Mojo Monday 408 and More Manhattan!

Well, I had THE best 4 days off! My weekend was fantastic! Yesterday morning Maggie said our goodbyes to Kim and Maggie and headed downtown to have breakfast with Michael. Around 12:30 I walked Maggie to the Subway so she could get to JFK for her flight back to Cali. It was so nice to have Maggie here with me, love her to pieces. She is so happy and funny and I’m glad that she got to meet Michael and Kim! I can’t wait for her to come back!! It was also a lot of fun working at The Ink Pad with Michael. So many people from different countries stop in. We met a sweet lady from France who gave us some really cool tags that she used as business cards! After we closed the store we took a nice long walk along the Hudson and watched all of the boats and people. So relaxing and it was a gorgeous evening. I dropped Michael off in Midtown and then headed home. I really didn’t want to weekend to end! As promised here are some pictures that I took from the High-Line yesterday. It was an amazing sunset!

One good thing about Monday’s, it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Oh how I love a tall & skinny! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Designer Series Paper Pack. Across the lower half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes dies along the top and bottom. My main panel is a piece of Basic Black that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with another piece of Typeset DSP on top. I adhered a sliver of Basic Black along the bottom and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The neat cup is from this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the succulent in Pear Pizzaz. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I say it all the time but I really do love the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin Kits! Mojo Monday 407

Seeing the weekend end is such a bummer! I did have another absolutely fantastic weekend so no complaining! Saturday in Manhattan with Michael and friends at The Ink Pad and then a nice lazy Sunday morning. After a late breakfast with Heather Michael and I worked on some projects and he made two cards and did a post! You have to go and take a look and see what he made by stopping by his BLOG! Around 3:00 we headed out to Michaels and then stopped for some pizza for lunch before taking a little trip over to see my friend Chantal. It has been way too long since I have seen her! We had a nice chat and then stopped back at my house before going to Long Beach. I forget how nice it is to go to the beach and just walk along the ocean and that’s just what we did. Here are a few pictures…

But Monday’s are pretty good too because that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I got a new toy over the weekend and was dying to try it out! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad on the lower half and across the top of that is a piece of Real Red. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black above the Real Red. The lifesaver and the sailboat are also from the same stamp set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copic Markers to color them in and then cut them out with my Paper Snips. My shaker pocket is created using a stamp pocket from Simon Says Stamp and the new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool. I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and then adhered the lifesaver and the Smoky Slate half circle to the pocket. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam then holds the pocket to the card. A little Foam Tape adheres the sailboat to the half circle and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Fuse Tool, especially for creating a fun and easy shaker pocket! I’m also having fun playing with the Copic Markers, I still have a long way to go with my coloring however! Mojo Monday 406

A quiet Sunday, necessary I guess. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off two of the cards for this week’s class. I had to pick out some different paper for the other two, I didn’t like the original ones that I choose. Other than that I just worked on projects, did laundry and watched a little TV. I really do find it hard to do nothing by myself, odd huh? This week at work should be loads of fun said no one ever! Hopefully it will be a quick one!

It’s Monday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I got stuck on the greeting and that is how the rest of today’s card came into being! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate and Basic Gray that are adhered to a piece of White. I heat embossed the Hero Arts with Studio Calico Tiny Star Background Stamp with some White Hero Arts Embossing Powder. The patterned paper is from the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection Paper Pad and is backed with some Neenah Solar White 80lb. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Basic Black. I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Star Die for my embellishment. I love all of the stars and I didn’t realize that the patterned paper and the background stamp are coordinated until I typed this post! LOL! Mojo Monday 405

Well, that was the best weekend I have had in a long time! Saturday in Manhattan then a BBQ and nice lazy Sunday with Michael watching movies and having Chinese food. Doesn’t get much better than that! I find it very difficult to just be and it was nice to get to do that for a change! I also received the replacement parts to fix the stereo in the Saab so I’ll see if I can get to that later on today. I hope that you all had a great weekend too!

It’s time once again for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Another great sketch as usual! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock. The base layer of the background is made up of a piece of Chocolate Chip on the bottom and some “Vintage” Crisp Cantaloupe on top. The panel in the middle is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad backed with a piece of “Vintage” Coastal Cabana. My diagonal piece is Pumpkin Pie and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Photopolymer Stamp Set for the stitched circle that is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and the Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set for the greeting, that’s stamped in Blushing Bride. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut it out and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin Sequins are added to give the card a little sparkle. I love the stitched circle stamp, especially paired with the stitched circle dies! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Mojo Monday 404

Happy Monday! I had a ~~nice~~ fantastic weekend! Saturday in Manhattan and then some quality time cleaning the car yesterday. I finished off the evening with a little Chinese food and a movie with Mr. Trent. We watched the end of The Devil Wears Prada and then Into the Blue. I also managed to get some crafty stuff done yesterday too and ran to Target. It was rainy and overcast most of the weekend but when you are having that much fun you don’t even notice! I hope that you all had a nice weekend too!

You know that I love a Tall & Skinny! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My base for the background is a piece of Smoky Slate. Two pieces of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6X6 Collection are up next. The anchor is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy on White. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the circle. I love all of the nautical-ness (is that even a word?! Mojo Monday 403

Yes, there goes another rapidly dwindling weekend. Although I have to say mine was very good. Yesterday was pretty relaxing. I had waffles with Taylor in the morning for breakfast and then went over to my parents’ because Daniel was there. He was in his “What’s that?” phase yesterday, that’s where he just sits and points at things asking, “What’s that?” over and over again. It’s usually the same thing, but he’s cute so it doesn’t matter. I came home and then Daniel came over to visit me, because he likes to do that now. LOL! We played a little bit more “What’s that?” in my house before he looked at me, said bye, grabbed my mother’s hand and left. The rest of the day I just relaxed, it’s nice to have a day like that every once in a while. I hope that you all had a good weekend too.

The good thing about Monday’s is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge! This week’s sketch is provided by the very talented Julee Tilman…

I haven’t done a mostly white card in a really long time, so I thought I’d give that a go today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I wanted my flagged piece and my greeting to match, so I coated the end of the flagged piece in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. Next up is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb that is adhered to the card with some Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the same Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum. I die cut my wreath using the Simon Says Stamp Danville Wreath and adhered it to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. To finish off the card, I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins on the wreath with Crystal Effects. I really like all of the white with the splashes of platinum and I love the way the greeting and the wreath match. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Mojo Monday 402!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a lovely day yesterday! Heather came by and picked my up at 10:30AM and we headed over to the Roosevelt Field Mall. She wanted to go to Charlotte Russe and I wanted to go to Aeropostale. Heather ended up getting three dresses and I got a pair of pants and a button down casual shirt. We wandered around a little and then headed over to the food court for some lunch. We decided on this place called the Melt Shop, we both had BLT’s and Tater Tots with Parmesan and Rosemary and it was delicious! On the way back from the mall we stopped at Century 21 where I got some more Ben Sherman shoes. One more stop at the Broadway Mall so Heather could pick up another dress and I got some shorts and sunglasses from the Aeropostale there and flip flops and a t-shirt from Old Navy. Quite a productive shopping day! The rest of the day was spent straightening up and crafting, the perfect Sunday! I hope that your Sunday was just as good!

Today is my first post for the Design Team over at Mojo Monday!! How cool is that?!?! Here is this week’s sketch from the very talented Julee Tilman…

I’m always quite inspired by the Mojo sketches and this one is no different! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Very Vanilla. Another piece of Very Vanilla is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the negative space on the right along with the other circles. Before I adhered the stitched panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I placed a piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack so it would sit under the negative. The next largest circle is also a piece of the same DSP. On top of that going across are a piece of Mint Macaroon and Calypso Coral with the ends cut off at an angle. My greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink on Very Vanilla. A piece of Fun Foam and some SNAIL adhere it to the card and it’s done! I really do love the patterns in the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack and that Ombre ink is just so cool! Mojo 401, Freshly Made Sketches 190 & Pals Paper Arts 255

Today is catch up day for me! It was quite hot here yesterday and muggy again but that just means more convertible time! Work was busy and after I had dinner I came home and started working on a bunch of projects because I got way behind this week! Around 8:00 I ran over to see my friend Sandy for a bit. She had ordered some new things from My Favorite Things and there was one little goodie in there for me! I got back from Sandy’s around 10:00 and finished up my projects. This morning I’m going to head over to Scrap-A-Latte and pick up the stamps for this month’s card class which is on Thursday and Friday! Yikes! I think that Taylor is going to take a ride with me provided that she is up! Today’s post is lengthy, three cards for you this Saturday morning!

Up first is my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Still can’t believe that I’m on the Design Team now!! Here it is…

This card has lots of new goodies from the new 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the entire front with a piece of Very Vanilla. My background is also a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. On the right is a piece of Calypso Coral with a piece of “Vintage” Old Olive 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon. I adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card with SNAIL. The middle panel is a piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper 6X6 Stack backed with some Basic Black, it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and tucked under ribbon. My greeting and butterfly are from the Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is heat embossed in “Vintage” Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum, the bottom is flagged with the top folded over and tucked behind the center panel. For the butterfly I stamped him in Mint Macaroon and Pacific Point on Very Vanilla and cut him out with the Butterfly Thinlits. The body is a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine, I folded a piece in half and the wound some more around it securing with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A few Basic Jewels Pearls are adhered to the butterfly and some Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy Sequins are scattered about. I love that Brick Wall Embossing Folder and the DSP is great!

Next up is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I decided to turn it on it’s side and make a wedding card, nope, still not done with them! The card base for this one is the same Neenah 110lb. On the front is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Geometric Next Level Embossing Folder. Across the bottom is a piece of Blushing Bride that I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Liquid Platinum. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam adheres it to the card. The wreath and branches are from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in more Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum and cut out with the matching Simon Says Stamp Lovely Day Dies. Some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape adhere them to the card. Around the greeting is a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins. I’m really loving the new Next Level embossing folders and the Platinum Embossing powder is definitely one of my favorites!

Today’s final card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I just had to play with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder again! The card base for this is the same as the first two, this one is covered in a piece of Marina Mist. The background is a piece of Sahara Sand that is embossed with that Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is heat embossed in “Vintage” Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Marina Mist. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut it out. The Flourish is the new My Favorite Things Pierced Fancy Flourish Die and is cut from Early Espresso and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Medium Matte. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere the greeting to the card. I thought it needed a little something more so I punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack from Marina Mist and used more Multi-Matte Medium to adhere them to the card. Finally some Basic Jewels Pearls are adhered to the centers of all of the flowers including the ones on the greeting. Like I said, I love the Brick Wall Folder!

Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! So today marks the 400th Mojo Monday sketch challenge!! I’m very proud to say that I have participated since challenge 220! That means that I have made 180 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge!! Crazy! I also would like to throw my hat in the ring to be considered for the Design Team!

They are going back to their roots for this sketch, it’s the very first one that they had…

Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Mojo 399

Another nice day here! They said that we might get some thunderstorms but they stayed to the north of us. When I got home from work I was Skyping with Andrea and she was showing me the storm clouds and a tornado to the north of her! There were some crazy things going in Colorado! I was part of a text conversation during the day that involved Brian getting his tongue pierced so I headed over to meet Heather at his house and we went to see my friend Mark at his Tattoo shop. I spoke with Mark about my next tattoo that I wanted to get while Brian got his tongue pierced. He didn’t even flinch, however my knees got a little weak at the sight of it! After we went to 7-Eleven to get him a Slurpee to help with the swelling. We got back to his house and I dropped him off and I headed over to Heather’s to meet up with Stephanie for some cocktails and conversation! I had my Whiskey Smash and all was right in the world again! I also got some fun news! Michael will be coming back to NY soon! I’ll keep you posted and let you know when he arrives! 🙂

Thankfully I made my card Tuesday night, 10:00pm is a little late to start making a card! That card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I decided that I wanted something fun and colorful so I pulled out some bright Designer Series Paper and a fun Stamp Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Pumpkin Pie. The background and strip across the middle are pieces of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. I cut a banner from a piece of Rich Razzleberry and adhered it to the card under the striped piece. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is flagged on both ends and adhered on too of that. My greeting and crayon are from the Lawn Fawn You Color My World Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre Ink and cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Circles. The crayon is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Daffodil Delight and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back of the circle and then it’s adhered to the card. The crayon is adhered to the circle with SNAIL. A scattering of Doodlebug Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects for a little sparkle. I do love the bright colors and fun stamp set!
