  • Layered Cardinal Thanks

    Layered Cardinal Thanks

It was a little overcast here yesterday in the morning but started to clear up later in the day. My Parents stopped by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to visit yesterday and I finally got my Newsletter out! Yay! Today the Store is open from 10:00am until 2:00pm and we are closed tomorrow. I’m looking forward to a few days off! After work I had dinner with my Parents and Taylor and then her and I headed to the movies to Star Wars – Rogue One. It was an awesome movie! I liked it better than The Force Awakens! By the time I got home it was 10:30, I sat down and made four cards for today’s post! It’s never too late to craft! Plus it’s always good to have extra cards on hand… right?! 😀

The cards that I made are some thank you cards and they were actually pretty quick and easy! I used my Mini MISTI to stamp all of the images which makes creating multiples super fast! The cardinal and branch are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Cardinal Stamp & Die Combo. I used Pale Tomato, Raspberry Jam, Red Royal and Black for the cardinals and Cup O Joe and Pine Hybrid for the branches. The feet and cardinal are cut out using the Coordinating Dies, the feet are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and the cardinal with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used my Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen to add a little detail to the cardinal’s eye and they are done! I always try to stamp multiples when I’m using Color Layering Stamps and I keep them on my desk so that I can make really quick cards when I need to and there is no better tool for doing that than the MISTI! I hope that you enjoyed my Thank You cards for today! A big thank you for your visit! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

  • Pencil Floral Joy

    Pencil Floral Joy

I actually woke up on time yesterday morning! I had some things to do like my laundry before I left for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Once I was at the Store I had to fax something for my Parents and it took 10 tries to get it to go through! Who faxes things anymore?! I did have a nice day, Angie and Renee worked on cleaning up and I made my card for today. I left a little early so that I could come home and surprise Daniel! We played with some old Hess Toy Trucks and then watched a few YouTube videos together. I headed over to meet Heather at Geroge’s and had dinner with them. From there Heather and I had a few errands to run and then we met Stephanie back at Heather’s apartment for an early Thirsty Thursday installment! We had a great time like we always do! Today I really do need to work on my Newsletter and tonight I’m going to the movies with Taylor to see Rouge One! 😀

Once again I felt like coloring yesterday so I stamped the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background Stamp in Hero Arts Black Ink onto a piece of Kraft Card Stock. It took a little over 30 minutes to color in the background with my Prismacolor Pencils and I enjoyed every minute of it! The background is adhered to a piece of Black and that’s adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My joy is from the Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set and is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock and two pieces of Black. I adhered the gold and black pieces together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The card needed just a little more sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and it’s finished! I’m a big fan of that Holiday Florals Background and love the way it looks colored in! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for taking some time out of your busier than normal schedule to come by and see what I’m up to! Have a fun Thursday! 🙂

  • Colorful String of Lights

    Colorful String of Lights

We had a somewhat overcast day all day yesterday. But it was bright and fun inside the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte! Renee had her cookie exchange and it was a good time! My Parents stopped by and picked up some of the chocolate that Cara makes for Daniel and had some of the cookies that I asked my friend Melissa to make! My Grandmother always made Coconut Wheaties and they have always been my favorite! They were also the winner of the cookie exchange! They tasted just like my Grandmother’s, even my Dad agreed! Melissa also gave my scarf that she made for me yesterday! I LOVE it! Here is a quick pic of me wearing it…

I love the colors and it’s an infinity scarf, fits around my neck twice perfectly! You can also see that the scaffolding is still up! Will it ever go away?! Today I have the new release from Lawn Fawn coming as well as a few goodies from My Favorite Things! 😀

The card front for today’s card has been sitting on my desk for almost a month so I thought that it was about time I completed the card! I took a piece of Lemon Lime Card Stock and used the Lawn Fawn String of Lights Lawn Cuts to cut out the negatives of the lights. I then cut the string from a piece of Black and the tops of the bulbs from Silver Glitter Paper. My greeting is from the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice. The sparkles around the lights are from the same set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. I adhered the string and silver bulb tops to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and then adhered a piece of Acetate with E-Z Runner to the back. Next I created wells for the sequins with 3M Foam Tape and filled them with Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry, Pansy Purple, Lemon Drop, Cobalt and Pumpkin Sequins. All that was left to do was adhered the card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to the back and the card is finished! I think that it’s a very festive card that will go to someone special! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for starting your week off with a visit to the Blog! Have a merry Monday! 🙂

