Aquash Brush. Of course I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying a little, no patience! They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. On my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the hangers and greetings from the same set again in Onyx Black. After I adhered the images to the card with 3M Foam Tape I used my Signo Gold Gel Pen to add some dots to make a background and also added some to the waist of the purple dress. It needed a little more sparkle so I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Pen to give the dresses a heavy coating! It’s not a very complicated card and I do think it would make a fun one to give to Mum for her special day! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you so very much for visiting! Have a superb Saturday! 🙂

Hello Lovely Butterfly – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th

Hello and welcome to post number two for today! Once a month I get to do a solo post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog and share a fun project with you using some goodies from one of my favorite companies! You can also see this post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog. While you’re there check out all of the other fabulous cards that the rest of the Team has created as we get ready for our next challenge coming up on May 9th! Today I’m sharing another single layer card!

For my card base I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my mask I stamped the butterfly from the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set in Narwhal in and then stamped it again onto a Post-it Note. The one on the Post-it is cut out with my Scissors and placed over the one stamped onto the card. Next I stamped the floral cluster from the Hello Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set Again in Narwhal along with the greeting. To color the images in I used Prismacolor Pencils. I went a little darker on the butterfly to make it stand out a bit more. It needed just a little something so I added some random dots with a Gold Sign Gel Pen. These really are two of my favorite sets from Concord & 9th and I love the way the butterfly turned out!

I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and that you will give masking a try! Don’t forget that you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook! We are getting ready to start our next challenge on May 9th, be sure to come back to see what the rest of my talented teammates have to inspire you for that one!

Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 286

Happy Friday my friends! Yesterday was my last day at the Store for a while. I need to regroup and take a little time to do some other things that I have been putting off. The on-line Store will stay open and I hope to get some more products up there soon. I want to thank all of you for your continued support and for stopping by here everyday to see what I have been doing. This blog started off as a way for me to share my hobby and has grown into so much more and I really can’t express how much it means to me. So many of you take the time to leave a comment everyday and I have even had the pleasure of meeting some of you in person. Even the ones that I have never met I feel like I know personally. You all share so much with me and each other! I look forward to making my card and typing my post everyday and that will not change. As a thank you I’m going to have a little sale over the weekend just for you guys, more on that tomorrow! I finished off my day yesterday with a visit with my buddy Daniel and sweet Tristan. After that it was over to Jim’s for dinner with his Mom and daughter including a little Fro-Yo after and some TV. Today I have a lot of planning and organizing to do, fun Friday! LOL! 😀

I have two posts for you today. There will be another one at 11:00am! This one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A super simple card! I stamped the candles from the Concord & 9th Eat Cake & Celebrate Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with Copics. The Coordinating Die cut them out. A piece of Black is cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. I adhered the candles to the circle with 3D Foam Squares. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the greeting from the same set stamped again in Memento Tuxedo Black. All that was left to do was to adhere the circle to the card with more 3D Foam Squares! I do love a nice simple Birthday card, especially one that would work for anyone! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Come back at 11:00am to my Solo Post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Design Team! In the mean time enjoy your Friday morning! 🙂

Paper Players 342

Yes, it was another sunny but windy day here. I kept myself busy at the Store, got a card made and did a few other things. Some dinner with my Parent’s when I got home and then a few errands. My friend has been telling me that I need to watch Blindspot so I finally caved last night. I’m glad that I did! It’s a very good show! I don’t even want to admit to how many episodes I binge watched! LOL! Let’s just say that I’m well into season one! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

It’s a very simple card that uses a set that I have had for ages and never used! I’m sure that has never happened to you! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Ballerina Pink. I heat embossed the pretty filagree from the Mama Elephant Filagree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Kraft and adhered that to the card. My greeting is from the same set and is also heat embossed in gold. I used the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies to cut it out and adhered it to the card with a 3D Foam Square. To finish the card I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins. I’m sort of confused as to why it took me so long to use the set, I love the the stamp! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thanks for stopping by! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 242

Wednesday already! It was a quiet day at the Store. Renee did have a few people in to do some make up projects. I made a few cards and spoke to Sue. After work I came home, my Parent’s were out at my Brother’s watching the kids. Jim came by and we went for a nice long walk on the bike train again. On the way back we stopped and got Zorn’s for dinner. We worked on the crafty project, we are almost finished, and watched a little TV. Today Renee is off taking care of last minute baby shower things so I’ll be alone. I’m going to try and focus on getting things done! 😀

Since it is Wednesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I did a card with a nice ink blended background! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Pale Tomato, Dark Quartz and Soft Vanilla Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb and set is aside for a little while to dry. Of course after about 10 minutes I got impatient and sped up the drying with my Heat Tool. After it was completely dry I used my Powder Tool and then stamped the images from the Hero Arts Dreams are Made Photopolymer Stamp Set In Versa-Mark and heat embossed them in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Next I used the Hero Arts Floral Border Fancy Die to cut out a piece of Deep Blue. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a strip of Vellum that is adhered around the back of the blue die cut. I added some 3M Foam Tape to the back of the blue die cut and adhered it to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins and the card is done. I do love that Dreams are Made Set, there are some fun images and great greetings in there! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂
