SIP Challenge 72

Happy day after Halloween! Have you recovered from your candy comas yet?! It was chilly here yesterday but sunny and the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store closed early yesterday so that Renee and I could go and spend a little quality time with our families! I did get my Hero Arts order and got that checked in and also got my new Kindle! I started reading the The Atlantis Gene, it was a free read on Amazon Prime! It’s pretty good so far! After I left the Store I headed home and met up with my Parents and we drove out to my Brother’s house. Daniel was Marshall from Paw Patrol and Tristan was an elephant! We Trick-or-Treated for a while and then had dinner. Here are some pics along with a selfie of Daniel and I that he said I should take!

And yes, my brother made the firetruck! He’s pretty talented too! We had so much fun with them! Today I need to get some things accomplished at the Store and also finish up some projects. I know, I’m always finishing up projects! LOL! 😀

Let’s see… its Tuesday! Time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

sip-sketch-challenge-72-800

My card for today starts off with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Winter Petite Paper Pad down the middle to the left a little. My star is cut from American Crafts Glitter Card Stock with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Stars Lawn Cuts, I punched a hole in the bottom with my Crop-A-Dile. The greeting is from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder onto a piece of Battleship Gray that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags Lawn Cuts. I tied the large star to the small one with Lawn Fawn Silver Single Cord Lawn Trimmings and adhered the large star to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My seal is created using the Lawn Fawn Narwhal & Friends Lawn Cuts. I cut him out of Black, Slate and Battleship Gray and adhered him together with Dot Runner Adhesive. He is then adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I think that this may very well be Daniel’s Christmas Card! Love that little seal, he’s so cute! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards, including this month’s Guest Designer LeAnne! Thank you for coming by today! Have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Winter Forest Snow Globe

Oh how I love a day in Manhattan! I took the 8:11 train in, it was 8 minutes late as is usually the case with a morning train on the weekend. Once in the city I made my way up to 86th Street on the 1 train and headed to Starbucks to get a Venti Chili Mocha (my new favorite drink!). From there I went and saw my friends Jon and Mary for a while and then Joe and Penny. Around 2:00 I called Anna to see if she was at The Ink Pad, she was so I went down to spend some time with her. We had a nice chat discussing store stuff and made plans to get together for dinner soon! I made it back to Penn Station in time to get the 6:12 back out to the Island and had dinner with my Parent’s. Between the train and spending a few hours reading once I got home I’m almost finished with Inferno! I’m enjoying the book immensely and I’m sure that the movie will be great too! Today I’m alone at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, Renee is going to see Jersey Boys with her Mum and Sister. Hopefully it will be a project filled day! 😀

I finally got to play with the My Monthly Hero Kit from this month and made a fun snow globe shaker! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the front of the shaker I used the snow globe die to cut out the negative from a piece of Solar White 80lb and two pieces of Fun Foam. I laid the panel on the card and traced a circle with my pencil so I would know where to stamp the trees and add the snow banks. Speaking of the trees, they are stamped in Green Fields and the snow banks are cut from more Solar White 80lb. An additional tree is stamped and die cut and then all of the pieces are added to the card front including the deer which I stamped in Cup O Joe and also die cut. A few snow flakes are stamped on the card front from the Wintertime Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set in the Silver Ink included in the Kit. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the front panel and then adhered the two layers of Fun Foam to the card front adding a generous amount of the shaker beads and sequins included in the kit to my well. The bottom of the snow globe is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder along with the greeting from the Kit Stamp Set and it’s adhered to the card to finish off my scene! A fun card where the shaker is the star of the show! I hope that you like my card for today! You visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a simple Sunday! 🙂

Fab Friday 99

It rained all day here yesterday and was on the chilly side until last night when it warmed up a bit. I had another productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! A few people came in to make the card with the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Stamps and Dies! Love that 3D Pop-Up, especially since it fits inside a standard A2 envelope! I also got a kit put together with four card samples using the Lawn Fawn Snow Cool Stamp Set and Lawn Cuts and made my card for today! Taylor came by again, love when she comes to visit me! After work I had some dinner with the Parent’s and then went over to see Heather for a bit. We made a quick trip to Walmart and then watched a little TV. Today I’m going to put the kits together and start working on some more! They would make great gifts for the beginning stamper! They have everything except adhesives to make a bunch of cards! I also have some fun news to share with you! There is an article with me in it in the Holiday Issue of Rubber Stamp Madness Magazine!! How cool is that?! You can go to their web site and take a peek! I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty excited! 😀

Not only is it Friday but it’s time for new Fab Friday challenge…

fab-fri-99-10-28-2016

I wanted to use a new set that I just recently acquired from Hero Arts! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a piece of Black 110lb to serve as a mat for my background. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Cornflower Ink to create it. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The strip across the lower half has a greeting from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Onyx Black. My images are from the Hero Arts Wintertime Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black and used my Copics to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I added some White Puff Embossing Powder to the tree with a Versa-Marker and heat embossed it. The images are then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins on the tree complete the card! I love the little animals in the set, adorable but not too cutesy! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Pay a visit to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for spending some of your Friday with me! Have a fantabulous day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 216

I had an extra fun day yesterday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy with Renee’s Home Decor projects being made. I got see my friend Michelle who stopped in to get a few things. Taylor also came up and had lunch with me, it’s nice to see her awake! LOL! I got a call from my friend Sue telling me that she had an extra ticket for the Carrie Underwood Concert at Madison Square Garden and did I want to go?! Of course I did. I left the Store at 3:30 and stopped by my Parent’s and guess who was there? My little buddy Daniel! I played with him for a bit. We palyed solitaire on hiPad and he made a new game where as soon as he found the Aces the game was finished and he started a new one! We finished with that and I gave hime lots of love and headed over to meet Sue. We got the train into Manhattan, we met her daughter Sharon on the train, and had a slice of Penn Station Pizza before heading up to get to our seats. Easton Corbin opened and I like him! Carrie Underwood was fantastic! She puts on a great show! The stage was in the round so you get to see all of the show! Here are a few pictures…

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

pcccs216-dt-sketch-10-25-2016

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of Echo Park This & That 12×12 Paper. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and I stamped the snow flurry from the Hero Arts Vintage Wishes Stamp & Die Combo in Soft Granite and the snowflakes in Charcoal. Down the left side is a piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock and the greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black. I then used E-Z Runner and Fun Foam to adhere the panel to the card base. The circle is cut from a piece of Silver Glitter Paper with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts and adhered to a piece of Solar White 110lb to make it a little more sturdy. I adhered the circle to the card with more E-Z Runner. My two trees and snowman are from the same set with the snowman stamped in Intense Black and the trees in Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and then adhered them to the circle with 3D Foam Squares. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes off the card! I love that Winter Scene Stamp Set, so many fun images and for me to use only one set it must a good one! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for coming by to see me today! Have a wild Wednesday! 🙂

Silver Snow Holidays

It was chilly and rainy here for most of the day yesterday. I was glad to be at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, Renee had her no-frills crop! I had a little mini Card Class with Elyse, Nancy and Barbara and that was a lot of fun! A few orders had to be entered into the system since the register was down for most of the day yesterday. After work I had some Chinese food for dinner with my Parents. When I got home I made the mistake of turning on the TV and got sucked into Gods of Egypt. It was actually a pretty good movie! Today I want to get my newsletter done and then I need to clean up the house a bit when I get home! Fun Sunday stuff!

I had started working on a collage card at some point last night and then decided that I didn’t like it! So I made this one instead! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and I covered the front in a piece of Lawn Fawn Bluejay that I cut out with the largest Stitched Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts. The Snowflakes are cut from Galvanized Curious Metallic using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes Lawn Cuts. I adhered them from upper left to lower Right with Multi-Matte Medium. A circle is cut out from some 48lb Vellum with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables. I heat embossed the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Love You a Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. The coffee cup is from the same set and I used Copics to color it in and the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A large snowflake is adhered to the back of the Vellum and then the circle is adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. For a healthy dose of Sparkle I added Little Thing by Lucy Nautical Sparkle Sequin Mix and a few Rhinestones. You know how I love a non-traditional Holiday card and this one definitely fits the bill! I hope that you like today’s card! I thank you for stopping by and I wish you all a very nice Sunday! 🙂

City Night Sky Santa

It started off chilly here in the morning but warmed up as the day went on. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte were filled with peeps having fun with Renee’s wine glass candle holder projects! Taylor came up to the store and hung out for the day too! I got a few cards made and that is always a good day! After work my friend Marianne followed me home and we went up to IKEA. I had to get some pillowcases, I really like their sheets, they are 100% cotton! I also ended up getting a new area rug for the living room and Marianne picked up a few more things than she planned. After IKEA we went and had a little dinner at Noodles & Company. From there is was off to A. C. Moore, Marianne had a few things that she needed to get. When I got back to my house I sat down in the Stampin’ Galley and worked on today’s card! Today I have a bunch of things to get accomplished at the Store, I’ll be off tomorrow for Heather’s Dad’s funeral.

There was a nice little surprise waiting in the mailbox for me when I got home yesterday, the My Monthly Hero Kit finally arrived so of course I had to have a little play with it! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Black. To create my background I masked off about 1 1/4″ of the bottom of a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Navy Ink. I then moved the mask and applied Grape Juice and Navy to the top part. I took a picture of the panel when I had finished my ink blending. You can see how it looks a little blotchy…

ha-ink-blending-wm

As you will see on the final card the ink evens out nicely after about 20 minutes! I used my heat tool to make sure that the ink was completely dry, I wanted to heat emboss the Santa and sleigh from the October My Monthly Hero Kit with some Onyx Black and Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. Next I die cut the cityscape and bridge from the Hero Arts Skylines Fancy Dies. The buildings are cut from Black and the bridge from Ionized Curious Metallic. I adhered the buildings with Dot Runner Adhesive and the bridge with Black 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is also from the stamp set included in the kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing powder onto another piece of Black. The left side is flagged and more Black 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. The sky needed some stars so I picked a few out of the Little Things by Lucy Platinum Mix and adhered them with Multi-Matte Medium. I really do love the way the Hero Arts Inks blend,  just a little patience and you get amazing results! I hope that you enjoyed my little city Holiday card today! I appreciate you coming by and wish you all a simple Sunday! 🙂

Grateful Spooky Halloween Wreath

So I was hoping that when I got to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday morning there would be internet. Nope! We had to call Optimum and they sent a really nice guy out to fix it. He gave me his cell phone just incase they cut it again! I managed to get a few things done and so did Renee. Today is the start of the weekend crop! The crops are always fun! I’m going to try and be really productive! 😀

When I got home last night I realized that I didn’t have a card for today! I went into the Stampin’ Galley and this is what I came up with. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. To create my background I used the Hero Arts Grateful Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set and Autumn Ombre Ink. The veins on the leaves are stamped in Just Rust. Next up I die cut some more Black 110lb with the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die and stamped the bats and pumpkins form the Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut in Intense Black and Just Rust. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the bats and pumpkins. They are adhered to the wreath with Dot Runner Adhesive and then the wreath is adhered to the card with Black 3D Foam Squares. The halloween is also from the Halloween Trimmings Stamp & Cut, I die cut it three times from Black 110lb and used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere them to each other and the card. The rest of the sentiment is heat embossed in Hero Arts White and adhered with more 3D Foam Squares. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin and Metallic Copper Sequins and the card is finished! Even though the background is a little busy I still love the way it looks! I hope that you like my card for today! Thanks for spending some of your Saturday with me! Enjoy the start of your weekend! 🙂

Paper Players 315

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I mentioned that they are doing construction right?! Well yesterday it was our turn to have the facade of the building taken down. So much noise and mess! Renee was smart and took the day off! I did have one person come in the morning to make the house. Around 3:30 I lost internet because they cut the cable wire! I called the rest of the people that were scheduled to take the class and said we would have to reschedule and I closed up around 4:00. Don’t ask what the cable is just cut it! So annoying! I stopped home and then went over to Heather’s so we could run some errands and have dinner. Kim and Stephanie came by for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always. Today I need to get a ton of projects finished and hopefully we will have internet!

Today I have my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-315

My friend Andrea very cleverly said to me, well you were going to share the house on your blog so why not use it for the challenge?! She is so smart sometimes! Here is the 3D Haunted House that I made for the class! I used the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling and the Village Manor Add-On Dies. All of the main parts of the house are cut from Black 110lb Card Stock and the fence, chimneys, door and windows from Battleship Gray. I used Vellum in the windows and the roofs are cut from American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock. The windows, doors and chimneys have a little Black Soot Distress Ink added. I used Scor-Tape and Multi-Matte Medium to glue everything together. For a little extra spook I added a sparkly bat and ghost. There is a flickering tea light inside too! I do love the way the house came out! It’s simple but fun! I hope that you like my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 257

I had another dressing appropriately issue again but I wasn’t the only one! When I went outside at 7:30 yesterday morning it was chilly and overcast, I wore long pants and a sweatshirt. By the afternoon I was roasting! LOL! The sun had come out once again and it was a lovely day! Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me cut for today’s Haunted House class. She was dressed for fall too! I cut a few extra kits and will post a picture of the house over the weekend in case anyone is interested. Taylor had text me during the day and asked me if I would pick something up for her and drop it off at her house then Heather called and asked if I would run over to her house and set her DVR to record some stuff. I also had to run to Target, I sold my Nespresso to Heather a few months ago and miss it and they had one on clearance for $138 (originally $279!)!! So I ran all over. Taylor did text me and say that she wanted to get out of the house so I picked her up before Target. She is still in pain and her mouth is swollen but she is feeling a little better. I passed on all of your sage advice to her and she said to thank you! When I got back to the house I had a few espressos and then relaxed for a bit! Yes, caffeine has absolutely no effect on me… I wish it did!

I did squeeze in a little crafty time yesterday and the card that I made is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-257

I have had an idea for the Hero Arts Cardinal Set for a while so I gave my idea a try, you’ll have to let me know what you think! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Bluejay Card Stock, subliminal I guess! For my background I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Hero Arts Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar Ink to create a little sunny sky. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Intense Black. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The “bluejay” is from the Hero Arts Cardinal Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped him in Soft Granite, Cornflower, Navy and Intense Black. He and his feet are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The pine branches and pinecones are from the Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo and are stamped in Green Fields and Cup O Joe and also cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the pine branches with Dot Runner Adhesive and the pinecones and bluejay with 3D Foam Squares. It needed one more thing… oh yes… a few Pretty Pink Posh Cornflower, Mossy Green and Lemon Drop Sequins! I have to say that I really like the cardinal made to look like a bluejay and the background blended with the Hero Inks is just lovely! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 468

I really enjoyed my weekend and hope that you did too! Yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store we had our first Hand Lettering Class taught by the lovely Paula Andrea! I took the class and learned the basics, included in the class is an excellent workbook so we can all practice, and I’m going to need a lot! If you want to see some of Paula’s work you can find her on Instagram HERE! She was an excellent teacher and we can’t wait to have her back! After work I came home and saw my little buddy Daniel at my Parent’s for a bit before heading over to pick up Kim so that we could go to Govenor’s Comedy Club for the Fire Department Fundraiser. We met up with Brian and I got to see my friends Mike and Michelle who I haven’t seen in ages! It was nice to catch up with them! The last comedian of the night, Mick Thomas, was hysterical! I think that the Irish accent made him even funnier! What a nice way to end the weekend!

And it’s Monday so that means that I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

mojo468

Of course I had to play with a new Mama Elephant set! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Echo Park Wintertime 12×12 Collection. For the band across the lower half I used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim off the lower part of a piece of Gold Mirror Card and added a strip of Echo Park This & That 12×12 Paper across it before adhering it to the card. That super cute “Charlie Brown” tree is from the new Mama Elephant O’ Tiny Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the trunk and branches in Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink and colored in the image with Copics. The pine needles are stamped in Evergreen Crisp Ink. My lights and string are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder, the ornament hook in Platinum and the ornament in Gold. I colored in the lights and ornament in with Copics and added a generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the ornament. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the corners and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Up in the left corner is a piece of Black 110lb adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I hand cut the tag from more Gold Mirror Card and then added a Natural Twine bow to it before adhering it to the card with a Glue Dot. I’m totally in love with the little tree! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the Design Team BLOG to see more inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off with me! I really love you coming by! Have a fun Monday! 🙂