  • Holly Jolly Christmas

    Holly Jolly Christmas

We had about three inches of snow yesterday morning when I woke up and it was raining when I left to head over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. It was like a giant Slurpee outside all day! The crop was fun and I sat with Melissa and her Mum and worked on some projects and tried to catch up on other things. I left the store around 3:00 so I could come home and get ready for my little Holiday Party. I picked up Danielle and we ran to Target and stopped at Starbucks on the way over. We had a great time at the party and I got to see a lot of my old work peeps! Anthony and Bill were there too! Today is Renee’s cookie exchange at the store, I’m hoping get to sample some of them! 🙂

I have a nice simple card to share with you today. It’s a great last minute Holiday card and would be really easy to mass produce using your MISTI! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I adhered a piece of Gold Glitter Card to the front. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background using Soft Vanilla Ink. I then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Intense Black. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My holly is from the Hero Arts Happy Holly Days Stamp & Die  Combo and is also stamped in Intense Black onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. I used my Staedtler Watercolor Pencils and a Pentel Aquash Detail Brush to color it in. The Coordinating Dies are used to cut it out and I adhered it to the card with 3D Foam Squares. To finish off the card I added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I love the softness of the background with the bold greeting and the little sprig of holly! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks for coming by today! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

  • Floral Merry Christmas

    Floral Merry Christmas

Happy weekend! It was another chilly day yesterday and we are to have some snow and rain today. The only consolation is that tomorrow it’s supposed get up into the 50’s! What a nice day I had at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The Card Class was great and everyone had a fun time! The night group is always a great group and they all had their cards finished in two hours! After work I headed over to Heather’s to help her take some of the Christmas presents over to Geroge’s house. He was out to dinner with friends so I got Heather on a Friday night! We laughed and watched some YouTube videos before I headed home around 12:30. Today Renee has a No-Frills Crop so I will get to see some of my ladies! I also have the pleasure of attending my old job’s Holiday Party! I’m going to pick up Danielle and head over later on tonight! It will be fun to see everyone again!

I just had to share this picture of Daniel and Tristan, it was one of the ones that they choose for their Christmas card this year…

    daniel-tristan-xmas-2016

They are both just so cute! It looks like they should be in a children’s clothing ad! I know, I’m biased! 😀

Today I have a quick simple card to share with you that uses a spring themed die for a Christmas card! I used the Hero Arts Floral Border with Frame Fancy Die to cut out the center of a piece of Herb Garden. To make some of the flowers and butterflies stand out I used my Versa-Mark Pen and some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder! I die cut the merry using the Hero Arts Merry Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Set from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and two pieces of Black 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The frame is then held over a piece of Chinese Red and the merry is put into place so that I could determine where to heat emboss the Christmas. I adhered the red to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Some 3M Foam Tape pieces are added to the back of the frame and it’s adhered to the red. I adhered the merry to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and used some more to add a bunch of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I do love that Floral Frame, especially with the small heat embossed sections and think that it makes for pretty Christmas card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for stopping by! Have a sensational Saturday! 🙂

  • Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class!

Well, I think that I experienced a new level of freeing cold yesterday! Not so much the temperature which was 22 but the wind was had gusts up to 60mph! It was the kind of cold that gets into your bones and you can’t get rid of it! Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was fun! My friend Jan comes in between the two times so she can be nice and relaxed! She does such a great job when she does! I had to run out to the Post Office, I drove because it was way too cold and windy to walk! Renee and I spent the rest of the day finishing up projects and around 5:15 my little buddy Daniel called me to ask me when I was coming home because he was waiting for me! I left at 5:30, can’t keep that little boy waiting! When I got my Parent’s I had dinner with him and Taylor. After he showed me a new truck that he wants, I’m sure that my Parent’s have already bought it! LOL! He also insisted that we take a selfie! He members better than I do!

    daniel-me-12-2016

As you can see from the picture he was trying to push the button! My Parents took him home around 7:00 and I headed over to Heather’s to get her so that we could run some errands. We finished that quickly and went back to her house. I helped her wrap one of George’s Christmas Gifts and was home by 10:30. Today is the second day of Card Class sure to be even more fun! 🙂

I have seen a few requests in the comments recently asking me to share more of the things that I do at the Store so today I’m sharing the four projects that we made in this month’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Store December Card Class. The featured company is Hero Arts!

The first card is the shaker! I used the Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies to cut out the window from a piece of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Fun Foam. Then I traced the inside the window onto a piece of Moonstone Blue. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cup O Joe and the snowflakes from the Hero Arts Holiday Mittens Stamp & Die Combo in Tide Pool. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Black. Next I added the Acetate to the back of the white panel and and then adhered the Fun Foam with E-Z Runner. Some Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter is sprinkled on the blue and then the white window panel is adhered to it with more E-Z Runner. My tree is from the Hero Arts Snowy Tree Stamp & Die Combo, it’s stamped in Mint Julep and Tide Pool. I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying so that I could emboss the snow layer in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. The tree is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I love the card, it’s a simple shaker but looks like you are looking out of an apartment window at the Brooklyn Bridge in the snow!

    sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-2

The second card is another simple Christmas card. I stamped the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background onto a piece of Solar White 80lb with Mint Julep Ink. My tags are from the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Stamp & Die Combo. The large tag is stamped in Dark Quatz and the smaller one is heat embossed with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Next I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine into a bow and adhered the panel to my card base of Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The tags are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins are added with two to hide the adhesive holding on the Vellum tag. Love the simplicity of the card and the different colors!

    sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-1

My third card is actually one that I CASE’d from Yana Smakula! As soon as I saw the card I loved it and had to make it right away! The background is created by stamping some of the images from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Die Combo, the first layer is heat embossed in Hero Arts Satin Pearl Embossing powder and the second layer in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool to add a little Soft Pool Ink to highlight the heat embossed images. Next I used the die from the set to cut out a notch in the side of the card. I turned the card over and placed a gift card so that it showed though the notch and traced around it on a piece of Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the place where the gift card was traced onto the Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the background. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. I used 3D Foam Squares to adhered the greeting over a piece of Natural Twine and then adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Rose Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are added, a gift card is slipped into the slot and the twine is tied in a bow! I really do love the idea of this card, that Yana is so clever!

    sip-card-class-hero-12-2016-card-3

Finally, instead of another card this month I thought it would be neat to make two quick and easy tags! All of the images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped the jars in Soft Pool, the trees in Green Hills, the deer and bear in Cup O Joe and the house in Wet Cement. A little snow is stamped in more Soft Pool and then they are cut out using the Coordinating Dies. I punched a hole in the top and tied some Natural Twine though. Super simple yet really neat gift tags! That Winter Scene Set is still a favorite of mine!

  • Paper Craft Crew 223

    Paper Craft Crew 223

It was another cold day here, but it wasn’t windy so it felt warmer than it has! I had some more people take the Ornament Class and Renee had her All Occasions Card Class too! My friend Erica came by to pick up the two cards that she had asked me to make her and she was really happy with them. Renee may take off today to go into Manhattan to see the tree! I hope that she does get to, otherwise I’m going to have to take and I don’t quite know how we would work that out! I was very happy to see that my little buddy Daniel was at my Parent’s house when I got there last night! He hid behind the door and scared me, it worked and he couldn’t have been happier! When I got to my house I called Heather and she told me to stop by George’s house for a bit. I went over there and then came back to my house to make my card for today. I always have lots to do at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store… but you already know that! LOL!

Many of you have asked that I share the Ornament that they are making in the Class so here it is…

    And yes, it’s a shaker! LOL! 😀

So let’s see… Wednesday… ahh yes, it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew challenge…

    pcccs223-dt-sketch-12-12-2016

I had stamped the image of the deer from the Hero Arts Color Layering Deer Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Cup O Joe and Black, cut him out with the Coordinating Dies and put him on my desk a few weeks ago. I though that it was time for him to go on a card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Kraft. To cut out the circle I used the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. I also cut a circle out of Fun Foam and adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the background followed by the Fun Foam. Across the top is a piece of Carta Bella Dot – Vellum Foil 12×12 and under that is a piece of Natural Twine tied in a bow. I added some fun Deer Confetti that I found in the Target Dollar Spot along with Gold Chunky Glitter to the card base and adhered the background over the top. Next up I used 3M Foam Tape to adhere the deer and stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cup O Joe onto the background. Just three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins was all that was left to add and the card is done! I love the detail in that deer, he would work really well for a nice masculine birthday card too! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see my card for today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 78 – Winter Holiday!

SIP Challenge 78 – Winter Holiday!

The day started off with some rain that washed away the snow so it wasn’t so bad! When I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store I was happy to see that the ceiling didn’t leak! I guess they finally finished the roof. My Ornament Class was fun, since it’s the Holidays and difficult for people to get to come in at specific times we will be extending the class though the end of the week! After work I did the usual, had dinner with my Parents. Heather is back from New Orleans and she came by to get me so I could run to DSW with her. After that I came back home and worked on my card for today. Renee has her All Occasions Card Class today and I have to start thinking about getting ready for this month’s Card Class, it’s Thursday and Friday! 😀

I can finally share what Andrew and I have been working on, the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store is now online! I will be adding more products daily and there will be specials for all of you! Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    sip-theme-78-800

I just had to use one of my favorite sets from Hero Arts again! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Holiday Floral Wood Mount Background Stamp onto a piece of Purple Hearts with some Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder and adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner. That favorite set that I mentioned is the Hero Arts Coffee Cup Stamp & Die Combo, I stamped the coffee cups in Hero Arts Passion Flower and Intense Black Inks and cut them out using the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. The cheers is from the September My Monthly Hero Kit and is cut from a piece of Blue Mist and two pieces of Solar White 110lb. I used my trusty Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them to each other and some 3M Foam Tape to adhered it to the coffee cups. The rest of my greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhered it to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Lavender Moon and Cornflower Sequins and a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the cheers was all that was needed to complete the card! I really do love the Coffee Cup Stamp & Die Combo and I have used it a lot in my Holiday Card making this year! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Winter Holiday Theme! Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of my talented Design Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting today! Have an awesome Tuesday! 🙂

    Paper Players 325

It was overcast and dreary all day yesterday. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was good like it always is, I got some things done and Renee and Angie worked on their projects all day. I snuck out a little early so that I could get the plastic ornaments that I needed for today’s class. After I did that I had dinner with my Parents and then came home and worked on today’s card. The dreary weather took a turn for the worse, it snowed last night! It’s way too early for that! Today I have my Ornament Class at the Store, that will be fun! 😀

Since there is no Mojo Monday for the rest of the year I get to share my card for the week’s Paper Players challenge…

    paper-players-325

It’s their last challenge for the year too! I knew what I wanted to use for the card, I just wasn’t sure exactly how I wanted to use it! I got a few goodies from Ellen Hutson the other day, I just couldn’t resist some of the new stamps and dies that they had! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Essentials by Ellen Poinsettia & Pine Dies to cut out some Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock and Dark Gold Glitter Paper. I adhered the pine branches to the card with 1/8″ Score-Tape and the pinecones with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The peace is from the Essentials by Ellen Holiday Words Dies and is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and two pieces of Black 110lb. I adhered them to each other with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with 3M Foam Tape. All that was left to do was to add a few Platinum and Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins! I do love the dies, especially the Poinsettia & Pine, love those scribbly pinecones! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for starting your week off with a visit here! I wish you all a very happy Monday! 🙂

    Dapper Cheers New Year!

I had such a nice day in Manhattan yesterday! Despite the packed train on the way in! It was so nice to see Jim and Diane! They really are two of the nicest people and kindest too! After I was done visiting with them I headed down to the Subway to make my way to The Ink Pad. The train was so crowded I didn’t have to hold on to anything! Once I got to Union Square I had a nice if not really chilly walk over to the store. It was so good to see Anna and she had some surprise news for me! She ran off to Vegas with her longtime boyfriend and got hitched! How fun is that?! We had lunch together and got all caught up! I was hoping to hear from my friend Kim so that I could see her too but by the time she text me I was already on the train on the way home. I did get to sit next to a very nice lady and we talked all the way! She had gone into the city to see the Radio City Christmas Show for the first time and loved it! Dad retrieved me from the station and we had Chinese food for Dinner. After that Taylor and I went to Walmart and I bumped into my friends Dorothy and her hubby! We chatted for a bit, I love running into peeps when I’m out, such a nice surprise! Today I’m back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, I hope that Renee is feeling better!

I did manage to get one picture before I left the city. I had wanted to take more and stop by the tree and Bryant Park, I’ll go there the next time. This is 34th Street looking down at Macy’s, see how packed it was?!

When I got home I had to make a card for today and decided that I needed to play with some of the add-ons for the December My Monthly Hero Kit! To start the card I used the Hero Arts Party Confetti Background Die to cut out a piece of Black Card Stock and that is adhered to a piece of Gold Mirror Card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Happy New Year Stamp & Cut. I heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of 48lb Vellum and folded the edges over the background before adhering it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I heat embossed the clock, 2017 and 6 in more Gold onto more Vellum. The fireworks and top hat are heat embossed in Hero Arts Black Sparkle Embossing Powder onto Super Gold Curious Metallic. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the clock, fireworks and top hat. The Vellum pieces are adhered with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape and the rest with Black 3D Foam Squares. I love that Party Confetti Background Die, especially over the Gold Mirror Card in Black. Makes for an elegant and festive card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by to share in a little of my day! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂
